Agreed! For me it's kind of like watching the videos of people clearing overgrown yards. Therapeutic in some strange way (as long as I'm not the one having to do it).
Es hipnotizante este vídeo, pero no puedo evitar pensar en la cantidad de agua gastada para una alfombra...en España hay sequía y no podríamos hacer esto. Alfombra nueva y ya está.😅
Now I understand why they say a Turkish or persian carpet is an heirloom worth passing on. This video made me realize how durable those threads are for it to withstand the heavy duty cleaning done. What an amazing piece of art.
I'd love to know a) where it was that it got that filthy, b) how did it withstand all of that cleaning? There shouldn't have been anything left after all of that!
Turkish carpets are more durable and long-lasting than Persian carpets. The reason is that the knot thrown while making the carpet is different. This is called the Gordes node. There are about 36,000 knots in a carpet. Their dyes are root dyes and are organic. It does not discolor, although the threads of the loops are shortened, it does not spoil the carpet format.
You ever wonder if these videos like this are just grabbing some year old rug and getting it dirty as possible with what they know will come out with ease just for clicks because people like to watch stuff like this?

It obviously is a good carpet and probably has also not been used massively otherwise there would be signs of wear. I came here because I have a large carpet which I want to clean. Larger and way less dirty than the one shown. I was wondering if harder methods could damage the carpet but that seems to be not so much of a concern.
That's a lot of dirt. I cannot imagine a home with that dirty of a rug. The workmanship of the rug is phenomenal. A rug that can go through 50 yrs of dirt and then go through the rigors of being cleaned. Turkish rugs are woven to last and oh so beautiful.
After decades of exposure to dirt and corrosive substances, the fabric’s tensile strength and resistance to wear is nowhere close to original… i’m impressed the carpet didn’t disintegrate. I’d at least remove first all the abrasive particulate matter like sand in a gentle water bath before applying such brutal methods of mechanical stress on it.
How do you know that old mate (or old madam) that made this magic carpet is dead? They could be sitting on the couch, watching TV while scratching their crotch for all we know. It was only 50 odd years ago (allegedly).
when people say "all that soap and water is a waste, i'd just buy a new carpet" I think about ones like these and how many of the carpets you've shown on this channel have some amount of historical or clear sentimental value. definitely worth the effort
I also think about reduce, reuse and recycle. Throwing away something just because it’s dirty is wasteful. Which is worse for the environment? Using soap and water to clean a dirty carpet or throwing the dirty carpet away? The process of manufacturing a new carpet affects the environment too.

Thank you so much friend 😊🖐️
@@CCS1 you are so very welcome. I hate seeing things destroyed over time but love watching you bring these rugs back to life.
A beautiful carpet under all that grime. Nice job!
Thank you so much 😊
Grime? That’s a whole swamp in there 😂
Well at least I know I can keep my Turkish rug on the river bed and it will be okay! 😊
Great work
