Nina j cleeve it’s not a cm thick but I do have it slightly thicker than some plus my customers never complain about it anyway. I have found that if the paste is too thin that’s when it will tear or you get elephant skin. when you use the smoother it gets thinner as you have to trim the top
True I m always worried using to much as I got ppl saying they don’t like fondant. I tried chocodant when I did a black handbags f that tastes yummy so will use that more for carved cakes but don’t think it’s good for round cakes like this how thick roughly is it fondant ?
@@ninajcleeve9223 It wasn't a cm as that is very thick. i don't roll my paste thin as this is where the paste will tear or you'll get elephant skin. Plus I haven'y had any customers complain over the thickness of the sugarpaste and I've made hundreds of cakes

This is a dummy cake you’re working with in the video. How do you do this with a real cake ? Is the real cake frozen solid so you can flip it and smooth it like this?

Wow amazing what brand of fondant do you use
Renshaw
Quick question would this work if your fondant smoother is straight up and down oppose to the one you have in the video?
Where can i get the grass smoother?
Will the smoother work for buttercream icing?
Perfect
Your fondant is super thick will this smoother only work with thick covered fondant as I don't want my fondant that thick
Came here to ask the same question.
Do you always have the fondant this thick it looks like it’s around a cm+ thick ???? And why if yes

@@ninajcleeve9223 it does depend on which brand of paste you use as the taste isn't so good but that is up to the persons preference.
Pls how can I get your smoother in Nigeria
Yes we have sent some out to Nigeria. If yu want to email me at cakesbycarol@outlook.com I can send over some prices :)
Why is the fondant so thick??? 🤔
Hello Carol
I’m trying to order the smoother but it’s saying I didn’t choose a shipping method. Can I order from the US?
Hi yes you can we’ve sent many to USA
Wow 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️
Is it buttercream or ganache under the fondant?
It was ganache under that one and also works with buttercream too
Does this work with much thinner fondant too??
Yes it does the thickness doesn't matter I personally do it a little thicker to avid any tears etc
@@CakesByCarol thank you!
@@CakesByCarol looking forward to trying it out :)
Thats a lot of fondant. Imo its too thick but the results are amazing! X
Mandy Virdee ...My thoughts exactly.
It’s seems like it’s more than a cm so yes not very cost effective but would love to hear why Carol does this

What fondant do you use?
Janice Armiger Renshaw most of the time
Is it on a board , is that why the base is white
Yes, all my cakes have boards under them
Hi, is that a dummy or a real cake being iced?
It was a real cake
Do you ship to the US?
Jasmine Lima-Marin yes we do
Where can I buy tools like those ones??
Wendy Aguilar There is a link under the video to my website
I used the smoother for the first time, I didn’t get sharp edges?
I'm sorry to hear this, did you watch the FREE video?
@@CakesByCarol yes I did, I used dr oeaker fondant do you think this maybe the issue?
