@@Nr15121 You must have never seen the movie. She was supposed to be an FBI SWAT Team leader with dozens of raids under her belt. In the opening sequence she raids a massive cartel safehouse with dead bodies in the walls in a massive gunfight and she's gunslinging like an operator. Because of her supposedly "vast experience" with cartels and raids, she was specifically chosen to join this CIA team. Then somehow just moments later, she acts like she's never been in this type of action before. Completely clueless like it's her first day on the job and a local PD. It's just bad writing period. Nothing can be said to defend that.
When you realize she was there for no reason, just as so the "rules" were followed and nothing else from her, all the questions and uneasiness makes sense in hindsight
Also for Kate ,since she didn't have the complete POV as the other agents, it looked like they just went up to 2 cars and shot it up without seeing the hostile intent that each passenger showed that allowed the agents to fire first and take em all out. To her it was like a murder/cowboy shit but it was by the book.

When I was discharged from military, I became a police officer, so as someone who has a bit of experience in both, here's what I know. Law enforcement officers are just that, law enforcers. They're trained to operate inside the law, they're not trained to do black ops on another country of which the legality is dubious at best. When you're in the military, especially if you're on a duty tour in a hostile country, you're surrounded by hostiles. Everyone you see could be an enemy. A spy, a suicide bomber, a sniper somewhere up above. Your mindset starts to develop this sense of constant vigilance, where every non-friendly is a suspected hostile until proven otherwise. You pull the trigger on the first sign of aggression, not because you want to, but because you need to, your life, and your comrades' life, depends on it. As police, I realized you can't have that mindset. I'm in my own country surrounded by my fellow citizens. Sure amongst them are criminals yes, but most criminals are just petty ones that requires no bullets. You can't apply the same callous mindset and view every fellow citizen as potential hostile. In fact it's the opposite, everyone is innocent until proven guilty. On top of that you're mostly operating in urban areas, where every stray bullet has a much higher chance of hitting civilians. And let me tell you the paperwork for discharged bullets in law enforcement are way more of a nightmare than in the military. That's why police are relatively much less trigger happy than military. And this movie I have to say, has a very good portrayal of that different mindset. Of the contrast between law enforcement and military. It reminds me of how much I had to adjust when I first became a police officer. Not to mention, these are delta, one of the top tier spec ops units, a different breed, they're literally trained to do the dirty stuff, because no one else would (well except maybe DEVGRU, SAS and others, but there's only a few of these in the world comparatively). Emily blunt's character is just not trained for this situation, she reacted as expected, and it is portrayed perfectly.
Messed up things, and also be prepared for your own government to turn their backs on you if shit goes south. The operations he leads are classified and unknown to the public. You know what this guy is capable of in the scene where he asks Kate if she’s married or has any kids, as well as dismissing Reggie as a candidate because he’s a lawyer.

This scene and this movie are a masterclass in tension building.
This movie is slow and arduous, long and tense. I wasn’t sure what I thought about it while watching it but in the end I thought “Man, that was very well done.”
Sicario II: Day of the Soldado is just as good.
Benicio del Toro was perfectly cast for his part.
2015: Super cool action movie
2024: A normal Tuesday in Eagle Pass, Texas.
In El Paso*
LOL - "I told you you stay here". Classic
so many tense moments in this film. I love it.
that double tap by the glasses guy is soooo good! so precise and accurate and not wasting any ammo!
Black glasses guy ready to rock and roll
After watching this clip, I have a sudden Need to watch the whole movie again 👍👍
Lol me too. And it's 3am right now
That did it, gotta go on Prime and watch this movie again. For the 48th time.
4:03 Burn Notice guy "I'm your Huckleberry"
Surprised the dog didn't get an Oscar for this movie. 😅
By far THE BEST SCENE from the entire movie. Radio Erevan says those Spec-Ops guys are for real and been hired especially for this scene. A real masterpiece ! I can't wait for Sicario 3 ❤❤❤
"They won't even make the paper in El Paso." ...Fuck! That's metal.
Also ridiculous. There’s an unwritten rule that says ‘No violence between the government forces’ of these two countries. If this actually happened it would be news 24/7 for a year.
Brolin and Del Toro's performances left Blunt completely overshadowed
After the entire movie, her acting in her final scenes with del Toro blew me away. Reminded me of someone once saying "you will do nothing, because you can do nothing"
brolin? he did nothing special here (relatively speaking). blunt was great as the naive newbie who isn't actuallyclueless but, in a greater sense, is totally clueless. she played it perfectly
del toro was a master class though, a league above the other two
@@BoinkrNanis that phrase was from john wick haha
You guys know its not a competition, right?
"Don't sell yourself short" had me laughing.
Everyone stays frosty. Best advice ever!
One of the greatest films every saw 😂
Greetings from Poland
The fact that I can tell this is at the El Paso/Juarez border makes me so happy. I’ve been looking at those mountains my whole life and immediately recognized my hometown. And just an FYI, El Paso is one of the safest big cities in the country. I’ve lived all over the US and I always go back home. The friendliest most family oriented place I’ve ever lived ❤
The dog though… a nice touch. Well calibrated scene.
Kate acts like a civilian ride along, not a highly trained FBI agent.
FBI agents tend to be kinda weak compared to CIA. Don’t get me wrong both Depts can choke on a chode, but I hate the FBI more
Most fbi agents aren’t that highly trained especially compared to operators. The vast majority ride desks
@veanilla4279 This, she’s honestly about as well trained as I’d expect a regular old fbi agent to be
So, essentially just like an FBI agent
The best Background Music in any movie...made it so intense.
Such a great movie. And Benicio is amazing in it.
this was an awesome shot, feels real, with all the movies of tom cruise which makes money, they are not even 5 % of the acting and the simplicity these guys had. simply amazing
The real gangster is sitting inside the car chewing bubble gum 😂...
Great scene with Emily Blunt playing her role of the naive, idealistic FBI agent. What did she expect to happen? This is a war and shes one of the warriors, like it or not.
That is why we call them federal bureau of idiots.
She was not a warrior.
@@roberttyler1206 She was in the wrong place and job, then. Idealist shouldn't be on the front lines.
@artisaprimus6306 she wanted to be a law enforcer, not a black ops assassin doing illegal operations
Brolin just sitting there chewing gum like he's waiting for fast food.. Guy didnt even flinch when all of that went down. Lol.
One of the greatest movies I’ve watched
Emily Blunts character is woefully naive
The small addition of the barking dog significantly amps up the tension to the scene.
Imagine the things you have to do and accomplish in your military career to have a position like Brolins in this film.
He is just a Brolin.
@@ALLROY240 I'm not talking about the actor specifically lol...
