If you want more snow content be sure to hit that like button to give the video reach! Thanks for watching and hope you enjoy. Stay tuned for a secret at the end.
I hit all the like buttons I could find, I like snow content.
snow content is best content. Honestly winters where I am at are miserable
Snow Snow Snow snooooowwwwwwwwww
Fwd Pov? Ik how to correct oversteer in fwd but i wanna see someone else do it
@@matth6284 Point and shoot...use the front wheels to drag you out of the slide and relax the wheel as the tail falls in line with the direction you'd like to go. Countersteer and power!
When I was 15 learning to drive in the snow, my dad took to to an empty parking lot near my house and taught me how to slide and taught me the basics of car control in the snow, a cop eventually showed up and he ended up hangout and even lending me some cones to practice with, that is how a situation like that should be handled.
my dad is so goddamn strict with me doing that kinda stuff, thankfully I go to school every day and the past week has been nothing but terrible (but really awesome) road conditions and snow. so I've kinda got my own practice in I think, still got more to learn, but Im much more comfortable in slidey situations than i was before
That cop is awesome. I hope that's more common than I assume
That sounds awesome, lets hope there are more cops like that ^^
Alex I’ll take shit never happened for 500 pls
That is some of the things people don’t teach you. Having a cop even help give advice and lend cones to help learn the skill is amazing
In Norway, driving in low traction weather is a required part of the drivers education. It is split into three parts. First part you drive around the course on different surfaces; ice, snow and wet road. Then you get to set a speed which you think you will be able to control the car at. Then in part 2 you drive the course at speed and see if u were able to drive that fast/ slow and what happens. It's really eye opening, and although you pass it either way, i think it's great to understand how dangerous it can be to drive above your skill in slippery weather.
What part three?
@@thethug89 I completely forgot to mention part three. Part three is very similar to part two. In part two you mainly see if the speed you chose were appropriate for the conditions. You then go on to set a new time and see how fast you really should be going to stay in control of the vehicle. Then in part three you purposely drive faster than you should to experience how that feels. You also try to loose grip so you can experience that too. (I felt like tedward slipping around, even though i drove a FWD Mercedes A180 lol). You also try avoiding obstacles like foam pedestrians etc.
I also failed to mention that you get a short course in securing passengers, kids etc in the car and how to secure things on the roof. You also get to experience "crashing" at 7 kph. (A car seat on a rail that stops abruptly)
after reading this ive decided that im going to norway for my dr license lol
same in denmark
Great training. What I'm missing is driving on slopes in the snow/ice. Especially downhill can catch flatlanders out because their heavy 4wd just won't stop downhill, lol.
Finally, the E92 Snow Drive returns!
These are my favourite videos! E92 M3 sound is also one of the best
Favourite videos ever, watched the bmw snow night drive at least 20 times. Please upload this every day, day and night driving in the snow with some sliding around. Waiting for snow here, greetings from the Netherlands. Keep up the fun uploads.
Thanks! I wish we got more snow. The roads are already bare pavement :(
@@TedwardDrives to bad to hear, lets hope more snow follows soon then 🤞🏻
Mate that's literally my favorite video
Also The Netherlands here and thats also my favourite video! Love it.
@@TedwardDrives do some normal night driving then 🙏
I really love that even though you give advice on how to do some "spirited driving", you still hammer down the importance of safety and being a responsible driver.
I see people post videos every day flailing about in a parking lot with no control. just throwing it and spinning and making smoke. Or doing 150 weaving through traffic. Both scream immaturity and lack of skill. I hope folks can learn to enjoy cars through control and respect for others
This man lives by the code. Always respects the drive. Legend.
Look that's a horse - Tedward 2022
Hahhahaha
I miss RWD in the snow so much! FWD is a little bit less lively but it becomes increasingly apparent how much the front tires need to do when they have a low grip budget. Being able to adjust your line with your right foot is so rewarding. Love these videos!!!
As someone who lives in Chicago and owns an F80 M3 I must admit winter driving is the absolute best. Something about it makes it so peaceful.
Fun snow drive! I spent it shoveling instead of driving. Most important tip for the young drivers out there, look ahead and anticipate as much as you can! Then you can anticipate all the details you threw in, like surface changes, road camber, spacing to cars and objects. Just like learning to drive in the track, the more you can look ahead, the better you will be.
As someone with an awd daily, snow season is the best time to learn the limits of your car and awd system. A lot of people think that awd means you can drive like normal in the snow which is definitely not true. Also its the only time of the year my car can actually break traction so being able to hoon a little is a must lol
Awd is much more dangerous in winter than rwd/fwd, as soon as us step off the gas all the grip is gone, and especially if you have good tires (studded) you can drive as fast in summer.
Imagine my surprise when all it did was just understeer into a snowbank and when you press on the pedal it oversteers and turns on a dime the opposite way around
Awd picks up so much speed and needs way more space to turn sideways in a corner, that's why I prefer RWD in the snow, you can slide any corner slow and controlled.
@@canoninmunaone That's not true at all, AWD does not reduce or increase your grip, it increases your forward propulsion yes but it does not magically grant you grip.
@canoninmunaone Why do you post misinformation? Grip doesn’t magically disappear because you stop applying throttle (one of the forces using the grip of the tire), if anything you’d have more grip by letting off the throttle. The only danger that comes from AWD in the snow is overconfidence because of the launch.
There’s something so satisfying of watching snow drives
I love watching people who actually know what they are doing in the snow. So many crash compilations but few good driving compilations
I knew this was coming when it snowed Friday! I was sad because I was inside all day working, and by the time I went out after work the roads were all clear
When I went through driving school it was in the dead of winter. I pretty much learned to drive in blizzards. It’s good experience every driver needs
It snowed here in Minnesota not to long ago, I called up a freind of mine and in a heartbeat we were off “drifting” through the night, we started at about 10 pm, and our fun lasted till almost 1 in the morning
Probably the best eerie vibe ever, the streets where empty and it was just us, the road and trying not to get any curb rash
“A hundred horsepower becomes a thousand horsepower in the snow”
Me in my shitbox mk4 golf 1.6: HELL YEAH
Fun to see I'm not the only one keeping my E9X M3 out of storage, I daily mine in Minnesota, people think I'm crazy but I love it, meaty winters and full send.
The professionalism is refreshing.
there it is. i drive a normal 3 series but still a lot of fun in the snow
Your e92 snow videos are one of a kind! I have rewatched all of them at least 20 times!
"Good horsey" that's so pure!
pls make like 10 more!! I love these
i found your snow drives with m3 the most relaxing to watch.
Thanks for providing a 2022 version Tedward.
You made an interesting point about breaking the wheels about while driving to get used to how a car behaves when sliding. I think so many people, in fact all people, would benefit from knowing how to control a car when it's in a slide. Probably reduce the amount of accidents too.
What helped me with car control was actually video games. It doesn't snow here, so when my car popped in a slide from wet leaves around a bend, I didn't panic at all, reduced gear to initiate engine breaking, target fixation on the apex of the bend and I was out. I attest that to the hours I've spent in Assetto Corsa.
Great video. I’ve driven all sorts of powerful cars and the most fun I’ve ever had was in my old E36 318i on snow tires driving after a snow storm doing exactly what you’re doing here!
Love watching you drive the M3 in the snow and sliding it around, something about it is relaxing in a way haha
Man I love it when this guy makes bmw videos
love your snow driving stuff!
6:22 Fan fact in Finland where jts snow almost entire year,to get driving licence you need to drive 3 years before you get your licence
Best use of anything for a snow day!!!
Back when lakes still froze solid, the Boston Chapter of the BMW CCA held Ice Time Trial events up on Newfound Lake in NH (basically an autocross on a frozen lake). Absolutely the best way to learn how to drive on snow and ice - no curbs, ditches, or oncoming traffic on a well-frozen lake!
One horse has like 1.6HP... Anyway, as you said, it's so important to learn car control in the snow... I had a Mk3 Golf GTI and I learned so much with it.. Just ABS, not TC or ESP and sometimes it was gnarly, but when I take it as a whole, I'm so grateful. Now I have an AWD automatic, so it is not a issue so much
Omgggg the green interior is sick!!
Love to see more E92 M3 in snow content!!! Please post more of this beast in snow!!
Fingers crossed for more storms
Saw all the other snow driving videos of yours and as soon as i saw the notification of this vid i had to check it out. My e92 is in workshop and cant wait to get out back in the snow!
Post more of the m3 in the snow!
Much love bro :)
I own a 2019 M2C and love driving it in the snow.. so so fun
Great video, Tedward! And some excellent points on winter driving and the general lack of skill (and lack of winter tires) among the general populace.
Fully agree with Ted, I always practice in the Alps
Hope we get some cozy winter blizzard night driving from the channel this year
I was hoping for this video! Thanks man! You're my favorite UA-camr of 2021, let's make 2022 even better!
Thanks JR!
Really fun driving in the snow
I love watching these videos
I love this. Where I live we dont get snow that often but it happens from time to time. But not frequently enough that drivers know how to deal with it. I have friends who stress over 2cm of snow claiming they "cant drive in this weather". Tedward drives a freakin M3 in the snow like its the most normal thing to do. RWD and over 400hp. I guess even I would have trouble with this thing even though i would consider myself bold in terms of driving.
Really like how much energetic you start the video
i didnt expect to watch the whole video i just wanted to see how you are getting out of your parking lot but i got stuck watching and i watched the whole video you drive very smooth and good and i learnd something for the upcoming winter thank you and btw your interior looks so clean!!!
M3 snow drive is back!!!!
This channel has grown so much since I first subbed back when you had like 20,000 subs soon you’ll have a million !!
Every year first snow, I do the same with my F21. Even with just 200hp, in these conditions, they are plenty enough to offer good fun and driving experience.
Really loved the night drive blizzard video, hope you can make a few more of those when it snows again!
The snow videos are the best. I loved that m3 blizzard video, I've watched it many times now
You are so relaxed when driving in snow. Can't say the same for myself. But i really enjoy watching you driving around, and it motivates me to get better to driving RWD in the snow. Please keep these videos commig :)
You're probably the most considerate bmw driver i have witnessed
The man has no fear 👏
love that interior
My local track always has snow track days in the winter and it's tons of fun to drift around track without having to worry about police or anything
I got to do a good 40 miles of snow driving with friends this year in my Subaru and it was so fun, I got the chance to do so the year before, but not a chance to go out to any parking lots and practice good car control, pulling handbrake to slide and see what that feels like etc, this year I got to do it all, and it was great, I of course in a subaru had no issues with getting stuck or feeling like I wasn't gonna make it up a hill, there was areas of ice where you of course had to just go slow and be careful but for the most part the snow was just perfect to eat through and slide around in a controlled manor, it was a great experience and I've never been more confident in my ability to drive my car and have good control over it. Me and my friends also had a blast watching fwd cars get themselves stuck and seeing cars high centered in just the dumbest places imaginable, it was a good time to say the least.
Getting flashbacks to last year snow videos
Never seen individual interior like that. Its awesome
Awesome vid man! 🔥
My old Porsche 914-6 was the most fun in the snow !! I cleared roads in the snow. I placed a 100 lb bag of horse feed in the frunk and 100 lb bag of horse feed in the rear trunk. I moved snow and opened roadways.. Lots of fun. !! However, I did have to replace my front air dam as it was not designed to plow snow. Stupid mistake~~! But, it was a costly fun day.. I will not do it again !!
Brilliant video Tedward!
I love snow driving. Best thing in the world.
I love these snow videos! I would love to see more of these on your channel this winter! :)
That's how I really learned to drive: reading rally driving books and drilling the lessons in with just me and a shovel out there on roads or parking lots abandoned for all but the plows. Good old $500 metal cars with impact bumpers didn't care much when smashing into a snowbank, were nearly free to fix if there was any damage, and were cheap to replace (if needed, but never had to).
I wasn't sure how I could fined the new NSX to be less desirable, but now I know!
Love your winter M3 videos. Almost inspired me to pull the trigger on a Charger R/T daily here in icy michigan. Ended up with an A4 instead, livin' dat boost lyfe.
Always posting solid content, keep it coming mate!
Blessed to have a 1978 delta 88 as my first ...learnt quick my first winter lol.
I cant get enough of this car, A santorini blue E92 M3 is my dream car
One of the best car related channels on UA-cam. Thank you for these videos. Your channel inspired me to start my own. Greetings from Transylvania!
I agree with you. You can learn so much doing those little slides. In a real situation when the car starts sliding you at least have a good idea on how to react.
Btw I think you live in such a beautiful place! Especially when there's snow!
Here in The Netherlands snow barely falls and getting your license (depending on how fast and how many courses you have to get etc.) Takes roughly 4 to 7 months, if you're lucky you drive in the winter/snow (winter here is just cold and rain, snow is a rarity unfortunately), I started in June 2013 and passed my test in december and in february got my first car and also snow fell. My car was on all season tires and I found an empty parking lot and did some hooning around, having fun but also understanding how a car reacts in snow. I'm not scared to drive in whatever conditions it is, where ever in the world i'm at, I love driving. My cars where FWD so braking and steering was sketchy at times, also mostly on summer or all season tires since winter here lasts a few weeks and unless the conditions are there, you will ruin winter tires. Since the last 2 years I own a BMW E81 118i and we have gotten snow 1 time and RWD is incredibly different, very good car control when traction is off and incredibly fun but you also have to partially re learn how a car like that works. I hope snow will fall soon so I can have some more fun before I sell the car lol. It's always fun seeing people smiling, pointing and cheering when you go sideways on the road😂 even the Police understands that a RWD car is pretty hard to constantly keep straight, bit of gas and there you go lol
Looks like fun!
the place is so beautifull!!!!!
since i got my car a year ago and i've been looking into all sorts of videos on 1 series and 3 series (i have a 1 series so a lot of things are similar) i haven't seen like anybody on the east coast let alone new england! i'm glad i'm not the only one braving these harsh winters
dude your neighbourhood especially when there is snow looks so chilled and symphatic to me holy shit thats what i´d call a winter wonderland
In wintry countries such as Scandinavia, winter driving is a required part of the driving course. On this type of surface, Nordic winter tyres are essential. Even if you don’t want to slide and skid all over the road, I would say that braking distance is the most important to be aware of. Braking distance will double, at a minimum, compared to a dry road (depending on speed, naturally).
guys its almost time for this winters snow drift videos, cant wait
You know it!
that interior color its badass
Those seats look sick in the m3. Love the color, super unique.
that looks soooo fun
i am absolutely on your side about how good those conditions are for practicing driving skills and i would also love it if authorities and shopowners with bigger parkinglots wouldn't be so strict about this stuff..
AYY i was just watching the old video yesterday!! and now this is posted!!
I recently moved to Georgia from Missouri, and boy do I miss snow driving. On the one hand, I have access to some nice north Georgia mountain roads, but on the other, I can't go demolish a snow-covered empty parking lot with some slides and donuts. I try not to really slide on the street unless I know beyond a shadow of doubt that I have room, but it's still entertaining to go find a safe spot and experiment.
This snow drive videos are 🔥🔥
Everytime I hear that Ding in my BMW my heart drops I have a 328i e92
Road America has an excellent winter driving class!
Years ago when I had my E92 M3 I use to throw Blizzak tires on and drive it in the snow. Actually was a lot of fun and the car did pretty well. Only got stuck one time because a bus stopped on a icy hill and I couldn't make it up. lol
I love these types of videos!
Great drive with commentary Tedward! Especialy with an M3 E92 that is a legend of a car ❤️
Ngl I have a 328i with X drive and that has been a lot more fun in the snow than my previous rwd cars. You have a lot more control over where you want to go
YES YES YES YES YES
dude is living in paradise
My favorite videos of the year! Nothing better than sitting outside in shorts and a T-Shirt while I watch a guy clear snow off of his car :)
BOOOOOOOOO
As a new driver that Has a license for 8 months i enjoy driving on snow. I have BMW E60 and im bit afraid that i will turn too much so i only slide a little bit its a lot of fun anyway. I totally agree that it helps you to feel the car more but its also important to have your safety in mind at the first place.
E92 M3 is my favorite M3! Nice driving mate!
