This tutorial and the one on how to marzipan a double fruit cake were brilliant and helped me with making a wedding cake for the first time! Thank you!
Hi, I think you are referring to the alcohol that I brush over the marzipan covering before adding the sugarpaste. It is the glue and also sterilises the surface. You could of course used just boiled water...hoping this answers your question 😊
There is no need. If you have set your buttercream in a fridge, simply run a warm pallet knife over the surface of the buttercream to melt slightly...the soften buttercream will then act as the glue 😊
Thank you for the detailed easy to follow tutorial. I can now work with sugar paste with so much ease

Very beautiful cake. New ideas.
Very helpful Maam Lindy....Thank you..
On the marzipan part, can i use sugar paste instead?
How do you transfer the cake to your covered board once you've finished the Sharp edges? Or do you put it on first before you flip it over?
Beautiful sharp edge. Please, why did you use hot drink on the cake before covering it? Thanks.

Thank you very much. God bless you.
Yes you have perfectly answered my question but can I used alcohol on cake covered with butter cream? Thanks.

I struggle covering my cakes. Once the fondant is on the cake is starts to slide. HELP
