Recorded live on an off day in Wabash, Indiana, in the back of a tour bus. This is one of the tunes from the show, although we modified the arrangement slightly to accommodate the fact that, you know, we're in the back of a bus.

About Josh Turner Guitar
Josh began making UA-cam videos in 2007. Ranging from popular to esoteric, local to far flung, and playful to serious, Josh’s videos offer a little something for everyone. Josh also performs regularly with long-time collaborator, Carson McKee, as the folk duo The Other Favorites. Josh’s first full-length solo album, As Good A Place As Any, was released in April 2019.

Keyboard is a Nord Stage 3 - Radial JDI
Bass is a 3-string American Fender J with Bartolini's and flats - Aguilar Tone Hammer
"Kick" is a 16' Yamaha floor tom with an sE VBeat mic clipped on it
There was also a Gadd signature snare but you can't hear it
Filmed on a Canon EOS R with a 35mm f/1.8 (set to f/4). Edited in Premiere.

@M Mac they're young.. they have good ears and they can harmonize pretty damn well.. I was born in a musical family my mom and grandfather and aunts sing and play more than one instrument and I tried to sing ever since I was 10 I'm 22 now.. lol no results unfortunately.. I just don't have the range nor is my ear strong enough to listen through multiple layers of notes which is why I made my first comment.
Yes you do of course have to hone your skills and refine it which is clearly seen in the video especially on the high notes but they still have the good foundation to support it
Josh just slides in to any one, or any group, of musical geniuses and makes the recipe divine....... and always has a blast doing it. It's total musical joy. We are so lucky to witness it.
That's probably my favorite thing about these videos - they make it seem like there's this secret society of great young musicians HIDING IN PLAIN SIGHT. And they're all buddies.

You are too literal. They don't have to be only on the bus while they are out riding from place to place on the bus. But, yeah, when I clicked on this video I was also expecting to see them actually inside the bus while playing.

Yet again teaching me that it is best to read the description before commenting -- and proving the accuracy of Alex Cavanna Music's comment. Definitely not the bus I imagined (see link in my prior comment).
There are so many wonderful little details in this video. When the pianist and bassist look at each other like "we're killing this", when the drummer hits that super satisfying high note in the harmony, when the singer with the glasses looks with admiration at the pianist killing that solo. And everyone is just having so much fun. I keep coming back to it. Great great great work!

@@imannonymous7707 Ah, I'm probably wrong. Internet issues yesterday so I guess all of the audio was out of sync. And 2:09 sounded like guitar but it's just their lips.
@@danperlman230 It's probably because the audio was recorded through a DAW and then mated to the video. It's not synced with a worldclock or anything like that just by eye/ear at the beginning of the clip.

@@tsfurlan It's called giving a compliment. But if you want to go into the nitty-gritty, there's no sax solo but a nice piano solo. There is a great harmony with 4 different voices ( which is hard to do just live with that setup) and not through overdubbing Paul Simon 4 times singing in a different key. But most of all it was just a compliment. And in my opinion a better rendition than the original.
One of the best covers ever, I really hope that Paul Simon gets to see this👏👏👏👏

This is memorializing, this is the greatest compliment any artist could receive! Like many others I've listened to this several times and it's a fantastic rendition of a timeless tune. You can't beat live music. One of the best bands I ever heard were a group of students throwing it all together in the attick of a pub, they brought the house down. (Great job guys.)

The technical facility of Josh, the whole a sort magnificent musical statement, is breathtaking. Is there no limit to this musical wonder? The tiny, tiny chord changes at the very start are themselves a source of astonished wonder, at least for me.
