I started my houseplant collection because of you. My first plants being golden pothos, Hoya australis and scindapsus pictus argyraeus. From watching your videos and u saying they were fast growers. Going on almost two years now I have over 78 plants am obsessed with plants and have never been so happy and positive about life. I love my plants and I watch your videos all the time still especially when I’m repotting I’ll play your videos in the background or I’ll go back to a video to relearn something. I love Chinese-evergreens and Hoyas😫. You, planterina and harli g have showed exactly how beautiful plants are! Always supporting you!
I 💚 the pot you have it in. I think the plant prefers ceramic and plastic over terracotta. I’ve had mine for a couple years and we’re still working on it…yours is adorable 💚🪴
I’ve always had a few houseplants but it hasn’t been until the last couple of years that I’ve added a lot to my collection (who knew there were so many varieties of snake plant?!). I have my first pilea, and she’s doing okay but I cannot wait to watch her grow. And my cat was sitting in front of my keyboard while I was watching this, so I get it!
I just got my first houseplants as an adult a few days ago, thank you so much for the advice! Also I’m a wildlife conservationist and your cat has the most beautiful healthy coat and looks to be in good condition so you must be good at caring for multiple life forms!
I love muffin whipping you with her tail ❤️🐱 Thankyou or the video. I gave my boyfriend a pilea. Didn’t know exactly what was going on with the babies I have been seeing Look forward to more videos
I am very much a beginner, I live in freezing cold Canada and I have had this plant since September of last year. He sits in north facing window with a good view of the sky. I let him dry out to drooping and dry enough to pull the whole thing out of the pot and that's when I water. Then he perks right up!. It has grown over twice the size since I've gotten it, and growing many babies. Easiest plant I've ever had. He's my fave.
Such great timing that this was the plant of the week, I just noticed over the weekend my Pilea has sprouted a little baby!! I'm so excited to propagate when she gets big and strong enough! Love your videos, and love Muffin's cameo!
Excellent vid and bonus kitten won a subscribe--- I followed a "pilea are okay for low light" advice and a previously healthy plant is now sad and being nursed back to health. The taco test is gold, thanks so much.
I just ❤ this little beauty. I've wanted one for the longest time, but this is the first video I've seen on how to care for one, and I'm so glad I watched. It doesn't seem fussy, and I have the appropriate light for one. YAY! Thanks so much, Nick. Great informative video. ❤ 😊
LIVING FOR MUFFIN!!!! my boy black cat coffee is her literal twin (with one less eye lol) and loves his attention. You are my fav Nick, love the way you share information. Ive been caring for a pilea pep for almost a year now and i remember referencing your first video. overtime they really create their own unique shape which is what i think draws attraction to growing one. Happy New Year!
Thank you for this video! My plant was doing well until I moved it off the windowsill, when it started dropping leaves. They're now back in the windowsill, and I'm making sure that I'm watering it properly now
And this episode with special guest star Muffin! Im jealous! I had one of these plants. I tried less water, more water, less light, more light, more humidity and it punished me by dropping all of its leaves. 95% of the plant died. I took the other 5% and now I’m trying to water propagate it. We will see what happens, but I’m still upset…. 😢
What Ive recently learned, while my other plants want humidity, this plant wants dry! Like super dry, dry enough to lift the whole plant with roots and soil right out of the pot and then water! It will droop like crazy and that's a good thing! And then once you water it, it's so happy and will burst with new growth!
Thank you for this video, my plant has started dropping leaves so I will be moving it to a sunnier spot! Would you be able to do a help tip video on the Calathea Medallion plant? I've got one that thrived in the summer months but isn't doing so well in the winter!
I think I'm on my 3rd pilea... I'm not giving up:) River, my Dalmatian, was so enthralled by Muffin walking around that she would try and get her, behind my laptop, when Muffin went off screen:) So cute!!
I appreciate you mentioning the taco test from time to time because I forget about that test. I have killed about 3 of these. I’m strange because when I can’t keep a plant alive, I continue to buy them until I keep them alive ! Lol. Currently I have four big beautiful pilea at my home now.
My four Pilea Peperomioides were suffering from a lack of water - I just got a reminder to water them, so while watching they got some much-needed water. One of them will get a new home, it was suffering, where it lived.
Just subbed. I’ve seen your videos wondering my feed and this video did it for me. I was going to look one up today and yours happen to just show up and blew my mind how easy this plant is. Thank you so much. Keep them coming!!
My leaves dropped but ever since, have kinda slowed in producing more leaves, this video is helpful. Thank you. And yes, Muffin is definitely needing attention. It is a very important part of your family as Pumpkin is to ours.
Just discovered your channel and l'm so happy because you have just given me some very useful tips on keeping this particular plant alive and happy. I was having so much trouble trying to figure out how much water it needed but the taco test will be so helpful! Thanks!!!
Hi Nick! I found one of these a few years ago, but it didn't last very long. I may need to try one again. It was so much fun seeing so much of Muffin! She definitely wanted some loves and attention. She's such a pretty kitty. I call my little fur baby sweet pea, too! Thank you so much for sharing!
Brill Vidio again Nick. Im gonna buy this plant tomorrow as just seen them in Lidl supermarket so again the timing of me seeing this Vidio is spot on. I've been wanting one for so long and it's only £3.99 p. about $5. ( unsure on the £-$ difference.) Thanks Nick for your work and enthusiasm.
I bought one from Menard's a couple months ago and the plastic info tag has "Water: Daily" for the requirements! Glad I haven't stuck to that. Yours is a nice overall round shape, hopefully mine looks like that soon! That cat is so sweet, just leave her be in all the vids 💕 Thanks for your explanations, I always learn something from you!
Your cat makes the video so much more interesting! Lol 😂 The best! Thanks for all the good info. Your little plant is so cute! I just got one and I can’t wait to see it grow! Good video, thanks 😊 👍
We have 2 black cats.. Gina and Wesley Snipes!! Plus 3 other indoor cats.. and many outside cats that we feed and are taking to get fixed! My son is the cat whisperer!
I have been watching your videos for a couple of months now and you are such a great help in helping me decide on which plants to get and how to care for them! I'm seeing this particular video at the perfect time since i just ordered it off Etsy. It's been hard to find here for me (Texas). Again love all your videos and Muffin!
I love you and all of your videos. I watch them right now as im going through a touch time in life. Keeps my plant journey on point. Plants are helping me deal with a death., So thanks for your videos but THIS ONE TOOK THE CAKE! Sweet Pea acts like my cat lol so needy. YOUR FACE lol thanks for posting this take as is
Would you be able to tell why my Pilea peperomioides is dropping the lower leaves and the new leaves are growing in curved (almost like the top half of a Pokémon ball)? I’m assuming she needs more light, but that didn’t seem to help either when I tried it for a while before…
Omg your cat looks EXACTLY like mine 🙀🥺 (and no not all black cats look alike lol!) I just got a baby pilea pep and decided to check out this video and I’m glad I did!
I am a balcony gardener and have just started my indoor plant collection or rather have started migrating some plants inside. I have been binge watching you videos all day. lol Love your content very informative. Muffin made me subscribe. lol I have a black catto too. I would love a video on beautiful houseplants that aren't toxic to cattos or fur babies for everyone else or any tips you have to keep them away from the toxic houseplants if you were to have them.
I just bought a pilea yesterday and it looks like a Chinese money plant at price chopper while waiting for my appointment to get my haircut it was only 3.99
Ok so my PP is a long trunk and just maybe 7 leaves at the top. My question is, will it grow more leave on the bottom at some point? (I think I was overwatering) or will it just keep growing them from the top as it gets taller? Thank you!!!❤
Hi Muffin!!! 🥰🥰🥰 I actually had two of these plants and gave one to my son’s girlfriend. What I’m confused about with mine, is that the leaves curl the opposite direction of yours. Like, your leaves cup upwards, mine are cupped down. I hope that makes sense. Does that mean anything? I only water it about every two weeks and it’s in a southeast window. I’d appreciate any advice! Thank you for sharing! 💜💚🪴🌵
My Pilea is NEEDY! It is directly under a bright grow light and in a self wicking pot because it’s a THIRSTY plant! The leaves are the size of my hand though so I think I’m doing something right 😅
I keep performing the taco test on mine, but it feels like its...always pliable. Even when the moisture meter says it's still in the damp range. (I'm going to repot it in case the issue is the soil.)
I need this video. Lol mine is growing and making babies but also keeps loosing leaves and the leaves are hardining off weird they aren't flat they are cupped like little umbrellas.
Thanks for the video. my plant is losing its lower leaves and has a baby about 2 inches tall. So I separate them?? I have them in a plastic pot and then a terracotta to hold them in. I'm going to move her closer to the window it's a north window.
I was gifted a baby a couple of months ago..I kept it outside in full sunlight and it didn't really thrive. No new leaves, kind of yellowed. I finally brought it in when the temps dropped, and I also noticed the soil would dry out super fast, maybe too fast so I transplanted it with new soil. Still no growth after about 3 months until very recently it squeezed out a couple of leaves. What am I doing wrong?
I've had 4 Pilea Peperomiodes , all bought this year, all dead now. I love them but maybe not suited to my too warm house in the Caribbean??? Don't know.
Oh my God the cat moments are priceless, your knowledge is so impressive, love it! ❤

May we have a video on muffin care next???
Love the fact that your cat decided to take over this video 😹 Thanks for the tips!
Muffin completely stole the show in this video. 😻
Muffin is soooo adorable oh my gosh!!!
I just got my first houseplants as an adult a few days ago, thank you so much for the advice! Also I’m a wildlife conservationist and your cat has the most beautiful healthy coat and looks to be in good condition so you must be good at caring for multiple life forms!
Ok I love Muffin. Your face just lights up everything she crashes into you. We need more Muffin.
I just received this guy for Christmas from my daughter. Thanks for all the tips
I love muffin whipping you with her tail ❤️🐱

just melted over and over again with those cat moments ❤😂

I just got one for Christmas. Thank you for this video.
Your instructions are clear. I really enjoy your instructional videos. Love the kitty!
Just subbed. I’ve seen your videos wondering my feed and this video did it for me. I was going to look one up today and yours happen to just show up and blew my mind how easy this plant is. Thank you so much. Keep them coming!!
Love your videos! I just had to go find one to purchase before even watching the whole video. Next, the right light. Thank you! ♥ ♥ ♥

Hi Nick! I found one of these a few years ago, but it didn't last very long. I may need to try one again. It was so much fun seeing so much of Muffin! She definitely wanted some loves and attention. She's such a pretty kitty. I call my little fur baby sweet pea, too! Thank you so much for sharing!
I'm realizing I've been giving mine way too much light, no wonder the leaves keep falling off! Thanks for the info, hopefully mine will survive.

I was recently given one of these little ones! I love the "UFO" look of it... I learned a lot from this video! Thank you

Very useful video
Happy gardening

Awww I love muffin
I had spider mites on a ufo plant, it was so hard to get rid of them.
I hope you tell us of the curling of the leaves
could you do string of turtles next if you still have one?
I gave up this plant 😢😂 it’s been dropping the bottom leaves. Not sure if it needs more light or i overwatered it. Lol
i got my pilea with like 4 leaves in a 2 inch pot for like 3 bucks in the summer LOL
Thumbs up for Muffin!
The plant reminds me of the Jetsons

My leaves are very light green in color. I have it in an east window. Is it getting too much sun?
