    Love how the owner set up wall reinforcement to keep vent open as we all know that dryers gets smashed into the wall hence blocking air flow. Smart design. Hats off to both you and the owner.

      I'd love to hear the story if possible! I'd imagine others would benefit from your potential accident! If not, that's perfectly fine however this is the exact reason I got into this trade! Regardless, you made my month with your simple statement!❤❤❤

      @@HighSierraBob Man you ain't lying... Sure, insurance will replace your couch... Your clothes and electronics however they can't replace your family photos... Your high school yearbooks... The quilt your grandmother made for you... A fire is devastating and I don't wish that upon anyone! thanks HSB!

      Yea, that's how a homeowner would typically clean theirs if up high!

      Same...EXACTLY how I cleaned mine... but it was with a drill brush where you add extensions... I did it from the inside exactly like he did... then followed with an electric leaf blower... My vent run looks almost exactly like this one.. straight up like 10 feet (guessing) then a slight turn (then maybe 8 more feet) exiting the roof... and I do NOT blame him for not wanting to go on a roof.. Mine is steep as hell.. I grew up getting on roofs and when I got on mine I didn't think it would be a big deal till I go up there... scared the freaking crap outtta me... and the vent is on the extreme top.... never again..... I still say they should not design houses where the dryer vents through the freaking roof

    seeing her attic ... it looks a little busier than mine with tubes going all over the place... But I swear the way the dryer vent goes up, makes a slight turn... then goes out the roof... is almost identical to mine... I moved into this house brand new in 2004... So 20 years this September...I'm in a subdivision and so JEALOUS of my neighbor who's dryer is right up against and outside wall and goes straight out!

      It's typically the method I'd recommend to any homeowner! Unless the vent exits the structure low enough as to not require a ladder... Thanks so much for watching!

    The cause of lint build-up is low air flow - that periscope is killing air flow adding 20 minutes to each drying cycle.

    • @advsLLC
      @advsLLC  5 місяців тому +1

      Yea? Guess it's good you don't have one! With your ability to judge time via UA-cam, seems you're wasting your time here.. Yes, it DOES have two sharp angles however, when you have to retrofit a small space, and make sure it can vent, there is no better option! Prove me wrong! Tell the class how you DO it......

    If the vent goes to the roof, do they always have to be cleaned from the top down? I got my vent cleaned, first time in this house that we moved to. And now the dryer is over heating. We never had issue before. The guy came back and said it is the vent issue and he said there might be a damper gate that stuck. :-( We never had issue before. I just wanted to be cleaned.

    • @advsLLC
      @advsLLC  5 місяців тому +1

      No they can be cleaned from the interior however the roof damper still needs to be inspected/cleaned! Is there a screen in your roof damper? You can always go into the attic and take the duct apart. That way you can inspect the damper from the safety of the attic and not via the actual roof. Just poke your hand out through the roof damper. If there's a screen, you'll be able to remove it from the inside... Hope that helps!
