Acura NSX Winter Drive - Will it Drift in Snow? (POV)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 20 лют 2021
- Acura tossed the keys to this new Indy Yellow Pearl NSX on Sottozero Snow Tires and of course I have to know...Will it slide? But maybe, more importantly, can it be used for fun during the winter months?

Would you daily a supercar in the winter?
I would, if I could ensure that no one would lose control and hit me. 😂
This one, yes
why not?
Yes

When you have to blur out the speedo you know you have done the car justice
tbh in that car it just means you stayed on it for about 4-5s.
The speed was pretty obvious though
@@ronvasserman For legal purposes
@@cosmic_gate476 still makes little sense
@@user-wq9mw2xz3j it makes sense, law enforcement can’t pinpoint a speed which they would need to do
"Give NSX a chance"
Me looking at my wallet only seeing a spare 100.
haha fair. BUT I would assume most people who hate on it are in the same boat
@@TedwardDrives Technically it sa fanastic car. If I had the money, I would not buy it since its design is horrible from one of the worst designers in the car industry. Plus they keep following others in engines since late. They promised a V10 copying BMW M5, then the bad design didn't allow them to fit a V10 so they decided on the V6.
@@wozmac771 also the market crashed around the time they were developing it, so no V10.
@@frosword true but still it was a technical design issue and honda is not a tiny company to be wiped out by a new engine development..
You can live in a car but you can’t drive a house 👀
“Not that brave” *GOES 70 INTO WET ICE CORNER* love the vids man🤙🏼
Acura/Honda need to market this better especially since McLaren is coming out with an "affordable" performance PHEV with the Artura.
I sincerely hope that Honda is ready to compete with another NSX in the coming years. They have such an incredible product
Mclaren Artura Affordable LOL
@@ssaini5028 Who knew 229k for a car was affordable🤨
Honda deserves the credit for introducing the first relatively affordable hybrid supercar. It would be very unfair for McLaren to steal the credit.
@@gboss2147 When you're in mainland China, shit a C63S costs ~$180000 there...and a E63 ~$230000 and not counting the fact that there's markups all the time from $5000...
This car is criminally underrated..
It's literally a supercar that has Honda reliability and maintenance costs. And it's a hybrid. If I had the money, it would be my number one choice in this segment.
Literally
Agree, I’m saving now to get this car at the end of the year. Probably at Christmas.
@@HAZRDLyrics what do you do for a living
@@HAZRDLyrics I’d like to know as well!
It’s pretty bad looking, designed by a woman which explains the first part, and a hybrid. Bro it’s a hybrid.
Bro you don’t understand how happy I am to wake up and see this video notification
Legend! I hope you like it
This dude is saying exactly everything I’d say. It’s a Honda. It’s a Acura. It’s reliable! You never hear super car owners talk about longevity or their experience with repairing their cars with high mileage.
@@6lake. he never said that lol, he's talking about the owners complaining about the maintenance their supercars need when they hit high mileage, something u won't hear from an nsx owner
Modern day Porsches and Ferraris are just as reliable, if not more. Ever since the original NSX, they’ve gone above and beyond participating in various endurance races and, in Ferrari’s case, offered 7 year unlimited mileage warranties to iron out all the problems that made them seem unreliable to the public. This I see is the primary reason why Honda can’t repeat the magic with a “reliable everyday supercar”. Personally I’d much rather they simplify and focus on driving experience like Porsche does with their GT series than to cram as much as tech as possible only to be outdone as soon as the NSX hits the market.
Get rid of the useless hybrid aspect... even more reliable. Weight savings, also.
I never really appreciated and understood this car until your videos on it, so thank you :)
This makes feel like I did my job
I rented one in Vegas for a day, its super fast and comfortable. Its more of a GT car to me than a pure sports car.
The nsx was my first true favorite car
watching this car go to 60 in launch control, on a cold wet hill is pretty incredible.
I love the way this thing puts down power
You’re hitting your stride T
Thank you so much for this review, and for the "most beautiful v6 sounds I've ever heard". Yeah, it's true for me, too. I love this ride.
I'm glad you got your hands on one of these. You go into a great amount of detail in your reviews and have really good audio.
Truly impressive systems they got. It is really cool that you got to drive it in the weather we've been gettin. I ended up being a big fan of the RLX Sport Hybrid after driving it in a calm winter storm one day. It was just so damn quiet and serene, and it was a Honda...
Thank you for giving us this Sunday morning gift. It's really appreciated!!! Hope you've had a good weekend and thank you again for your amazing videos. Stay safe! ☺️
13:05 That induction roar really is glorious! Reminds me of the venerable Alfa Romeo Busso V6. Oh how I want a Busso
Yes! They do need to make a Type R. Hey man, loved watching this video while I ate breakfast today haha. You’re such an entertaining personality to watch/listen to. And I loved the school bus photo shoot!
Thanks Ben!!
We all need 700Hp Type R , it’s a shame and criminal for this car not to have 600+ hp 😅
Every hater of this car has not driven one. The car is an animal. And reliable. And relatively affordable. Low 100’s for a 17/18.
Love that you gave it the donut test. I love the sound of it.
Great review. I agree...I wasn't initially a fan when it was released and the pictures don't do it justice...but when you see it in person/real life...it is hard to look away. The NSX is a criminally underrated car and ironically (most) those who love it and appreciate it aren't in the economic position to purchase it and like you said those who can afford it scuff at it because of the Parent brand name and the lack of cache that is associated with it (ironically from what I've heard a similar situation initially affected Honda's personal Jet plane sales).
Awesome! I had hoped to get my NSX out in the snow but you beat me to it. Great video!
Haven't driven one exactly, but I have been inside one of these cars, and if I had the money, THIS would BE what I would have for my day to day.
First time i’ve watched a POV of these cars, wow, what an amazing looking/sounding machine!
Best review of the car if seen yet just for the fact you have fun and you’re not super scared to beat on it a little it’s great cause that’s what they are for lol
Excellent review and thank you for 4K quality!!!
Glad you liked it!
The amount of grip on snow and icy road conditions are insane
I’ve never been so on and off with a design in my life haha. I LOVE the front end, but hate the rear design. I've owned Acuras multiple times in my life and have loved them, I'm sure this thing is a blast to drive. I'm super excited personally for the TLX Type S they are releasing eventually. Great video!
Honestly I am not at all interested in supercars, but I really like this car. I'll probably never buy a supercar, but if I had to this would be very high on the list. It looks absolutely amazing in yellow and in the snow and it seems like it drives very nicely.
You’e my favorite youtuber, Tedward. The only guy I would actually want to meet and talk cars with.
That thing is clean, NSX’s don’t get enough love
14:39, yup definitely in Massachusetts
Why do I love watching you so much
dude I am addicted with your videos
Great video, love that you’re ripping around in New England winter - looks so good. Funny you were gonna give it the beans until you came up behind the trooper
Love my NSX! Best car I have ever owned.
I think Teds really considering buying an NSX at this point LMAO
This channel needs a bit more success first lol
@@TedwardDrives I just found you last week and you’re already my favorite car channel, you’re gonna blow up more it’s only a matter of time

man that road at the start looks so fun
"What would Ms. Frizzle drive?" I laughed way to hard when you said that lmao. Great review as always man! Keep up the amazing work!
haha thanks
That makes 53 (likes) of us now 😂
these are the best car reviews because you drive the cars how they should be driven and enjoyed
Thanks Rigel!
I own a little Honda S660 in yellow which is basically the baby version of your NSX. I really really hope I get to get my car photographed next to one of these before I sell it whenever that may be. Props to you!
Still my favorite new car of all time I need one
looks so fun to drive!!
"What would Ms Frizzle drive" deaddddd
Most underrated supercar
Best color
Possibly my next purchase here in New England. Coming from RSX-S and TL-S.
Heck of an upgrade!!
It's crazy how glued to the road this car is
If I tried to throw my car around a wet bend at 90 mph I'd be in a ditch REALLY quickly
I would love to have the Acura NSX, one of my favorite cars that's actually reliable
More snow days with Tedward!😍 I’m definitely more appreciative of the NSX than when it first came out, but there’s still a wee bit of skepticism I have towards it. From purely what I know about the powertrain setup, all that hybrid complexity seems like it would make for an awfully digital driving experience. But hey, I’m open to being surprised if I ever experience it in person.
It's actually very soulful, which is the opposite of what you think when you read the car on paper
This car it’s a masterpiece
YESSSSSSS ITS HERE
Particularly if I could have a car of this category I would choose the Nsx, I always found it beautiful in all generations, and now knowing the behavior and what it can do, I'm just more sure of my choice.
I wish this car sold more! Theyre so outstanding
I love the angry and yet harmonic sound. Most modern supercars sound artificial. And I also like the practicality and that it's a hybrid. Really interesting car.
Yeeessssss love the video with the NSX in the snow should be fun
This car is sick tbh
I took my dads Honda side by side in the snow, and it’s so damn fun, it can get through a lot of snow even in 2 wheel drive
Great video ted
I’m jealous. Would like this car. I agree some storage would be great inside.
Super underrated car! But so expensive!! But price aside, WOW!
Awesome review! i think the car will hold its value over time... Every performance oriented Honda seems to be doing that
Thanks Mike! I didn't know you picked one up until a couple days ago. It looks incredible. You must be thrilled
@@TedwardDrives I picked up a 2020 last july.. I felt it was a good complement to my e92 m3 because it's such a completely different driving experience.
it sure wowed me
Great vid as always
Appreciate it!
@@TedwardDrives I live in the same state as you and I barley see any super cars up here, it’s so boring
“Being a little cautious because it’s wet” as you’re @ 90 on the on-ramp lol like your style sir
Best car ever
I do love the way the nsx looks and if I had to have a super car it would be a nsx
Dig the ms. frizzle reference!
very nice review! fair
This would look great in black
Honda has plenty of customer with big coin
The car was late to market
It is low on power and specs relative to many other supercars (albeit higher priced cars)
There is a severe limit in customization choices (this is very important to upmarket sales)
No nose lift so cannot be owned by folks in condo towers or steep driveways
No electric folding mirrors so a pain for folks like me with old city garages (I have to get out and fold the mirrors to get into my garage and do the reverse when taking the car out)
No open top version, rich folks love open top cars
Still a super fun car, I enjoy mine a ton
always a pleasure to watch. makes me wanna go window shop some stealerships to have fun..
Nice this car! I really like it, nice drift, and nice Video!!!
I'm in love with it. If i had the money I would buy it!
Vtec : Our pressure :)
I already know it can drift in snow form video games lol! Can't remember which game but the NSX was a beast at off-road rally for no reason.
Sounds sooo good for a v6, like the gtr r35
I love the sound Honda engines make when you let off the gas in gear
Looks better than a corvette!
Why arent your videos getting more views. Im addicted.
i will wait for like 5 - 10 years by then i hope the nsx would depreciate for quite a bit and i hopefully afford one
Okay the alliteration of the letter R is insane in the very beginning of the vid lol
Dream car.
You sir have balls of steel
"What would Ms. Frizzle drive?" OMG 😂😂😂
beautiful car, if i only could afford one :)
If I was in this price range I would probably buy a Porsche 992 Turbo S however, I would like to try this out that V6 sounds very nice, to be honest probably better than a stock 992 Turbo S, too bad you can't turn the traction control fully off so we can see it dance in the snow.
The Turbo S starts at over $200k, this NSX is not as expensive. The regular 911 Turbo is in the same price range as this however and is still quicker than the NSX despite being the “lesser” 911 turbo model.
@@RomaneMaticaliseGordon I don't know the new prices of cars in America, but I agree with Tedward's opinion that as a daily or a car that you would take on a trip the 911 is simply much more practical, but good job from Honda for delivering an exciting car. But I would be more than happy to have the "lower" trim Turbo model if the budget is strict, have a nice evening.
@@thecar1888 oh yeah definitely, I was just pointing out that this car matches up with pricing more closely with the regular 911 Turbo as opposed to the Turbo S. I would also choose the Porsche over this. I think Acura needs to give this car a facelift, interior redesign and a performance bump, to be more competitive especially now that mclaren released their “affordable” hybrid supercar. You have a nice evening as well
@@RomaneMaticaliseGordon I agree, something to make it pop a little bit more I would make the front end look a bit less like an Accord/Civic, and certainly a Type R version for someone who wants to be up there with the Turbos and McLaren's in terms of performance.
The brand not strong compare to Porsche. When it's new I will get the Porsche, but in the used market, this car might better
1:37 oh so that was what annoyed them over at hot version
when they said it keeps doing weird stuff with some electronics
I love it.
I get what you mean about people not wanting to buy the NSX because of the brand, but personally, I think the Honda/Acura badge would be the exaxt reason I'd buy the car.
i live like 5 mins from southwicks, that’s crazy
Even if you got solar panels its not free if you have a plug in hybrid. Because either way you cant use the electricity otherwise in your home so youre still buying it from the City.
Such a cool car! Not in my bugdet tho!
awesome review.. love the schoolbus gig, and I love how that thing pulls from almost 0 over 60 in just one gear (that would be the 2nd, from the braking moment)! insane!😂 it's a legacy from the old one and I love it!
And yes, it really is overlooked by the supercar buyers due to their - what, brand complex?? Idk.. I can understand the devotion to the brands like Ferrari, Porsche, Aston..
But if you're buying an Audi, let's remember that audi IS an "normal car" brand to begin with, just a tiny bit higher "class" from Honda, and not even from Acura. Audi didn't even have a supercar basicaly till "recently" (2007.?), not including the quattro form the 80's, which is not it..
So, define irony - R8 which arrived in 2007. under VW concern as the first ever supercar with Audi badge and borrowed engine from Lamborghini (so, NO own originality) is more attractive to brand lovers (who would never buy Pheaton, btw!) then Honda which already graduated and ended their successful and long-lasting supercar project, and moved on to building private jets - and then brought back something like THIS in 2018.! That's the legacy people should think off when looking for supercars!
Even Porsche started entering the more "normal car" market as well, especially with the diesel engines.
NSX shouldn't be percieved as a model of Honda, or even Acura (which shouldn't be a problem in the first place), but as the brand for it self! Today's status of an old NSX proves it.
It's like saying GT40 is "just a Ford"... Only NSX is much more reliable ;)
Honda has a lockout on first gear in my 06 6 speed too
A Type-R variant of this NSX would even be cool if they kept powertrain identical and just modified and improved the hell out of the handling, driver feedback and reduced the weight. Kaizen is the Japanese word that Japanese automakers often employ when updating their flagship sports cars like the R35 GTR which is still on the same platform it was when it was introduced in 2007.. Kaizen means to improve bit by bit little by little over time in order to attain some level of mastery in regards to the original platform.
I wish we got to see a White Pearl or Championship White NSX Type R that better utilized its powertrain and reached new heights on track etc like Nissan did so beautifully with the R35
My fuckin dream car, man..
a car review in snowy weather, now that's something I never saw before:))))
It's a service I'm willing to provide lol
