Lynz, thank you for such a concise, clear video. I have ganache plates, but I'm worried about using them. My cakes start off level, but always end up with a lean by the time I've ganached them. I'm determined to master this technique. Your videos make it look easy. Mo x
You are so welcome. These plates do make it alot easier if you ever struggle to get a smooth finish. They act as a guide as you pull your scraper round.
Thanks for this video tutorial it gives me hope to achieve nice sharp edges and a smooth side cake using the chocolate ganache method, Acrylic plate/disc will be my next project to buy.Would you think this method will be applicable in using a soft icing like non dairy whipping cream?Because I use it in frosting my chocolate cake.

Your cakes are always perfectly icing I hope that I can pick up through osmosis through the phone somehow and get your techniques cuz they are terrific you're so talented and it's amazes me do you think maybe next week you could do something in purple and floral just a suggestion thank you for sharing and again keep on caking

Are you able to get the same effect just using the top plate? And the cake being on a standard cakeboard?
I’ve got quite a few ganache plate never used but just brought 7 inch one says 3mm thick is this enough
