My Grandfather was lock keeper at Aston Bottom lock, ( a mile or so west of Queens Head ) I visited it last year.Though the house was demolished I was pleased to see my Grandfather 's office on the other side of the lock was still there though in bad repair. Sadly the orchard on that side was also gone. I remember the house ,it had a dairy, my Grandfather kept cows a d my Grandma made butter and beer to sell to the boatmen. When the canal was closed my grandparents moved to a house on the main road in Queens Head.
Aww what happy memories Shirley. So sad they let the buildings go into disrepair. How Kewl they made beer and butter for the boat people. What a different era we could learn lessons from it. Hope you are having a good week. Take care ❤️
I felt for you, Paul: I don't know how the solo boaters do it. I would recommend that you look into radio controls for your new boat, though! Happy cruising, Paul, Anthony, & Dexter! 💖
He did great. That wind too. Very proud. Hope you have a lovely evening ❤
Thanks for taking us along on this adventure and well done for doing it all single handed. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Good job Paul! I bet you feel good having tackled that journey! It struck me how fit you will be living on a narrow boat, lots of exercise! Big hug for Dexter xx
Hey did amazingly well Carole. I know how hard it is to control the boat in wind, let alone the locks. Rather him than me. Dexter is mooching waiting for his Dad to get in from work 😊. Have a lovely evening. ❤
Well done Paul tackling locks on your own 🎉
Anna, he did really well. It looked exhausting. Hope you have a lovely Sunday ❤
What fantastic opening scenery. I doubt anyone could better that. Beautiful canal. Your mooring spot looks very peaceful...hope it was. Thank you. Cheers.
Jane I loved seeing those leaves tumbling down. I looked an exhausting day. He did so well. Great spot with good parking. Thanks for watching and have a lovely week. ❤
Oops nearly forgot....kiss for Dexter x
❤️
very well done Paul! 💪👏
He did really well Claudia. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Well done Paul. I was nervous for you. You have some great skills there. Anthony will be so proud of you as he should be. Hope the wind calmed down before your return trip. Safe travels
Aww Mary. I was proud of him. Still to do a lock on my own. The wind looks awful. Hope you are having a nice week ❤
The 'Monty' needs a full restoration and extending the 30-40 miles from Newtown to Brecon to open up the Welsh system further. You could extend the currently being restored Telford canal to meet the Monty. Why? The holiday cruising would improve the area, keeping pubs/resturants open, provide people who live on canals more scope and provide water drainage for wet times and a water source for drought times.
All brilliant ideas, I’m sure it would cost a lot but in the long run surely it’s worth it for the tourism and the local economy 👍
Well done Paul, that was a hell of an achievement on your own, that wind looked really strong ❤❤❤
Hey Jacqui. He really did do well. Can’t believe that was the first time he has done a lock solo and in that wind 😮. I am nervous about having to do a lock on my own I must admit. Hope you are good. Take care ❤
Hi Paul, great job under the conditions, you could see how strong the wind was. 😁Hi to Anthony who was hiding away at work 😂😂 take care guys ❤️❤️
Thanks Katelyn it was hard work but I enjoyed the day xx
Well done Paul 👍. We did the Montgomery back in 2015 and loved it. Spent ten days exploring. It was easier for us though, because there’s two of us. Our first mooring was at the services. No loud music, just lots of anglers with their cars in the car park.
I’m sure we would have been fine at the services. Would love to go back in summer to explore x
Wind! The worst enemy of a boater! You did very well Paul; especially as you were on your own. Stay safe.
He really did Jill, I wouldn’t have wanted to do it. Hope you have a great weekend ❤
Solo boater and lock operator. Another notch on your windlass.
Well done Paul.
He did really well Harry. Hope you are well. Enjoy the weekend ❤
Oh wow, Paul, well done!! That was a challenging journey, especially all ON YOUR OWN!!: steering the boat; managing the locks; contending with the wind; mooring up, and all the while filming!!! You did an AMAZING job!! Bravo! Hope you, Anthony & sweet Dexter are having a great weekend! Stay warm & dry & we'll see you next week! ❤🐾❤
Couldn’t have said it better myself Kathy. He did so well. That wind alone would have been difficult. He stayed calm and managed the trip.
Hope you have a lovely week. Take care ❤
A picture perfect canal. Far too windy for a novice helmsman, therefore, you are no longer a novice. Well done Paul.
That wind looked awful David and I know Paul said it was hard work. Hope you have a lovely evening ❤
Great vlog! Well done with the single handing, you handled the locks brilliantly, and especially in that wind, well done you!! 👏 xx 😘
Thanks guys. He did good. Still not done a lock on my own and definitely wouldn’t have attempted it in that wind 😮. Hope to see you guys soon x
What amazing job Paul! The master of multitasking! This weeks cruise was amazing and we know it must take true dedication to provide the content you guys do weekly. The wind was just relentless but provide such a cense of beauty with the leaves swirling about with the mixture of perfect music. Your artistic abilities are evident in how well the visual effects are paired with the choice of music. Thanks for another lovely vlog guys! Hope you are safe, warm and staying healthy. Sending love and hugs to you all. Enjoy a fun weekend. Special chin scratches and belly rubs to Dexter. John, Dean, Johann and Greta
Hey guys. He did really well I thought. I haven’t had to do a lock on my own yet but not looking forward to it. The wind was horrific and I know from experience how hard it is to cruise when it is like that. Glad you enjoyed. Love to you and Dean and belly rubs for Greta and Johann ❤❤xx
Lllllll😊
Windy! Not exactly a pleasure cruise but definitely a workout, and singlehandedly, too. I expect you'll keep us viewers informed but I can't help wondering how the new boat is progressing.
Hey Paul. He did really well and as you say, not good in the wind. Funnily enough we filmed last night discussing why we are getting a new boat which should lead on to the build vlogs. Hope you enjoy. ❤
Well done with doing all that on your own. You must have been exhausted at the end. Dexter lad was such a good boy too xx
Aww Sally he did really well. I was exhausted watching 😂. Dexter did well as he hates being on the boat on his own bless him. Hope you have a lovely week ❤
Well done Paul! Bet you was knackered mate! Atb Paul & Lin❤❤
Hey guys. It looked exhausting. He did really well. Love to you both ❤
Paul you were awesome. I was so nervous for you. But listen the footage was brilliant!! I loved it, the wind, leaves and the locks.
It was so exciting, a nail biter. I bet Dex had his paws crossed . The best!!!❤
Glad you enjoyed Clara. He did so well, was proud watching it back. Hope you have a fabulous week. Take care ❤.
Well done Paul, you did well, Montgomery for the WIN 👍
Thanks Heather. He did amazingly. I wouldn’t have wanted to tackle those locks in that wind. Hope you have a lovely evening ❤
Well done Paul. Such a treacherous trip. Yikes.
He did good 😊. Have a good weekend ❤
That looked rough! Wow! Great work.
It did Jayne. I was exhausted watching. He did really well. Hope you are having a good week ❤
wow paul the scenery for the time of year is so beautiful it seemed really strange not seeing Anthony by your side but you did brilliantly through those locks I no I; couldn’t do it love to you both and lovely Dexter see you all again soon looking forward to it x
Well done on doing the Montgomery by yourself it’s bringing back memories from us Doing this canal in October last year is a beautiful canal indeed but some deep locks at the top of them,it’s a pretty flight.❤
He did well Philip. Not sure I would have wanted to do it with that wind too. Gutted the restoration isn’t finished until April this year. Would have been interesting to see the section open. Hope you have had a great weekend ❤
Hey guys, wow Paul that was a challenge! You must have been relieved to finally get moored up. Sounds like Dexter was a good boy throughout. I really liked your camera angles, showing what you were up against, climbing in and out of the locks etc. Hope all going well in current times. xxx 💕
It certainly was a challenge but I enjoyed it. Sure it takes twice as long when I film everything. We are great thanks, hope you are too xx
Well done Paul, I never doubted your boating skills for a second !
The boy did good Jay. 😊. Have a lovely weekend ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 It should be great, it’s our turn to be on holiday, we’re in New Zealand and Australia.
@@jayoneill1533 amazing. Not in the slightest bit jealous 😂
Well done Paul
I know this is a daily thing for you Paul. I am still yet to do a lock solo. Hope you are keeping well.
Saw you were selling your fridge so assume you have gone down the same route as Colin and Debbie. It looks great and much more practical. Have a good week and take care ❤
You did an amazing job Paul. Kudos to you. Thank goodness you are tall, I would never had been able to cross over the lock gates like you did. All that strong wind and you still managed!!! I think you were right to follow your instincts about not mooring at your original spot. You were careful, cautious, and didn’t panic. Great job, I am sure Anthony is proud of you. 😅😊🤗❤️🐾 Kathy
Hey Kathy. He did do extremely well. I was only saying the same thing about my legs not being long enough to get over the lock gate 😂. The wind looks terrible too. Definitely always follow your gut about a mooring, if it doesn’t feel right, move on. I was super proud when I watched it back. Have a good week and take care ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 ❤️ to you three also 🐾🤗
@@ruaidhrikathygill8833 ❤️
Way to go Pau,l you did a cracking job on your own in that wind. You did really well and survived to tell your story. Keep safe. Love and best wishes to you all from a sunny morning in France 🇫🇷
Hey Beth. He really did do well. That wind was horrific. Thanks for watching. Oh can’t wait for a bit of sun here. Have a lovely weekend ❤
@Anthony Smith-Storey it's bad enough driving a car in high winds, but being outside in it frozen to core is something else. He did an amazing job and having to tie up himself in the wind was a great achievement. Well done Paul you're a legend x
What an extra-challenging, but so educational, experience that journey was! I love seeing how people build their confidence through these solo achievements. Congratulations to Paul for handling all the challenges so well! 👍
He really did well. I am glad he did it and I was at work for once. Not relishing having to do locks solo but definitely need to have a go just in case. Have a lovely week ❤
Solo boating is not to be sniffed at, its hard and dangerous, you've gone great.. Paul 🎉
He really did Jane. It isn’t for me.
❤️
Hi guys,
Did well there Paul on your solo boat trip. Hard work with the wind though, but you managed.
When you said that you were not stopping at the mooring near the car park, I thought it was with the tractor in the field which might have been muck spreading. But obviously not. Hope all is well with you all.
Have a good weekend, and looking forward to seeing you all soon. xx
Hey guys. He did really well. Not for me 😂. Looking forward to seeing you both too. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Great video, you genuinely looked at bit stressed out at times. Glad you made it.
It looked hard work Anthony. I think he did amazingly well. Hope you have a lovely week ❤
That was definitely a win for you Paul singlehandedly doing the locks and against the wind.
He definitely did well Raymond. That wind looked horrific. Have a nice weekend ❤
Hello You Three - greetings from Poland
"A day in the life of Paul" - fabulous video. Well done - I guess you now qualify for membership of the single handed club.
What terrible windy weather. That must have been very hard work. See you again very soon. Stay safe please
Hey Michael. He did very well especially because of the weather. Wasn’t my favourite canal but then I didn’t get to see much of it due to work. Hope you are having a good weekend ❤
Keep up the footage guys, we watched you on catchup from the very beginning, after I had been on a girlie weekend for my friends 60th. Hubby and I are hooked now, we'd love to go together one day. Hope we win.
Wishing you lots of luck!🤞🤞😁
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed the vlogs. Have a lovely weekend ❤
You definitely had your big boy pants on that day Paul, well done on doing the locks single handed and continuing your journey in the weather conditions. You should be super proud of yourself. Have a great week you three 😃
Win
He really did Mel. I was very proud when I watched it back. I wouldn’t have even attempted to move with both of us in that wind had we not have booked passage. He did amazingly well. Good luck with the draw and have a great week ❤
Bravo Paul! Great driving and filming under tricky conditions! Missed seeing Dexter and Anthony, but definitely understand why!
Aww Deb am very proud he did that solo. Wish I could have been there. The wind that day was terrible so hats off to Paul definitely. Have a lovely week ❤
Hi guys, oh, my thoughts were with you Paul as I watched your latest Vlog. In those horrendous windy conditions you did beyond extremely well. You are the master of the high seas. I hope you had a good strong drink that evening, you deserved it. I held my breath when the tripod went for a tumble. Those Autumn leaves drifting down set the scene. 🍁Dexter was in the best place, staying down below out of the wind. Happy cruising to you both this week. Love Laurel & Keith 🥂👩❤️👨🐶😺
Aww Laurel he did fantastic. I still haven’t done a lock on my own and to cope with that and the wind was brilliant. Dexter definitely had the right idea and for once, I was glad to be in work 😂. The leaves was my favourite bit. Hope you and Keith are keeping well: have an amazing week ❤
What an adventure Paul! You must have been so relieved to reach your final destination. Well done to you in all that wind. What a beautiful canal the Montgomery is. Sending good wishes to you and Anthony and Dexter. Keep safe and well all of you. x
The wind looked awful Catherine. He really did do good. I was gutted I didn’t get to see much of the Monty due to work but glad to have done it. Hope you have a good week. Take care ❤
You did really well Paul!! Is lots of work on your own. The strong winds were a battle! Good job you got long legs to cross over that lock 😅.
He did do well Sonia. The winds looked awful. I only said last night that my legs wouldn’t reach across 😂. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Another great watch thanks guys, a special day for us as our narrowboat has been brought to the Peak forest canal for us by C W boatmovers.
We said we would get a boat and today is the day we take to the water keep up the great work
Andy,Janet and Jack the 🐕
Hey. Wow how exciting that must be. Met Conor a few times on the cut and he seems like a decent guy. We are heading that way we think, so maybe see you all up there. Hope you enjoy as much as we do. Great to hear from you. Have a lovely week ❤
@Anthony Smith-Storey thank you we look forward to seeing you guys on the Peak Forest once again 😀
Well done Paul. It did look very iffy, what with the wind and all but as you said it all builds confidence. Paul, please be careful when boating solo and you step over the gates. All the best to the three of you. ❤️ Stephen
Hey Stephen. That wind! Paul did do well. I have my heart in my mouth when he steps over the gates. My little legs wouldn’t reach 😂. Hope you have had a good weekend. Have a lovely week ❤
Wow you did really well in those conditions and on your own. Loving the vlogs as always 💖 thanks for all your efforts and stay safe out there 🙏
He did do well. The wind was horrific. Rather him than me 😂. Have a lovely weekend ❤
@Anthony Smith-Storey haha thanks so much you too
Thank you! It's a sure pick me up.
Thanks for watching 👍
Aww Paul! What a baptism of fire for you! Solo locking isn’t too difficult is it? Welcome to my world! Trying to moor on your own in the wind isn’t fun though. You did brilliantly and I’m sure you won’t worry about doing locks on your own again. It’s all about having a plan and it looks like you’ve got it! Have a good weekend. Xx
Glad you enjoyed. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Well done Paul . To say your not keen on heights you here up and down them ladders like an old pro. Enjoy your week.
He did great Dave. My little legs wouldn’t have let me step over those lock gates 😂. Have a good week. Take care ❤
Well done lad 👏💪💨
Super proud Julie. Have a lovely week ❤
Good job Paul ! I think that must have been a tough day , a real confidence builder, if you can handle a boat in that weather you can handle it in any !! Great vlog ☮️
Thanks 😊 it certainly felt a lot easier on the second solo trip with no wind and lots of sunshine. Thanks for watching 👍
Well done Paul. . . great piece of solo boating and especially in such windy conditions. I too would have moved on if I had come across that noisy car park. . . I just spells nightmare to me. I always act on gut feeling. Have a lovely weekend and keep warm.
He did really well Mark. I am still yet to do a lock solo 😬. Definitely always trust your gut feeling when mooring. Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend ❤
Another groovy episode. I would never want to solo boat up and down the English canals. It can be somewhat tough at times, and of course, boating by oneself could be quite lonely. You did a fine job soloing and your guy would soon be home.
Glad you enjoyed. He really did well. I wouldn’t have fancied doing the locks on my own, especially with the wind. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Well done Paul on that solo cruise, wow that was a windy time. You looked a bit nervous but you smashed it and a well deserved rest after. Have a great week both of you. ❣
It looked exhausting Cynthia and he really did cope well on his own. Talk about a baptism of fire. Hope you have a lovely week ❤

Wow Paul, you had your hands full with that strong wind. Great job getting down where you felt safe. Hope it goes better next time you go that way and you get to enjoy it more. Have a great weekend! xx
Thanks Sheryl. He did amazingly well with the locks and the wind. Very proud. Hope you have a lovely week ❤
Paul you did so very well on your own, especially doing all the locks and contending with the windy weather. I bet you were exhausted after that day of cruising. The montgomery canal looked a little bit desolate to me. Perhaps it was just the time of the year that didn't really do it justice. Did you and Anthony enjoy this stretch? Well done again and thanks for sharing your adventures.
He did do well Louise. I hate trying to steer in the wind. I have to say it wasn’t my favourite canal as I agree, it did look desolate. Glad we did it though. Hope you have a lovely evening ❤
Well done Paul for navigating such a long stretch on your own in such challenging conditions. Glad you found somewhere to moor that was a bit quieter. Take care. Nick
Hey Nick. I was very proud when I watched it back. That wind looked very fierce. The mooring spot he chose was great with a good spot to park. Hope you have a lovely week ❤
Hello Paul,
I thought you did great, I could see how nervous you were.
I bet you have grown in confidence now.
I have just watched the crick show, it must be lovely for your fans to see you both in person, not forgetting Dexter.
I hope one of the days you do the Lancaster canal, I would love to see you.
Love watching.
Take care.x
He definitely got a gold star Jayne. I am still to do a lock on my own. Loved it at Crick and we were overwhelmed by how lovely everyone was. Definitely love to do the Lancaster in the future and with the campervan now, we can go further afield. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Nice one Paul welcome to the single handed club ;) Brought back a few memories of this summer, at the bottom of those locks if you walk along the disused bit of the arm I found a greengage tree that was prolific with fruit! :) In other news I have swapped boats with (i think mutual) friends, I am now aboard NB Florence heading for Leeds and beyond, possibly the Wash. Well done!. Ps do always have your centre line with you so you can adjust boat position, you may well have not sure form vid. Cool
He did really well Richard. Was Florence Dawn and Steve’s boat? Have a lovely weekend ❤

Wow. Jolly well done Paul. That wind looked awful 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️. We stopped there over night too. Traffic wasn’t too bad at that time
It did look awful and I was thankful to be in work 😬. He really did do well. Hope you are good. Take care and have a fab week ❤
Well done, difficult weather.
It was James. That wind looked terrible. He definitely did well. Take care ❤
Well done to Paul. Although there was a little help, he worked extra hard on this trip. With doing the locks and fighting the wind. I wondered if Dexter was frustrated as he always seems to like wondering about by the locks.
He did really well Carol. The wind looked awful. I bet Dexter didn’t like it when Paul got off the boat as he hates being on his own. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Spectacular job doing those locks solo, and filming for us!
I am very proud of him Carol. Glad you enjoyed ❤
Quite the adventure, Paul! Bravo to you for meeting the various challenges and thanks for sharing them. 😀💜
Kath I feel very proud of Paul. I still haven’t done a lock on my own yet. Hope you have a good week ❤
Hi Paul, Anthony, nice to see Dexter at the start of the Vlog. Well done going solo this week. Gavin was really helpful on the first couple of locks. Paul when you stepped from one open gate to another, my heart sank!!!! But I guess you are used to it. That 14ft lock looked really deep. You are very brave climbing the lock ladders, but it was good to see a Vlog that clearly shows crew climbing the said ladders. I was very impressed when you closed one set of lock gates whilst still on the stern of your boat. I had never seen that done before. You did so well battling with Nature's wind. And also when you reversed you controlled the situation very well. An excellent Vlog, with some nice dissolves at the start. Have you used a different camera for this Vlog, just an observation (not a criticism), on some scenes, the image lost some of it's quality with distortion on the tree's etc. Something (this week) tech-wise is different. Missed not seeing Anthony, "Hello Anthony" Hope you both have a great week. Take Care
Hey. Hope you are good. Paul definitely did a great job moving the boat solo. I always get nervous when he steps across the lock gates like that. I wouldn’t even risk it with my short legs 😂. The wind did look horrific and in normal circumstances we probably wouldn’t have cruised at all. Not sure about the cameras. Maybe some was filmed on the phone as most us filmed on our main camera. Have a great week. Take care ❤
Nice bit of solo boating Paul, it’s a skill you should both practice in the event one of you gets put out of action.
Couldn’t agree more Mike. Definitely want to learn to do locks solo. Hats off to all the solo boaters out there. Have a great week and hopefully we will bump into you before we head to the Macclesfield. ❤
Oh boy Paul that was so well done, after all that I’d bet you’ll be one of the ones saying it’s not worth it, struggling like you had to takes so much of the pleasure away eh then thinking you may have trouble with the prop, mate you did so well, I’d have been feeling just like you but you did it, exhausted but you did it. If it hadn’t been so windy it could have been a lovely trip. It was a great vlog thanks heaps for sharing. Oh yeah, those locks, deep, so deep. Take care and see you three next week. 💕
Hey Pauline. I was very proud watching back. He did amazing. The wind is a hinderance at the best of times but even worse when solo. I don’t think we would cruise normally in that weather but we had booked the slot. Definitely would have been more pleasurable without that wind I guess. Hope you have a great week. ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247. I so understand why you felt pride. I KNOW how hard that was, to boot it must have been really frightening too. 💕

Happy Saturday! It really gives you an appreciation for solo boaters. Especially the women, like Heidi. It's really hard and exhausting work if you are solo and not traveling with other boaters. That wind was terrible so there's no doubt why it was a battle---but definitely a confidence builder. Great job Paul!
Well, Anthony we didn't didn't get near the snow predicted here. About 1 1/2 inches was all. Some other places got a lot though. For some reason this area doesn't get much which is fine with me. I didn't need to go anywhere so I let the car self-clean itself of the ice and snow when it got warmer and sunny. 🙂
It's seemed prudent for safety and tranquility to bypass that mooring. It was probably safe enough but they might have stayed there through most of the night. Well, have a great week and take care. ❤ I read that you got free of the ice and can move again! 👍
Hey Dorothy. It really did look exhausting and have always said, hats off to the solo boaters. The wind did look a struggle.
Aww fabulous, glad you didn’t get as much snow as forecast. I love the snow but only when I can sit indoors and watch. Hate it when it turns to slush and ice 😬.
Talking of which, we have finally managed to break free 😊. Onward and upward to a new canal. Have a lovely week ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 I keep hoping the worst is over but maybe this time it really is. It hasn't been bad this winter here but I'm still ready for an end to it. I'm sure you are glad to be free of the ice again. Is the flooding a big problem for you on the canals? Take care! ❤
@@dorothydotson7154 hey Dorothy. I bet you can’t wait until it ends. Flooding not been an issue this year but I know it can be. Here is to a problem free cruising Year x
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 I am ready for spring! Glad the canals haven't flooded altho being frozen in isn't good either. Some narrowboaters on the Thames were dealing with flooding but I hope that is over. Have a great week. ❤
@@dorothydotson7154 looking forward to spring too. Enjoy your week too. Take care ❤️
Shame you never got into Weston Arm, the services have a guestbook !
A nice 'simple' thumbnail by the way, quite a win 😉😂
😂. I am saying nothing David. Thanks for all your help today. X
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 More than welcome 👍
Well done ,hard work but great video
Hey did great Simon. It did look exhausting. Hope you have a good week ❤
Hi ya Paul And high to the absent Anth, looks like you are doing a great Job, Envious of you but I will get my a boat. Take care John from NZ Kaiora and cheers 4 now.
Hey John. That definitely looked like hard work but he did great. Aww have everything crossed for you re your boat. Take care ❤
Well done, Paul! A solo-lock-cruising baptism of wind XD I personally would've looked at the weather and gone, "bit first, a nap!' Did Dexter dog worry whenever you got off the boat to do a lock?
The mics were ace, good thing you got them.
Hope all is well with you three, have a great week! xx
Was very proud watching this. I am not sure I would want to do the locks on my own. Definitely not in that weather. Dexter wouldn’t have liked being on his own bless him. Glad you thought the mics were good. We are all good. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Pa that car park is fine We stayed there over night as others did too just to say 😊
😂. I am sure it would have been. Just when you get a gut feeling, it sort of gnaws at you. 😮
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 I know what you mean trust your gut feelings always
Great vlog you picked a real windy day to go solo. Uuupphh
Paul, Anthony and Dexter love your vlogs. I’m sure cruising is more fun together but thank you for showing us the way it is sometimes when you are still working
Hey Ginger. I have yet to do a lock on my own and am still nervous at the prospect. He did great though. Hope you have a lovely week ❤
Hi,
Single handed must be really difficult to do full time Nice video as usual though. PS I don't want to win as I couldn't get there ;-)
Hey Will. Definitely hats go off to all the full time solo boaters. Paul did well with the locks and that wind. Aww shame you couldn’t make it. We are hoping to go on the Saturday. Have a lovely week ❤
Thank you 😊
Cheers Jules ❤
WIN
Another lovely vlog x
Thanks Stephanie. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
Great effort Paul, that wind is always a game changer. You should be proud of yourself. 👍
Hey did really well Jim. I am not sure I would have even gone out in that wind. Hope you have a fab week. Take care ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 Thanks Anthony, hope you guys have a great week too. Our boat is ready for launch so we are looking at 3rd week of Feb.....so exciting but also nerve wracking lol 😀 xx
@@Jimsky1234 oh my God, that isn’t long off at all. Best of luck with the launch and the future adventures. 😊
Whew, I was really concerned for you! That looked very challenging, dealing with such a windy day. You're a nice big fella too. I'm barely over five feet tall, prolly would have knocked me down and put the boat right across the canal. Was Dexter terribly upset with all of it? I'll be curious to see if you continue on, or turn back. Better wait for Anthony's help!
Hey Debba. When I watched it back it looked exhausting. For once I was glad to be in work. I am like you, I am only 5’4” and definitely not got long enough legs to step over the locks. Paul did really well. Hope you have had a nice weekend. Have a great week ❤
We've been up there many years ago. It was very shallow and very big reed banks. But it was fantastic. Good fun in the wind pal, you lock naked.
Hey Mark. Yeah, that was exactly what we experience. Very limited mooring spots but glad we have done it. The wind is a real hinderance and I thought he did well too. Hope you have a good week. ❤
That was certainly a windy day to cruise single handed in Paul. I liked the idea of pushing the lock gates shut with the boat hook too, think I’ll be trying that method myself. 👍
Still not done a lock myself yet. Definitely wouldn’t have wanted to have cruised in that wind. Not long now Phil. Looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks. ❤
Blimey that wind was a bit wild, Paul I bet you enjoyed your lunch and coffee after that 🥺☕️, I hope you are all enjoying your weekend, we are in middle of winter but you can almost feel that spring is just around the corner ☺️🌱 onwards to sunshine and warmer days, have a great week xx
He did good Lorna. The wind looked awful. Definitely proud of him when I saw the vlog. We feel the same here, still a bit cold but you can here the birds excited for spring. Here is to a bit of sunshine. Have a lovely week ❤
wonderful vlog, i was blown away by your wonderful footage! 🙂
Thank you Florian. Glad you enjoyed. He did well and capturing the process too. Hope you enjoy the week ahead ❤
