Here from rural Canada. My wife and I have now gone to the UK for a decade to enjoy the canals for a month. Very kind of you to alter your journey to help out the "stuck" narrowboat. We have been impressed with the kindness of the people on the canal and rivers. It just so happens we will be doing this route next spring and I have hopefully marked the spot of this event to avoid it on our journey. Thank for your generosity in sharing your boating journey.
Hey good luck with the holiday guys. We absolutely love the community on the canals. Glad you enjoyed our journey and hope it helps with yours. Have a lovely weekend guys. Sorry for the late reply. ❤
It really was stressful. The indignity of being lifted up bless him. He did so well holding it in. The next day was a lot more calm. 😊. Have a great weekend ❤
Hi guys and Dexter dog! What an exciting cruise this week. You guys are amazing!!!! Rescuing fellow boaters in distress. You both handled the stress of your own like Champions. The world needs more examples like you two! Bless you both. Hoping you are all well and enjoying a lovely day. From your Florida fans. John, Dean, Johann & Greta P.S. Johann & Greta send special belly rubs to the most handsome Dexter dog. Hugs and ❤
Hey guys. Good to hear from you. It was quite the day 😬. I did panic when our boat spun 180°. So glad we all got moored up safely. All good onboard. Hope you guys are too. Belly rubs to Greta and Johann and love to you both. Have you seen the series Love Victor. Very heartwarming. ❤️ 💜 🐕
I love that the Lock Keeper’s dog has his own little chair for lounging and watching the narrow boats go through the lock ! It’s so great being able to take your dog to work !
Love how light and bright the inside of Morning Star is due to the sky lights and also really enjoy seeing the reflections of clouds, bridge and trees in the skylights as well !
We’ll done you two that looked rather scary on the rescue and we’ll done Dexter on waiting to go potty. The river looks rather tricky to navigate too. Ah well you made it to the lock 👏. Take care have a good weekend now go and crack open the wine🤣
Thanks Judith. I was totally scared to be honest, especially when the boat spun around. It can be tricky on rivers because of the flow and lack of moorings. Bless Dexter. He did so well. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Well that was a bit of a heart stopper, not a great day, I thought you’d hit that abandoned boat for a while there. I guess you have to have days like those to make you really appreciate the good days. We moved into our new house last week and finally have internet, I can now be sure I don’t miss any of your adventures. Sending love to the three of you, stay safe. 💕
Hey Pauline. It was quite the day. I totally panicked when the boat spun around 180°. Was pleased we could help though and everyone got safely moored. I will never complain about a mundane day again 😂. Congratulations and many happy memories in your new home. Glad you are all sorted with the internet. Amazing how much we rely on it. Love from us three. Have a great weekend ❤
Canal and River Rescue R Us... 😅 I thought you were about to have a panic attack when your boat began drifting. I think you need a bigger propeller or better still, a twin prop. The pink tee shirts matched your faces by the time you got sorted. Well done guys. A good deed indeed.
Hey Harry. That was quite the drama. I thought I was going to have a panic attack too. So scary. We definitely need a bigger prop. Luckily all ended well and several glasses of wine were consumed. Hope you are keeping well and safe in this weather. Take care ❤
Pure joy. Rescuing the boat, on a river, is beyond next level boat handling. Well done. I once spun a grp boat 180 degrees going into a lock with an aggressive bywash. My mates incorrectly assumed it was intentional. You may have assumed that heading the wrong way, after the rescue, was a mistake. It wasn't. :-) You were merely working with the flow of the river in regaining full control of your boat. Fighting the river would have been 'difficult'. Take care.
'scary' concisely describes the heightened sense of awareness that Anthony displayed during and briefly after the ambitious rescue. :-) Next level boating skills and next level film creation skills. Smiling for most of the video did start to hurt my face. This is the way, indeed.
Dramarama! Beautiful day for it though :-) Poor Dexter, I bet he had all 4 legs crossed by the end. I hope you found something to eat! Since you asked us, I Live in South Australia 🙂 *hugs*
It really was a dramatic day but as you said, the weather was on our side at least. Poor Dexter bless him. I ended up making chorizo pasta. Oh nice, only ever visited eastern Oz. Hugs to you too. ❤️
Hi guys, wow, what a incredible journey youse had this time rescuing boats and the worst of all no sausage rolls for dinner , keep up the good work. Love your videos , Cliff from Logan City Queensland Australia
Hey Cliff. It was quite the day! Panicked when our boat started to spin in the opposite direction and to top it off, no sausage rolls 😂. Glad you enjoy the vlogs. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Aww poor Dexter waiting to have a wee bless him he's a trouper. That was nice of you to help those other boaters who were stuck. Paul seems a bit of a worry wart lol xxx
We felt so sorry for him Angela and then facing the indignity of being hoisted up to use the toilet. Bless him. We definitely couldn’t have left them stranded. Glad we all moored safely. Paul is a bit of a worrier. 😂. Have a great week ❤️
😂. Gutted re the sausage rolls. Aww bless Dexter and the indignity of having to get lifted up to go to the toilet. I cannot believe we had the same T shirt on. 😂. Hope you are having a good start to your weekend Colin. ❤
Sorry you miss your sausage Roll I like you both and Dexter to KYABRAM is a country town in Victoria who has a Zoo not far from were I live on my own love the show
My god I had to have a drink after that video . . . I was a bundle of nerves watching it 😂. Well done on the rescue guys. Great video as always. Have a lovely weekend.
What a cracking video, and well done on the rescue. No wonder you were exhausted and bless Dexter he did so well. We're watching from the beautiful mountain village of Casares, Andalusia, Spain. If you get a chance, have a quick peak on the tube.
Thanks Raymond. Pleased everyone got to moor up safely. It was a very tiring day and bless Dexter and the indignity of being hoisted up for a wee. Love Andalusia. We did a tour around but didn’t get to Casares. We loved Granada and Rhonda. In fact, we nearly bought a place in Granada. Had a look and Casares looks beautiful. Have a lovely weekend ❤️
Epic day!! So relieved that it ended well after so many unexpected adventures. Impossible to just keep going past people in dire straits, and you did such a great job in rescuing them and avoiding your own disaster. I should think that would have been a very strong drink, or maybe two …!
It really was quite the day Cherry. I really panicked when the boat spun around and was so relieved when we were all moored up safely. Definitely couldn’t have left that couple stranded. A few drinks were certainly had 😂. Have a great week ❤️
Awe bless, we would have sorted you out 😁 you passed us at Upton, we could see Grav fishing on the Jetty on your video as you passed 🤣 Good rescue, really enjoyed the video & your company obviously 😁 xx
Hey Michael. It was quite the day. I really panicked when the boat spun around 😬. It was stunning weather though 😊. We are great thank you. Have a lovely week ❤️
So now I'm exhausted, but good job Anthony, steering through all that mess! That's the price of being good guys -- and you are always ready to pay, it seems. Thank you for sharing -- the vicarious river life is wonderful and not possible without you!
Thanks Diana. My heart was in my mouth during that rescue. We definitely couldn’t have passed them by and who knows when we need help. Glad you are enjoying the vlogs. Have a fab weekend ❤
😂. Never thought of it like that Steve. We couldn’t have left them there. I did panic when the boat started to spin! Thanks for your kind words. Have a great week ❤️
Thanks guys, another great vlog. It's funny you should mention hindsight. I'm now bottling hindsight for just those occasions. It comes in 3 sizes, small medium and large. A small bottle is £1.99, medium is £4.99 and large $9.99. 🤣
Hey Rhea. We have been to Washington DC, never visited the state. I think they were so relieved when we managed to rescue them. Hope you have a great weekend ❤
We're up on the Llangollen moored in Trevor basin sheltering from the weather walked across the aquaduct earlier was hairy . Looking forward to seeing you both
Talk about it cliffhanger I could feel the tension. The River Seven is just beautiful and I know you won't be going that way but the estuary is stunning. Thanks for sharing. Love to the three of you ❤Stephen
It was so scary Stephen, especially when it felt like the boat was tipping up! Glad you enjoyed. So pleased everyone escaped unscathed. Hope you are keeping safe with this terrible weather. Enjoy the weekend ❤
Well ….. this has been a very stressful watch 😱 I was so nervous for you. Thank goodness you were all safe, you did a great job Anthony 💪 have a great week xxx
Oh wow, guys! That was touch & go there for a while! 😮 You were so kind to help out - that's why I love you guys. You are true gentlemen - even in your strawberry ice cream tee shirts! Have a great weekend! xxx ❤
Hey Kathy. It really was. When the boat spun 180° I really panicked. We couldn’t have just passed them. They were a lovely couple too. Can’t believe we had matching clothes on 😂. Have a good weekend ❤
Thanks guys for taking us along on this beautiful cruise and well done for skilfully saving the stranded boat. I hope that you three are doing well. Take care and all the best. Stevie
The beauty of the river would have eased my stress I think but would not have compensated for the lack of sausage rolls 😂 Have a great week and safe travels ❤
I dunno - if you hadn’t done a walk around Tewksbury, you’d have been kicking yourself for not doing so while you had the chance - or at least that’s what I would have done! We are harder on ourselves than we would ever be to a stranger - it’s not often that I can lie in, but when I can, I take full advantage, nothing better! Also a big fan of naps, but I digress since I’m 🇨🇦, I originally wrote ‘Toquesbury’ and thought ‘No that can’t be right!’ 🤣😄For those not familiar, Toques are winter hats in Canada but pronounced the same
We definitely would have kicked ourselves for not having a look around. It was beautiful too. Love a lie in when I can too. Never heard of Torques. Will have to google now 😂. Have a good weekend ❤️
@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked when I lived in the States for a few years I astounded my co-worker by referring to a toque, and my reply ‘so what do you call them? Knit hats you wear in winter?’ 🤣😄 I think we have the French Canadians to thank for having a proper word for winter head gear - I was pretty surprised though, I thought everyone called them that
Hi Anthony and Paul. What a nail biting end. I’m glad you were able to help that couple and moor in the end. I’m sure you’re right that you’d like to think that if you were ever in the same situation that someone would be willing to help. Take care. Nick
It was a scary situation Nick. Glad everyone came out unscathed. I always like to thing good turns come back to you. They were so relieved. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
I don’t think anything can be scarier than knowing you have little if no control over the situation. Mother Nature always has a way of reminding us that we are not the be all and end all. You did an amazing job keeping calm during a frustrating time. You’ve come a long way since you first started out and I’m very proud of both of you.
Anthony - thought you handled that rescue very well - I was laying on the sofa with my border terrier at my feet & getting very tense at rescuing those people. Greetings to Paul and Dexter too! All the best…..Kevin & Finn 👍😀
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 Thanks Anthony - I have enjoyed watching your journey - thanks for the amazing content that you guys produce. Enjoy your weekend and I hope you still managed to get some nice sausage rolls. 👍😀
Wow!!! What an episode and still the two of you so calm 😂 collected and kind. Dexter must have a bladder of steel, glad you guys found a spot for him to relief himself. I hope you two found some dinner or pub 💙 I feel like I need a nap now 😅 but it’s absolutely lovely to check into your channel every weekend. It’s my positive reinforcement for my week. Cheers to you both from California, USA.
Hey. Glad you enjoyed. It was quite the day. We panicked when the boat spun 180°! Poor Dexter and the indignity of being hoisted up to go to the toilet. I ended up rustling a chorizo pasta dish and copious amounts of wine 🍷. Glad you are enjoying the vlogs. Have a lovely week ❤️
Happy Friday evening to you. 😊 A glorious day of cruising but not without its difficulties. It's a beautiful river but it seems to come with a lot of problems. I really wouldn't like the lack of moorings but the lack of locks would be nice. Poor Dexter needing off the boat was bad. I bet he was wondering why you just kept going and going. Pete would have had it all organized for sure. ☺ I know the current weather isn't so great though. The terrible storm seems to be affecting the whole country. I hope you are moored someplace safe. I think it would be scary to be near the sea with wind and rain like that! The seaside villages are getting battered. ❤ So take care, keep dry and have a great weekend. ❤
Happy Friday Dorothy. Definitely an eventful day. I couldn’t wait to get back on the canals if I am honest. The lack of moorings wasn’t for me either. Bless Dexter. The indignity of being lifted for a wee. Pete would have had us up at the crack of dawn to make sure we didn’t miss the lock. The storms have been terrible. The canal where we are looks like the sea and we have had to loosen the mooring ropes too. I feel for the people who are experiencing the worst of the floods. Hope you are having a lovely evening and have a great weekend ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 Sounds like Pete fits that bill as planner. I always feel less stress and anxiety if I know the rules. Not good with the "seat of my pants" approach. 😋 Yes, poor Dexter in his seniority deserves more dignity, but of course there was no way to stop for him and then the lifting. Batten down the hatches and stay safe. ❤
Lovely of you to stop and help when you were having troubles of your own. The narrowboating community does seem to look after each other; that’s quite rare these days. You’re very lucky. Best wishes from Hong Kong!
Hey Rob. Now we loved Hong Kong when we visited about 12 years ago. Great, busy place. That is the thing I absolutely love about the boating community. Most are willing to help. We definitely couldn’t have passed them by. Glad everyone got a safe mooring. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Well done for rescuing that other boat. Such a kind thing to do, especially when it could have put you into danger. I love Tweskbury we go there when we can. Love your channel guys.
Thanks Scott. So pleased everyone managed to more safely. We did panic when the boat spun 😬. Tewksbury is a beautiful village. Glad you enjoy the vlogs. Have a lovely weekend ❤️
Must be quite scarey getting stuck. Especially if you’re just waiting for passing help. Glad you boys were able to help. Very picturesque location tho. Have a fabulous week ❤
Hey Trevor. They had been there for hours. We were pleased we managed to rescue them but was scary when the boat spun around. We did have a lovely evening together though. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Another Swede here ! Best holiday ever was cruising on the Llangollen a couple of years ago with our friends. Love following you two and your adventures 😊
We were chuckling about your new crew outfits🤪did you accidentally put the same stuff on? Or were you doing the yachty thing where they have the same kit? Well done for rescuing those boaters, I hope they have you a bottle for saving them! Heart in mouth moments when you got spun round! You could really see how strong the current was, but well done Anthony , you handled that like a seasoned pro. Calm when you are doing it , time for panic when you have done. A great vlog ☮️
Hey Crichie. Definitely an accident 😂. We were glad we could manage to free them and they did give us some chocs and wine bless them. They didn’t need to do that. I was proper panicky when we spun round. It definitely needed a glass of wine at the end of the day. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Brilliant Vlog!! Well done you two for helping out fellow boaters. What an eventful day for you three. Thank goodness it was a glorious day. Sending love 🥰❤
Thanks guys. Yeah, the weather was on our side at least. Glad we could help although I am not going to lie, I panicked when the boat spun around. Sending love to the three of you ❤
Dexter did well with his legs crossed! That was quite a cruise from the twin mariners (!), hope you are safe during this storm, near us the canal has overflowed into the river - or it may be vice versa - but no fun if you are in the wrong place. Stay safe.
We felt so sorry for him Joy. He really did do well. I can’t believe we were dressed the same 😂. All safe thank you. The canal is definitely very full and wild. Luckily the canals are safer than the rivers. Stay safe and take care ❤

Thanks Henry. We will take your entire stock 😂. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
From Washington State USA. Love watching you cruise. I am sure that couple are so grateful for your help.
Hey Rhea. We have been to Washington DC, never visited the state. I think they were so relieved when we managed to rescue them. Hope you have a great weekend ❤
Oh wow Paul and Anthony that was one of the most entertaining vlogs I've seen for a while funny and great to see you both . Ruth and David
Hey guys. Hope you are both ok. Glad you enjoyed. It was a hell of a day 😂. Take care you two ❤
We're up on the Llangollen moored in Trevor basin sheltering from the weather walked across the aquaduct earlier was hairy . Looking forward to seeing you both
@@cotcottage2788 I bet it was. Very blustery. Be good to see you both too x
It’s an exciting and a beautiful video. You both did a wonderful thing to help others in need. Now you both deserve a drink!!!thank you for sharing 💙💙
Thank you. We definitely wouldn’t have left them stranded. After the drama, we did have a few glasses of wine 😂. Have a great weekend ❤️
We were very scared Angela. Glad we actually all got moored safely. Hope you have a fab week too ❤️
Watching from Canada and really enjoy your videos. Happy cruising ⚓️😀
Thanks Scott. Canada is definitely on our bucket list. Glad you enjoy the vlogs. ❤️
Bravo to you both: quite a rescue mission! 👏👏👏
Thanks Kath.
Thanks guys for taking us along on this beautiful cruise and well done for skilfully saving the stranded boat. I hope that you three are doing well. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Thanks Stevie. It was quite scary I can tell you. So glad everyone escaped unscathed. Hope you have a lovely week. Take care ❤
Hello!
from the South Island of New Zealand.
I loved this episode, it was fun to watch !!
Helen
Hey Helen,
Glad you enjoyed this vlog. New Zealand is definitely on our bucket list to visit. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
Hi, yes definitely come, it's great.
Maybe bring a yacht though instead
of a narrowboat !!
@@hpalmer9163 😂 x
Good for you guys, helping but yikes! That was so stressful!😅
Thanks Jayne. It really was quite stressful to be honest 😬. Have a good weekend ❤
Hola from Mexico!!
Hola. ?Que tal¿ Hasta la próxima semana. ❤
Well that was scary. Well done helping the other boaters. A wonderful thing to do. I would need a drink or three after that. Take care and cheers
I definitely needed a drink or three afterwards 😂. Glad everyone came out unscathed. Have a great weekend ❤
Well done Anthony, you're a star! I'm sure that couple were so grateful to you and Paul for helping. Hope Dexter got to the bathroom ok❤
I was glad it was Anthony at the tiller and not me 🫣
The beauty of the river would have eased my stress I think but would not have compensated for the lack of sausage rolls 😂 Have a great week and safe travels ❤
😂. It was indeed beautiful Alan. I was stressed when our boat spun around! Definitely made worse by lack of sausage rolls! 😂. Have a great week ❤️
Also a big fan of naps, but I digress
since I’m 🇨🇦, I originally wrote ‘Toquesbury’ and thought ‘No that can’t be right!’ 🤣😄For those not familiar, Toques are winter hats in Canada but pronounced the same
We definitely would have kicked ourselves for not having a look around.
Knit hats you wear in winter?’ 🤣😄 I think we have the French Canadians to thank for having a proper word for winter head gear - I was pretty surprised though, I thought everyone called them that
Well done do boys for helping that couple out, but omg that was a stressful watch! Glad you got there in the end. Have a lovely weekend 🥰🥰
Thanks Lesley. We couldn’t have just left them. It was very scary. So pleased we all escaped unscathed. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Greetings from New Hampshire, US. This was a great episode and I loved your positive attitudes and teamwork.
Greeting to you. So glad you enjoyed this. The rescue was a bit stressful but pleased everyone managed to moor safely. Hope you have a lovely week ❤️
I'm sure Dexter is excited about the mention of Sausage rolls 😅💙💙🐾
Definitely Susan. He is so food orientated. ❤️
Wow, I thought the last vlog was suspenseful!! 😮
Hey Catherine. It was really eventful. We were very scared. Glad you enjoyed. Have a fab weekend ❤
I don’t think anything can be scarier than knowing you have little if no control over the situation. Mother Nature always has a way of reminding us that we are not the be all and end all. You did an amazing job keeping calm during a frustrating time. You’ve come a long way since you first started out and I’m very proud of both of you.
@@catherineatkins7908 thank you. She really is a powerful beast and if not respected, can be harsh. Was so grateful we all got moored safely ❤️
Anthony - thought you handled that rescue very well - I was laying on the sofa with my border terrier at my feet & getting very tense at rescuing those people. Greetings to Paul and Dexter too! All the best…..Kevin & Finn 👍😀
Hey Kevin. My heart was in my mouth to be honest. So glad we managed to rescue them and ourselves 😂. Have a lovely evening and belly rubs for Finn ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 Thanks Anthony - I have enjoyed watching your journey - thanks for the amazing content that you guys produce. Enjoy your weekend and I hope you still managed to get some nice sausage rolls. 👍😀
@@kevin-sk7mt ❤️
Well that was nail biting, holding my breath at times 😱
It was quite scary, especially when the boat spun round! ❤
Wow!!!
What an episode and still the two of you so calm 😂 collected and kind.
Dexter must have a bladder of steel, glad you guys found a spot for him to relief himself. I hope you two found some dinner or pub 💙
I feel like I need a nap now 😅 but it’s absolutely lovely to check into your channel every weekend.
It’s my positive reinforcement for my week.
Cheers to you both from
California, USA.
Not to far Plymouth Devon . Nice save there well done lads
Aww they were so grateful John. What a day it was. Have a lovely week ❤️
Very nice video
Thank David. Glad you enjoyed. Have a lovely weekend. ❤

Loved this. Very dramatic! Well done. Very nice of you to help out.
Thanks Sarah. It was quite a scary thing to do but glad everyone came out unscathed. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Hey Maggie. Glad you enjoy the vlogs. So glad you got to experience the Llangollen. It is absolutely stunning. Have a great weekend ❤
Blimey! What a day… well done Anthony you did well controlling the boat. I’m in Dorset, no canels down here 😢
It really was a day Tracie. Really panicked when it spun around. Dorset is a beautiful part of the world. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Loved this episode. I had to go for a wee for Dexter afterwards 😂
😂. Thanks Jude. Aww I know bless him. The indignity of being hoisted up to go wee. Have a lovely week ❤️
@@NarrowboatLifeUnlocked , I love Dexter and both of you ❤️

Thanks Anna. I was really panicking when the boat spun around. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
