I think you are bringing up a very important and sometimes awkward point. Speaking for myself, the way I discovered I was transgender was through sexual fantasy. Sometimes I'd think about meeting a sexy woman with a penis, other times I'd think about being that woman. I wondered why those thoughts kept coming back.
Before accepting my transgender status I would pay money for hypnotic audios that I would listen to at my work camps, that would "let me be her" for the night and I would imagine myself a desirable woman.
Wanting to feel sexy and desirable is a common way to feel feminine I think.

Wow Darci! Way to hit it in the nail. If you're talking about erotic feminizing hypnosis and stuff then me too! I'm totally into it even now after my transition - cept I find it got imagining myself as a boy being feminized 😂But seriously though it is a topic not widely discussed Partially because it’s embarrassing and also a little shaming I think for some people. I know before I shared the video about my sexuality here I was very scared sharing it. You can also be misinterpreted very easily I think by others.
I’m glad that you’ve been able to work with pesto and find ways in which you can step into who you really are. I love to see your comments today by the way it’s nice to have you here on the channel!

Very evolutionary perspective on things! Yeah the other evolutionary aspect is an interesting one when you combined it with social aspects and survival it gets very complicated. I tend to agree with what you’re saying but I find it hard to pin it on anything in particular. 💕

You have absolutely no idea what it is to be a woman, you only have an idea based on your autogyniphillia what that may be.

Yeah, talking with other girls that acknowledge who you are is great for feeling feminine and valid.
One of the first things I had done to feel more feminine was growing hair long and getting my earlobes pierced for wearing earrings.
Also wearing feminine clothes, especially things like dresses, girly shorts, skirts and lingerie, is super validating. Makeup is also my way of feeling more feminine, even if it's just eyeshadow or lipstick.
Voice is something I still have some issues with, but I hope continuing practicing will help; If not I'll opt for VFS I guess.
As for validation through having sex, I think it's most important that the person already sees you as a woman before getting physical.
Re: The intertwineness of gender and having sex: I guess you're right for most ppl, but please keep in mind that there are also pansexuals that are 'gender-blind' and really don't have such relation to gender.
As always thank you so much for sharing. I'm happy you're here 🤗

Hi Ashley, I shave my body to remove hair. Paint toe nails different colors. I use a clear coat for fingernails. I have 3 ear rings each ear. Trying to incorporate some feminine gestures and walk a little like a woman walks. Still needs work. I have been lazy about my voice training. This area needs work. I dress up as much as I can. Haven’t come out as trans yet. I also do permanent makeup so I have eyebrows and eyeliner done permanent on my face.

Girl i felt that when you said the doubting parts and thinking that you're faking it i actually thought that it really might be that for a long time cause i never heard from any other trans Person that they feel those feelings too which was really happy to hear . Also i was able to buy a lot of makeup on the weekend which makes me so happy because now i can put make up on more.
Also with the voice i've been getting some more Practice in and do more research on how feminine and male people talk for example the vocals how the pronounciacion sounds so yeah it's been going great . But i'm still trying to get the courage to try exercicing my voice in school but i think i'm getting more courage from your videos which i'm really thankfull for .

Love your content! I'm pretty new into my transition so any time I can find good content creators in that space I'm 100% there. Nails are also a great way to feel more fem, if you are still early and worried about others harassing you, you can just work on your toes until you're comfortable. I've done that and I've also gone big into clothing. Fashion is something I avoided before transition, I think partially because I'm trans, so now I've started a mini horde of clothing and am slowly getting rid of the masc stuff as I replace it. I was super lucky because my sis had a ton of stuff she was giving away that I could take so it gave me a head start.

One thing I like to have to feel more feminine especially if you’re early into HRT and haven’t quite gotten boob growth, a push-up bra can be so amazing. I absolutely love it and it’s so validating to have bigger boobs that look natural like how they look in a push-up bra.
I’ve mentioned it plenty of times before but I’m definitely working on voice training and would love a follow-up video on voice, I watched your previous video a little bit ago and it seemed to cover some basic things I already knew but I’m struggling with maintaining and holding my feminine voice. I also think sometime I like overcompensate the voice and it makes me not want to practice in public because I think it sounds like too much and I’m very introverted and don’t want to draw extra attention too myself. I don’t know if you have any tips related to my problems but regardless I’m always on the look out for new femme voice training videos and tips to help me out.
Also just want to say I’m kind of excited for the inner voice video. That’s been something that I’ve really been good about (I think), and I’d love to hear other perspectives on it and if anyone in the community is struggling with it, I think I focused video is a great idea because inner voice is so powerful for me and I think that it could be great for other people.
I always feel like I write a lot down in the comments. Ashley, is this too much?, because I could probably constrain myself a little bit if it is actually is. Let me know.

    • @AshleyxAdamson
      @AshleyxAdamson  4 роки тому +1

Hi Rachel! No don’t feel the need to constrain yourself! Sometimes I do you get overwhelmed with just try to read through all the comments but honestly it means so much more to me to hear your perspective and hear whatever you want to share than it is for you to write like a one liner. Because that means so much less to me and it also makes me feel like it doesn’t mean much that what I’m creating has any impact. It just sometimes takes me longer to get back because I want to fully absorb what’s written but know that I really really appreciate these things that you share. As for voice lessons I will totally make a follow up do you have any questions or areas that you feel like you’re stuck on that I could maybe address. One thing I’ve noticed with some women is they’re not very good at The larynx height. I can’t tell though without hearing your voice.

    • @pqRachel
      @pqRachel 4 роки тому +1

@@AshleyxAdamson Well I’m glad to hear that you appreciate my lengthy comments, that’s very nice to hear. With regards to voice training, I think that my main problem is consistency and lack of practice. Like I can kind of raise my larynx and I can increase my pitch, but I’m just not able to do both together consistently without really focusing and then that sounds unnatural because I’m not speaking freely, I’ll be so focused on sounding how I would like instead of focusing on saying what’s on my mind.

Dancing and moving in a very feminine way is what helps the most to experience my femininity -also earrings, pretty head scarves (good for the bald area!) leggings and always wearing womens underwear as knowing I've got the right underwear on feels very affirming wherever I happen to be at the time.

It is sad that because society values woman as sexual objects many times above all else, that we end up feeling weird when we want to indulge that side of ourselves. I would like to unabashedly be in that sexy role sometimes, but there is a bit of weirdness in my head about, "Is this the face that I should feel good about putting forward?" My bold side says yes! My eye to society and breaking the stereotypes makes me question if I should. It doesn't help to be on the older side of things. You are right, I never felt sexy as a person in the male role. Good video as usual.

I can definitely relate to feeling validated as a woman by wearing skirts/dresses and doing my makeup. I think the other thing that also really helped validate me was conversations with other women just as girlfriends. Honestly that just helped me feel like I was perceived as a woman and that I was part of "the group" so to speak rather than just a dude trying to act like a woman.
I will admit that sexual experiences have never been particularly empowering/validating for me, largely b/c I'm asexual. I'm glad to hear others get validation from that though.
Voice is definitely something I still struggle with. I've been working on it for a while but it's been slow going. I would like it if you did another video on voice in the future. :D
I do really like that idea of telling yourself to see the woman in the mirror. That's something I've actively started trying to do since I started watching this channel. I haven't had a lot of success so far, but I'll give it time.

I really appreciate you making this video Ashley. It's so important to feel feminine. It's all about capturing this feeling for trans women. If you haven't already, can you talk about how you achieved your voice? I think you're very feminine. Aahh, I see you've already addressed this. How do you deal with your inner "transphobe" and all its attendant insecurities? "Allowing the feminine space to come in" - I like the way you put that Ashley!

Yes I can exactly relate to all that. I feel feminine when I do my nails and wear perfume. Unfortunately I still dress like a guy when I go to work and it messes with my head and people call me Mr or Sir. Makeup and my wig really make me feel like a real woman. I guess the transformation is what makes me feel more feminine. About voices, I don't understand why some trans girls don't try to make their voice feminine. I feel extremely dysphiric about my voice and hips.

When I first ‘crossdressed’ I felt repulsion. In a way I think my face looks feminine already. I have huge eyelashes and the shape of my face doesn’t look very masculine. But as soon as I tried wearing a wig it just highlighted all the masculine traits I don’t usually see in myself. I have incredibly difficult stubble to remove so I just looked like Jesus, it also made me realise I need to groom my eyebrows. I think my nose doesn’t look feminine enough too, which sounds weird but I just perceive it differently when dressing as a woman.

I’m actually thinking of doing this for the next inner work Wednesday episode where we talk about movement and how to reset our own movement and feeling that feminine Grace. Thanks for inspiring me I’m definitely gonna do that for the next Wednesday!

So everytime i hear it i go down deep and prentend im hearing Quinn. That gives me such an awesome feeling and helps me see my true identity
Then when im with all my frirnds and they can see me dressed more feminine and i constantly hear Quinn i feel totally me and complete

Thanks for addressing this! Another important and difficult topic. Personally, I think some of the things that make me feel most feminine are simply wearing jewelry, dresses or skirts, cute women's tops, and heels. The swish of the skirt and the feeling of walking in heels makes me move and sit in a more feminine way (sometimes), and I like that.
But, as an amab non-binary person who is not transfem, who generally presents either boyishly or androgynously, I struggle with how to bring in femininity in a way that might read as feminine in the way a woman is and not feminine in the ways stereotypically associated with gay men.... how can I be feminine in a way that will help me be read as androgynous or non-binary or whatever, and not as "gay"?
Thanks as always for your wonderful content! 🙏

    • @AshleyxAdamson
      @AshleyxAdamson  3 роки тому +1

A big one might be voice. There’s a female gender spectrum and then there’s a male gender spectrum and there’s an in between in terms of the frequency of your voice. And that’s separate from annunciation. The difference between a gay man and a woman in terms of sound is Not the annunciation but the frequency. So if you have a lower her voice but you annunciate feminine leave then you’ll sound like a gay man. Does that make sense?
There’s other ways than your voice I think it’s also how you carry yourself and how you express yourself in your movement.

ooooh, this video touched on several important things for me
first, yes, i left voice training til too late in my transition.
second, i wonder if there's sort of ... there's the moments that chip away at our "masculine self concepts" and there's joy in those moments... then, i feel a reinstatement of the familiar self... the familiar self is waiting for some definitive future moment where the future self dies
isn't that so ... delusional... delusional in the specific cultural ways that men are delusional... like, it's happening RIGHT NOW... the dissolving of the familiar, supposed man-space is happening Right Now. but it's like "i wonder what it will be like to dissolve"
the throughline in all of this
    is guardedness of the heart
and i suppose disassociation / living thru story / buying into a narrative even when everything around u is clearly contradicting it
i'd be curious to hear how u, ashley, and other trans women reading this find
    femininity
to be about a softening/opening of the heart
i think my feminism says "woman is woman, undefined by so called receptivity or openness"
as a trans woman, so much of what my feminism defends ("closed-off women", hairy bodies, etc) w regard to cis women
    is dysphoric on me

As my de ni dentity which is my new word for my denial identity to hide and protect myself from external pressures.
I went through a ringer. External shames and guilts gifted by society in plenty.
When I was younger everyone else did it to me.
When I was older I kept up for them even in hiding.
My de ni dentity became mean and nasty. It hurt me. It stopped protecting me when I became the monster. When I admitted I was the one in the cage. When I realized my external self. Was mutilating my internal self.
Because of internal crying from not being me....
The tears lasted two weeks and the anger and pain magically left.
I walked by my mirror and she saw me!
My tummy she saw me ! I heard her!
I have 5 o clock shadow rn. I have one pair of skinny guy jeans and nothing else.
just Saying listen to the power inside you.
Let your external self. See and hear your internal self.
If your anything like me. She won’t be happy that she was ignored for a lifetime. I had a lot of dangerous risky self talk to me and realized my transition
It’s from my de ni dentity into my flower power. Whatever she wants. I promised myself she’s getting sunlight and water.
I’m not always shading me anymore. And now I glow. Now the sparkle of life in my eye is back. And I know who she is... maybe just a nickname. Maybe her real name. I’ve been patient for a lifetime. I’ll wait for her to share the rest of my lifetime .
    No more shade.

One thing that I have found that emphasises my own femininity since I have become trans are high heels. I have always marvelled at women that can walk in them and have long admired Ginger Rogers for dancing in them. In fact my last wife and I had a long running gag about who gets to be Ginger Rogers when we were moving house. Someone always has to walk backwards with heavy furniture, etc... Respectfully, of her of course. Since finding stilettos in my size (female size 15!) I have practised walking and have discovered that they help with feminising my gait. Seeing video footage of me walking in heels has been very empowering. Damn sexy too, if I don't say so too!
