My wife did something similar to this making a reversible snowman and scarecrow for the holidays. It lasted through a few years of abuse before the paint faded and nails came loose. She did not glue it together.
I made one of these only out of a single piece of plywood instead of strips of wood. I used a torch to give it a burn look that brought out the woodgrain.
I used a piece of MDF to make a template so I could use a trim bit to easily duplicate it.
Finally I printed the Ohio State logo on heavy bond paper and glued it to a 1/4" piece of plywood and trimmed it out and fastened it to the other piece to give it 3D appearance.
Unfortunately I can't sell it due to trademark laws so it sits nicely on the wall of my basement.
Owning a good cutting machine, and having a good space for wood working is my biggest dream as of now.. hope i get those one day soon 😊
Love the sign!! I wish the command strips worked for me. I used them yesterday, and it fell within an hour
It does look a rather fun thing to do, I got a block planer especially for edges. For cutting the edges I would do it with hack saw an file then sand it by hand before gluing together
Those two bits on back can help keep boards flat with another two not glues on front
Awesome. I would love an Ohio sign like that. Too bad I don't have the wood to make one.

Should have painted it the colors of the state flag
Great Idea. What program are you using for the designs?
As I don't have any of them should I just forget it an not bother trying this with my own home county
Even with a simple hand saw and screws and glue, you could definitely make something like this. And if you sell a couple of them, you could pay for an upgraded saw to speed up the process.
