I like that this is a classic L-shaped ambush but with the support by fire element being a rolling gun position in the form of the two pick up trucks with M240s mounted on them. Then once the UAS was able to eliminate the assault element flanking them from their 3 o'clock it enabled the team to assault through the support by fire element that initiated the ambush. Very cool that they incorporated military tactics into a cartel ambush. Shows how serious the cartel is in capturing the girl. They sent their best guys and had a solid plan, but were outclassed at the end of the day.

The US government kidnaps a cartel boss's daughter to start a cartel war, but they smuggle her into the US and stage a hostage rescue so they can return her to some place in Mexico for questionable reasons, but not covertly this time. Why would they return her at all? Why use ground vehicles, not a plane or helo? Why not just hand her over to the Mexican police at the border?
