The peppers, chilli and capers, sugar and lemon are a brilliant side for oily fish! For me, this recipe has fired off lots of improvised quick, fresh and tasty garnishes. Thanks for this one!
If you never had fish in polenta flour you should really try it. That's my mom's favorite way to cook fish and like Genaro said it's good for most kinds of fish not just mackerel. My mom did salmon this way, served with potato cooked in butter and it was delicious!
Delicious combination of flavors, the top four: sweet, salty, acid and sour in a single recipe, simple and very easy to do. What's more, there is still the only one in mackerel flavor, joining the quintessential umami, something that only a master like Gennaro Contaldo could, without seeking it. Genial! Thanks for sharing! God bless you Gennaro!
Just made this tonight and used king fish (local market didn't have mackerel). Such a simple sauce yet packed with flavour - never going back to restaurants again! Thank you Gennaro.
Wow - that seemed so TASTY!!! I loved it! Unfortunately, mackerel is so hard to find here in Stockholm!! But i would love to use another fish. Also, I have a question. Why can the flames go up because he was pouring in lemon juice? Is it the combination of sugar and lemon juice or is it just the lemon juice itself that can cause the flames to go up? I had actually never heard this before.... Thanks Gennaro - I love your teaching and inspo!!! Lots of love from Sweden.
Oh god this is perfect, just came home from fishing. was only out for 2 hours and got about 150kg with mackerels! 2-8 fish everytime !!! (Norway) My little boat was FULL lol! Gonne go to my local store and buy the ingrediense to make this dish
For mackerel/herring/sardines I just do the chilly/turmeric/coriander paste and pan fry them. I don't think there is really any better way to do them. Shallots and garlic and some curry leaves maybe.
Hey I love your channel, I've only just discovered it and already I've made many of the dishes shown. I was wondering if you had a recipe for lasagne, its one of my favourite dishes and I really want to see your take on the dish.
That really does look so good, hope he shared it with the camera crew, must be a nightmare trying to hold the camera steady with all that wonderful food around and we don't get the aromas. Thank You Gennaro. Can you put up the Italian title for the dish, like in Gennaro's books, looks a bit more "poetic", Thank you.
I should ask my fishman ?? Does Gennaro know, that there are countries without sea around? Like Czech republic, Slovakia, Austria, Serbia, Moldovia, Switzerland etc. So no, I can´t get fresh sea fish. Only frozen.

I'd be so happy if I was able to eat a dinner cooked by Mr. Gennaro Contaldo. Why is he cooking so good?

Mackerel is my favourite fish, blows my mind that it's not more popular
In my country fried mackerel is like a cultural dish
@@scoop5263 where You from Aaron?

I don’t know about you but if mackerel were more popular we’d be driving the fish to extinction.

"One Tablespoon of Sugar" XD
Pours in half a bag
¿The polenta is pre-made?
+Eduardo Molteni It's cornmeal. I always thought polenta was a dish made from cornmeal, not just plain cornmeal, apparently not.
+huggie74 The title says polenta.
Eduardo Molteni
I know, that's the Italian name for corn meal.
Squeeze a whole lemons XD
What are those berries full name? I can't find them
+CyniuxD caperberries. you heard of capers before, yes?
Wooo, it's capers before they're capers? : O

Most fish is frozen at sea anyway even if you live on the coast, freshly frozen is fine
