    Phoenix
During Ice Cube's set at Lollapalooza, a very loud version of 'Hunger Strike' is heard coming from the parking lot. Actually, it is coming from the Lollapalooza side stage, where Eddie and Chris are jamming to a very lucky crowd. Ed gets mobbed by fans as he walks off the stage towards the side gate without any security.

That would most likely cause the stage to collapse, form a black hole and swallow most of the inner solar system.

These years was a war in Balkan, but not in my province, and in all that chaos, sanctions, inflation and poverty, my generation had a great time listening the big 4 from Seattle and other great bands. The good music connect people and finds it's way to the most remote places on our planet.

"When we started rehearsing the songs, I had pulled out "Hunger Strike" and I had this feeling it was just kind of gonna be filler, it didn't feel like a real song. Eddie was sitting there kind of waiting for a (Mookie Blaylock) rehearsal and I was singing parts, and he kind of humbly-but with some balls-walked up to the mic and started singing the low parts for me because he saw it was kind of hard. We got through a couple choruses of him doing that and suddenly the light bulb came on in my head, this guy's voice is amazing for these low parts. History wrote itself after that, that became the single." - Chris Cornell

"It was during that same week that I was up there [In Seattle rehearsing with Pearl Jam]. Day four maybe, or day five, they did a Temple [of the Dog] rehearsal after our afternoon rehearsal. I got to watch these songs, and watch how Chris [Cornell] was working, and watch Matt [Cameron] play drums. It got to "Hunger Strike" - I was sitting in the corner, putting duct tape on a little African drum. About two-thirds of the way through, he was having to cut off the one line, and start the other. I'm not now, and certainly wasn't then, self-assured or cocky, but I could hear what he was trying to do, so I walked up to the mic - which I'm really surprised I did - and sang the other part, "Going hungry, going hungry." The next time I was up, he asked if I'd record it - so it was just me and Chris in the same studio that we made [1991's] Ten record. I really like hearing that song. I feel like I could be real proud of it - because one, I didn't write it, and two, it was such a nice way to be ushered onto vinyl for the first time. I'm indebted to Chris time eternal for being invited onto that track. That was the first time I heard myself on a real record. It could be one of my favorite songs that I’ve ever been on - or the most meaningful." - Eddie Vedder

He said enjoyed calling instead of his agent! Very down to Earth and later we were able to meet at a Seattle Pearl Jam show so he was able to put a face to the voice on the phone 📱. It never will... Rock is dead and shitty music is taking over. I guess that's what people thought about Grunge when it took over Hair Metal. The problem is that we always have to find fads and focus on those fads so much that we cause artists to overdose and commit suicide solely because they are too stressed by the situation. I mean, maybe in the future some form of rock will be prevalent again, but sadly we can never go back to this generation. I never saw Nirvana, Alice in Chains, or Soundgarden and I feel like although I'm not the biggest Pearl Jam fan, I should see them and Eddie before something else happens, god forbid.

Never get this awesome age of grunge back again. Chris Cornell man, miss you so much! Mother love bone, nirvana, Soundgarden, Alice n chains, stone temple pilots, blind melon, Pearl Jam. Man you just don't get better and so sad all have passed pretty much. This is real music, all could sing acoustic so unreal! Voices no one can ever match! So sad.

That's when you know the guys good. When you didn't intend to see them play but hear there music (not by radio air play or hype) , think for yourself that they sound AMAZING and because of there voices you come running. That's the real power of music and song. Back then Chris and Eddie were still pretty new. Sure they had some songs on the radio but they defiantly weren't as popular as they soon will be come the next year or so.

No, Chris looked over because it was a "get ready to sing the chorus again" look check,,, Eddie was playing exact rythym guitar that goes with the lead guitar melody that chris is playing,, The look of frustration I believe was possibly a little insecurity because at that time 1992 ,, Both vocalists I believe where far more comfortable having their band mates playing the guitar, , Therefore they are more (Chris at least) comfortable singing with the band, and not playing and singing at the same time,,, also un rehearsed, It's 25 years later today,, wow, and by now Chris is very comfortable playing and singing together (acoustic Cornell ) And after 25 years they are no longer new amateur Pro's, , They are Now Veteran Professionals, ,,, Until Chris checked out not long ago,, dang it Chris,,,, THIS IS MY OPINION, NOT TO START ANY ARGUING

He is still better off than most singers after over 25 years of solid performing. Bear in mind that during the Superunknown tour Soundgarden were doing 5-6 shows a week. Then listen to King Animal, not quite the same but very close to how his voice used to be. His voice is still brilliant when you take that into consideration and compare him to, for example, James Hetfield or someone at a similar age with a similar career length

Tragic. Feels like we've lost our family's... now with Cornell gone. Grunge is Dead. Punk isn't REALLY dead. Physically, GRUNGE IS DEAD, almost! The greatest leads!
