i had some mackerel cooked by my mum some 50 years ago straight out of the sea in Cornwall grilled with a salad. it remains the most memorable fish meal ever

Finally someone who takes an awesome, fresh ingredient like Mackerel and cooks it without covering his own flavor with pointless seasoning. A hint of salt and in the pan. That's how it should be done all the time. Thanks.

It looks good but I would not put any salt or pepper on it . It doesn't need it . Same with beetroot salad , who wants that .

cheers Mac, , reallyappreciate your comment mate, im trying to create actual easy and tasty simple dishes.which is sometimes what the tv chefs dont do, they all assume people allready have a certain amount of culinary knowledge but they forget most people don't although like myself we buy the cookbooks but don't necessarily cook from them, cause they can be to hard to follow , so hopefully with my channel im demystify cooking and making dishes that are simple and achievable. all the best from the UK. many thanks. Best, simplest mackerel dish EVER! Plus fabulous un-fussy filleting instructions. I've always been one of those people trying to like mackerel, but always struggled to enjoy it, whether I or someone else cooked it. I've made this twice now, and now I agree that mackerel is delicious. Plus, that stonking pickled beetroot salad (I've been unable to get good damson jam so used blackcurrant instead - works beautifully). Thank you for changing my fish eating habits for ever...

I’ve invested in a smoker. Breakfast of kings. Smoked Mackerel, poached egg, home made sourdough. I used to farm in Dorset. The local shoots could never use all the game. I volunteered as a beater. Came home with pheasant, duck, snipe, pigeon, even geese. . Great deal if you beat, exercise and free game. Best was in deer season. Muntjacs were great eating.

ive been catching so many mackerel just lately , I love em, ive been eating them for breakfast and dinner pretty much every day for the past month, been catching little joeys, so sweet, three or four little fillets pan fried in the morning, rounds of buttered toast mmm, had them in sweet n sour stir fry, tried them in a bun like a mackerel burger, and topped with melted cheese for a mackerel cheese burger, fried with potatoes, roasted with vegetables, and so fresh, I live opposite worthing pier, can catch them and have them in the pan under thirty minutes, mmm, ill miss them when they are gone, wont be long now its late September, mmm nice job of filleting them good video
