I like the fact that they are showing there are great alternatives to expensive watches (though $2000 is expensive to me) that many can acquire. It’s about the affinity for the watch and the craftsmanship, not about how much can you spend. For some as rich as Kevin to I think recognize that people want to collect watches or have nice pieces but at a real price point.
Kevin and Teddy I swear are my faves for watches, one day I want to get into those $10k+ impossible watches, but watching these vids seriously makes you collect based of value and volume almost having a collection worth as much as 1 watch. Imagine that sheesh

Was curious what the affordable alternative to an F. P. Journe would be. Also felt the Tissot PRX would've been a better alternative to the Royal Oak is it has its own characteristics and is less homage and more affordable than the Lacroix. All in all, great video. You two have real chemistry.
I got it about 6 months ago and I should say that PRX is the best watch money can buy, no doubt about it. I'm just waiting for the release of the gorgeous panda dial PRX Chronograph.
By far my favorite on shark tank. Kevin always tells it like it is. I really liked the relaxed atmosphere of the two of them just chatting about watches. The knowledge that these two have is incredible.
Kevin O’Leary has this tendency to cut the other people off in the middle of a conversation, which is very annoying. Let Teddy finish his sentences please.
When it comes to the world of investing, most people don't know where to start. Fortunately, great investors of the past and present can provide us with guidance.
I cannot tell you how much I enjoy both yours and Teddys perspective on watches. I think it would be great to have Mr Wondeful compare and identify the higher cost knock offs to his real collection!
Longines are SERIOUSLY underpriced and it's a very cool brand with heritage and history. I am amazed the Swatch Group do not hold back production and make these again THE desirable watch as they once were. I am a huge Longines fan.
When I went to the Italian island of Capri, I bought a watch (from a shop called Capri) for 299 euros and I love it. People often tell me it looks like a watch that would cost over 1000 dollars. Capri isn’t a very well known luxury watch brand so I guess people assume I’m rich and have a very expensive watch
A better affordable Submariner alternative than the Oris is the Tudor Black Bay 58. I have both a BB58 and a pre-ceramic Sub, and they wear very similar on the wrist.
I got the Tissot Seastar 2000 for 1000$, ceramic dial, sapphire glass, 600m ISO certified and 80h power reserve. The design is also extremely close to the Submarines, with a nice touch that you can get a subtle green or blue shade in the dial which looks dope. I feel like this is the best value alternative.
These vids are fascinating. His price expectations are so coloured by high luxury pieces he constantly overestimates the price of great, well made affordable pieces by huge margins, and hes so surprised when you tell him what they cost 😁👍. I know you dont sell them, but I'd love to see his reaction to a San Martin.
For anyone looking for a solid alternative to an AP watch, I highly recommend checking out D1 Milano. I’m not selling it, just speaking from experience-I bought mine a year ago and still love everything about it. Sure, it doesn’t have luminated arrows for easy reading in the dark, but honestly, it’s more of a beautiful man accessory to wear than a tool to check the time! It’s an Italian brand that feels as luxurious as it looks, and at around $700, it’s a steal compared to AP prices. Definitely worth a look!
Great video & loved the affordable selections. If Bulova put out a slightly smaller moonwatch, say 40 to 42 mm, those would fly off the shelves. They could do like the military does & call it "Moonwatch Block II".
Never saw this guy before but I agree with all of this! Instant subscribe! I will say v neck undershirts are very useful to wear an undershirt without seeing it under a button down
When a $2,000 watch is considered an affordable alternative to a luxury watch, I know I've stumbled upon the wrong video for me lol The most expensive watch I have was around $600, but most in my collection are more in the $200 range, and I'm very happy with them lol
What are you talking about? $2k isn't luxury but it's something every middle class person could buy if they really wanted to... So it is in fact an affordable alternative
@user-tx4wj7qk4t Oh here we go with the comment commando crap. I don't recall asking for your opinion. Like I said, I'm perfectly happy with my watches, so go bother someone else with your pompous bs.
Just found this channel and love it. I've been collecting watches since the mid 70's. Having grown up in other countries i was able to get stuff that wasn't available in North America. Maybe one day they would feature some of my collection.
Great video as always, but you don't need to get a watch that seems like another, there are plenty of choices with their own character, very unique and more or less affordable, like Rado Captain Cook, the Victorinox INOX or the Hamilton Khaki. From this list I recommend the Bulova Lunar Pilot, a true Apolo heir that even replace Scott's broken Omega up there, on the moon.
Alternative No.1 for the Daytona is still the Zenith chronomaster sport of course! And No. 2 Tudor Black Bay chronograph For the AP royal OAK No.1 alternative girard-perregaux Laureato
the Christopher Ward c60 or the Oris Aquis should've been the Sub alternative. and the Formex Essence is an outstanding option for the RO or Nautilus alternative
@@meandab and @Fmart Mart there is no need to argue. I have researched for both watches (I'm a dress watch guy, so to say that I "researched" for a dive watch means a lot) and let me just say to be fair, the CW Trident series look better on the dial, looking sick with the minute markers and the trident hand, but the Oris offers better selection of colors, also has slightly superior heritage. In another words if you want the sub to be white or black, you might want to go CW, but if you want blue, green, red (the one I researched for specifically was Oris Cherry), Oris' play with color is top 5 in my books, only behind brands more prestigious than it such as H Moser.
@@harrislam Oris has vastly superior heritage to CW. CW was founded in 2004 and it could be argued they don't even have any meaningful watch heritage at all.
@@SCTitan06 I do consider CW having zero heritage, but I only consider Oris having a little bit. When was the last time ppl discuss about which watch to buy and someone brings up "but Oris has great history as a brand'? That happens to something like Hamilton. Not Oris.

In the past, we were able to save up and get our semi-grail watches, but now with the hype pieces going to the stratosphere, these alternatives offer a great value. I hope that the prices go down to earth a bit, but I don't see them going back to MSRP ever.
Days like this i think Kevin ought to be Canadas PM... too bad he's too kind and smart and just knows better. Canada is lost and may never be found again. Great vid, subbed, what a terrific genuine back and forth. Look forward to building my watch collection someday. 😊
Wonderful pieces. I just don‘t think that the Oris is the best choice, though, I‘d rather go for a Tudor. The Hamilton has a killer dial. And the Montblanc/Minerva at the end was a surprise as well, very interesting dial and case back.
If your suggesting a black bay 58, they are now also hard to find and expensive. I think Oris is a good choice. Really bang for your buck choice. In house movement, good dial, independent.
@@anbsmxms8 You may be right. Personally, I‘d go for Omega Seamaster - but that‘s a personal preference. Hamilton offers great watches for the price - I don‘t own one (yet), an Montblanc has very nice dials, especially for business / dress watches.

There are so many brands that offer value, but Longines has the history and cachet behind it. Hamilton also has that history and their designs are recognizable. I am glad you mentioned them because for those with middle-class wages and children to feed and educate, who hope for a comfortable retirement, these are the top two of several companies that allow us to wear and even collect high quality watches that are artfully engineered. The watch industry is starting to price itself out. Smart watches are causing another "quartz" dilemma and the mechanical watch industry may be targeting only one side of the income divide.

Then I knew Teddy for sure, will have a very very tough time with this challenge. Staying optimistic, wishing you luck and succes with this nice challenge .-.
sure, and an alternative to being a billionaire is being a millionaire? this is becoming silly now. the idea of a luxury is that it's not available to the vast majority of people. so, affordable is never an alternative to luxury by definition. once it's affordable, it's not luxury.
Yes, I have bought from MAMACOO more than once. I even bought a new Omega Speedmaster which came with the fancy box and packaging. I am thrilled with all my purchases here. I would purchase from MAMACOO again for sure.
It would have been nice to see some really shameless homages thrown into the mix here. Teddy is just too proud to do it 😂. Something that immediately comes to mind is the Steinhart Ocean One as an alternative for the Submariner. It’s a high quality piece that you would have to look at from 3 feet or less to tell that it isn’t a sub. The Seiko “Seitona” could have been a better affordable alternative for the Daytona as well. For the Nautilus, could have gone for a Formex perhaps or something else with a more similar case shape to the Nautilus. Or a Ball, with their engineer bracelet. The Tissot Ballade and the Aikon were spot on. 👌 Those probably would be my choices for the datejust and AP as well. Overall, loved the collab, as always! Kevin - you and Teddy have both really inspired me to get into collecting as a hobby and loving watches. Still some of my favorite videos on UA-cam when you guys get together. I need a bottle of O’Leary fine wine next time I’m showing someone my watch box.
Or even not so nice homages. I bought a Reginald Submariner homage for about $43, that A) keeps better time than my real Submariner, B) has a crystal that doesn't scratch like my Submariner does, and c) that I don't panic when I can't find it and temporarily misplace it. It's shower waterproof and that's probably about it, but I just take it off when I'm going diving and put my Casio dive watch on.
@@ralphholiman7401 Exactly! I own a few Pagani Design homages for around $100-$140. Automatic, stainless steel, ceramic bezel, 100M water resistance. I understand that that level of homage is basically the antithesis of what Teddy promotes in terms of "real value" propositions on the market. But, for the price.... candidly it's hard to beat the value.
Amazing, I watched this with interest as I want to buy a watch for everyday use to save my Omega. After this great presentation I think I will be looking closer at the Tissot range.

Honest opinions from both of these watch enthusiasts, are very satisfying and appealing. Thank you Gentlemen.
Kevin and Teddy together a great chemistry when talking about watches…so many insights on high end and not so high end watches 😍👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻
Imagine that sheesh
the more and more I listen to Mr. O'leary the more I respect him. I wonder what he would say about Invictas...? Yes I know, I said invicta.. i own about 15 and love em. I am now looking to make a move on my first Breitling.. But Kevin is awesome...
Was curious what the affordable alternative to an F. P. Journe would be.
Also felt the Tissot PRX would've been a better alternative to the Royal Oak is it has its own characteristics and is less homage and more affordable than the Lacroix.
All in all, great video. You two have real chemistry.

@@Jack.Napier I got the green dial prx powermatic a week ago. Its a perfect watch. Like it more than my more expensive ones

Is it decorated with colorful stones by any chance?
Love how these videos show Mr. Wonderful is a man of the people.
A better affordable Submariner alternative than the Oris is the Tudor Black Bay 58. I have both a BB58 and a pre-ceramic Sub, and they wear very similar on the wrist.
I'd think the Invicta Pro Diver automatic should have been considered
yessir.
Blue dial blue bezel my fav
I got the Tissot Seastar 2000 for 1000$, ceramic dial, sapphire glass, 600m ISO certified and 80h power reserve. The design is also extremely close to the Submarines, with a nice touch that you can get a subtle green or blue shade in the dial which looks dope. I feel like this is the best value alternative.
This conversation is as mesmerising as these watches. I feel like I sitting with them; learning how gentlemen converse.

I would say that the Tissot Prx Powermatic 80 is even a better alternative to the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak than the Maurice Lacroix Aikon
°°°°°°°°°°°°
No, I own both Tissot Prx and ML Aikon, I love ML Aikon more than Tissot Prx - especially when wearing it, it's gorgeous
S.m are so sweet too and make some really high quality pieces in the 400+ range.but even their entry watches are great 👍 👌
For anyone looking for a solid alternative to an AP watch, I highly recommend checking out D1 Milano.
Having grown up in other countries i was able to get stuff that wasn't available in North
America. Maybe one day they would feature some of my collection.
I wish you two just start a podcast over watches and wines…
Yesss!
I agree this has peaked my interest.
That should be the name "Wines and Watches"

Great video as always, but you don't need to get a watch that seems like another, there are plenty of choices with their own character, very unique and more or less affordable, like Rado Captain Cook, the Victorinox INOX or the Hamilton Khaki. From this list I recommend the Bulova Lunar Pilot, a true Apolo heir that even replace Scott's broken Omega up there, on the moon.
Glad to see Tissot here. I have the gentleman powematic 80 silicium and it tells the time so beautifully. Tissot is great quality

Alternative No.1 for the Daytona is still the Zenith chronomaster sport of course! And No. 2 Tudor Black Bay chronograph
For the AP royal OAK No.1 alternative girard-perregaux Laureato
the Christopher Ward c60 or the Oris Aquis should've been the Sub alternative. and the Formex Essence is an outstanding option for the RO or Nautilus alternative
The oris aquis was the sub alternative..
Not Oris.
@@harrislam then you need to expand who you talk to. Oris was founded in 1904, even before Rolex. That's 118 years of great brand history and heritage. Period.
I just love listening to you guys and you complement each other perfectly!
Really great video Kevin and Teddy! It’s great to hear about watches outside the mainstream, with as much quality and pedigree.
I like how Kevin shows admiration and enthusiasm for the affordable watches even though he would never be caught dead wearing them
Why you gotta go & take of that gorgeous integrated bracelet of that AP Kev... You probably got Genta turning in his grave. But that's still way better than drilling it & putting some aftermarket diamonds on it

As a watch enthusiast with NO budget, thank you AMZWATCH for great-looking mechanical watches that I can afford! their are very clean, classy look, $150 each. I still watch videos about expensive “proper” watches, but I enjoy what I have
In the past, we were able to save up and get our semi-grail watches, but now with the hype pieces going to the stratosphere, these alternatives offer a great value.
Zodiac Seawolf anyone?
I like the 2nd Watch and the price is less than 2000 U$S WR 200 M Sapphire Crystal and a SW200 movement

Just got my first Audemars Piguet Royal Oak and will be purchasing my next AP in Skeleton with Tourbillon movement! My collection has just begun.

Absolutely love these collabs. You both should go watch hunting in LA like the collab you both did in Miami. Great perspectives.
This is the home shopping network for working professionals. It's amazing.
Such an exciting video. I’d love to see more alternatives to luxury watches videos.
sure, and an alternative to being a billionaire is being a millionaire? this is becoming silly now. the idea of a luxury is that it's not available to the vast majority of people. so, affordable is never an alternative to luxury by definition. once it's affordable, it's not luxury.
Yes, I have bought from MAMACOO more than once. I even bought a new Omega Speedmaster which came with the fancy box and packaging. I am thrilled with all my purchases here. I would purchase from MAMACOO again for sure.
7:26 has got to be one of the best looking watches I've literally ever seen

Professor Xavier is a watch lover? WOW, now im in!
Yeh I was hoping for the Steinhart too. But I had it on my wrist so I just looked down.
The quality still blows me away
Tissot PRX for the Royal Oak would also have been a great pick imo
That first watch from Hamilton is absolutely drop dead gorgeous
I am almost laughing out loud when Kevin goes ”woooow” after hearing Teddy reveals the price on the watches 😂 Funny every time! Golden ❤️

These are not affordable lol
Amazing, I watched this with interest as I want to buy a watch for everyday use to save my Omega. After this great presentation I think I will be looking closer at the Tissot range.
The Bvlgari Finnissimo is also a good alternative to the AP, since the watch is also a Genta design, and the watch shop Bvlgari uses is actually the old Gerald Genta workshop/brand.
