@MidnightPodcastGaming It is a great game & not sure why as every game, even modded ones work nicely but, guess it shows that nothing is perfect:) Hopefully more patches & an update on the modders part will sort it soon :)
Still enjoying the discs on mine. But will probably be switching to a mod unless we get a analogue playstation or someone starts making good quality replacement drives.
That's a early PAL European model, you could see the revision model at the back with SCPH-NNNN, N refering to the Number on the back It's pretty cool to see modded PlayStations, even custom case mods like transglucent color versions of it, it's wild and simply amazing to find these. I wish more PlayStation modding were existing as it's quite exciting to see people custom make stuff for it. If you are simply trying to play games from other regions or playing back of copy of games from a regular CD-R copy of a game that you've personally backed up, then I'd suggest either buying a American, Japanese/Asian console to play other regions. Plus, I would recommend playing on a soft modded memory card to be able to play any game that you personally have backed up. Due to legal issues. For all things else, emulation is also available, but yeah, it's really fun to see this in action. I personally have a memory card with a soft mod, meaning the original hardware is not tampered with but in software it writes a temporary fix into memory and allows the console to play backup copies of games which is well needed for preservation purposes as disc rot becomes a real problem and the only way to play old games in the future will be to have backup copies of CD-R discs available. I've dabbled with all these mods & my favourite was having a chipped PlayStation until I found a good deal on xStation & now it has been my default way but it is good we have all these options & playing PS1 games is now easier than ever :)

The technology of physical media has truly evolved, it's gonna be important to upgrade to modded PlayStations in the future, so you're doing it quite early which is amazing to see. I personally enjoy the discs as it feels more nostalgic you know what I mean? but I do get your point that it will be time to upgrade to something like this in the future for sure, it's definitely a good way to secure the future and preserve games to be able to have that nostalgia as one get older, there's people that are 90 years old and enjoy video games, so I think I'll be up there at age 90 playing on my modded PlayStation in the future. :)
Definitely shop around & also remember other optical disk emulators for this console exist but, in the long run this will be the best way forward :) I still have a PS2 with a functioning disk drive so that takes care of my PS1 needs :)
@@TheAffroShowGameplay My best advice to you is to run a ISO from the flash card inside then use a soft modded memory card to enjoy playing the games from any region. Thank me later. It's a super good way to play games without modifying the hardware. They sell these memory card soft mods on Ebay. Just a great advice I have to give, I am super happy with my soft modded memory card. I can literally play any game out there, and it's been simply amazing.

I'll be honest, I just bought a PS1 to re-live the nostalgia of my younger years, got the tonyhax memory card, got a CD burner, got the CD-RWs, and it started out great until I realized most of my backup games weren't working. I'm getting error messages up the wazoo. It's been a headache. I'm considering doing this.
You may need to use Audio CDs as I hear they are of higher quality & should work better :) This xStation solution & other SD card mods are amazing mind :)

I also still enjoy the disks thanks to the PS2 but I understand still wanting to use them in the future! You paid for them, why not?
