And he was very sick to boot. So I'm sure he was surprised that he hit those notes and that's probably why he was smiling. I mean, what a boss Eddie Vedder was and frankly he still is.
I remember being in middle school and playing in band and kicking it with my bandmates who were predominantly white skater kids. They opened the door for me with the grunge movement and I am appreciative for it. Opened my eyes to so many other forms of music as a black kid other than rap and hip hop that I was use to listening to. Music is universal. Still listen to these classics to this day and it just take me back to when grunge was just popping! LOVE IT!
The sound of his voice on this song helps me through tough times. When I'm sad, bored, angry or just need to be calmed down to go to sleep..this is my tonic.
I grew up listening to Pearl Jam cause my parents are fanatics and every one of the countless shows they go to they just stand in the crowd singing and crying 🥺
Yeah, I get kind of sad when I watch these old shows and remember how young they--and we--were and how all this was still new and exciting for them--and us.
Mixed voice actually, no hooty-flooty falsetto. It's mainly head voice but mixed with a gulp of chest voice. That's why it sounds "round" and "full" 😊 Cheers from a singer

No they sure won't. Not as long as we're still alive and kicking and passing it on to our kids and grandkids anyhow. My son, who was born just a year before they performed this, listens to some god awful new age heavy metal which thoroughly sucks, but I have faith he'll come back to his roots in grunge someday lol.
Sweet Jesus. There are no words for this performance...... I saw these guys in 1993 in London..... I was 17 it was utterly magical. I met Dave in the crowd and he was a delight. It's a song that leaves any normal emotional human breathless......
With this performance, I particularly like the smile that appears on Eddie's face at 0:56 when he nails the falsetto. It's like he's thinking "oh, yeah, I nailed the note!" Just an impeccable performance of a great song!
I go into a trance when I’m listening to them… Just like in the 90s’ in the first time I heard them… was just a young teen. Now I’m 43 and still feel the same. True Legends 🖤

Eddie is perfect... besides having the most beautiful voice and the incredible sensitivity of a poet, he is also the most beautiful man in the world. I love it too much
His transition from his baritone voice to his falsetto is absolutely flawless in every way
Ruby Lea exactly probably as perfect as it gets

When Eddie hit that note, he smiled. He’s the end-boss of vocals.
It’s a vocal technique but your point still stands :)
