How lovely to have someone wake you up to see the stars! It inspired me to write a (very amateurish) Haiku (5-7-5 ): "Wake up Paul wake up/The sky is full of bright stars/Married life unlocked." The two musical interludes at the end were brilliant, especially the first one with the willow branches and the sunlight . . . Thanks again for sharing!

What another fun vlog - thanks guys! The joke shops - I completely forgot that I used to go to one at a very swanky indoor mall, when I was a kid! The mall management tucked it out of the way, in a dark corner that few people ventured into! Loved it! 😁 I never knew that Chester was such a charming place, with all of its ancient buildings. I would love to visit, if I make it back over. The talk about the heat is now such a distant memory, since cold air came in early, this season. There has been snow flying, records broken, and forecast for even colder! But, at least the sun usually shines brightly, here - that really helps. Looking forward to the next vlog! 👍
I have fond memories of walking to the local shop and buying the odd joke or magic trick. Still love buying magic tricks today. Chester really is lovely, we may head there for Christmas x

We saw a brilliant busker in Chester, I’d say the best busker I’d ever seen, played an electric violin. I’m impressed, stinking hot day, five locks and out for tea. I’d have been asleep on the table. That trip was so very pretty, thanks for taking us along. Best wishes to the three of you, take care. 💕
Lovely weather for cruising albeit a bit warm for Dexter. It's grey, miserable and raining here just now, so your vlog was a welcome alternative.
Microphones seem much clearer, but be aware they pick up background noise when going through locks, which can be quite loud.
That said, the vlog was great.
I am old enough to remember listening to Archie Andrews and Peter Brough the ventriloquist on the RADIO. What was the point of that? Nobody could see the ventriloquism in action.
Time for a gottle o geer. 🤣

Hi Anthony and Paul. A brilliant video looking back to the lovely weather. That stretch of canal from Beeston in to Chester is definitely scenic. I grew up near Christleton and remember as kids going to help at the Christleton and Greenfield locks. Glad you got to visit my home city and had a meal down by the river. John and I always used to moor up at Egg Bridge overnight and then cruise down to moor up in Chester just past the main road bridge below the wall.. Always spent a couple of days there and then down the staircase for another couple of days. Loved it our favourite city of all.
Christelton seems like a good place to moor too. We may head to Chester for Christmas, probably in a car rather than the boat though. Have a good week Liz xx

As a student nurse, I was caring for a blind lady, with a great sense of humour. We also had a sour Puss Ward Sister. The patient got some inserts for her ciggies that caused a snowstorm. She got the sister to light up. Never seen anything so great, there was snow everywhere, on her fringe on the table. How she kept a straight face. The Sister had a panic attack, went to the shop and reported them and got a new packet out of it!!!

Glad to see you with hats now. Hot sun on your heads is not a good thing. We moored, like you did, in sight of Beeston Castle, and spent a lovely evening watching the deer when they emerged from the trees that are around the castle. There were loads of them. That was back in 2016, so don’t know if they’re still there

Well the kettle went on, eggs on to boil for breakfast and now sat down having breakfast watching Narrowboat Morning Star and the latest adventures. More beautiful scenery again, bringing back memories of my younger days in England on days out to Chester. I never did walk the wall though, and won't be doing it now either 🤔. Super vlog! Does it add any pressure to you in making these vlogs that we keep saying how wonderful / delightful/ entertaining they are? Seeing again the interior of Morningstar in the introduction makes me realize what a tough act Oakums (and you, too) have in trying to match or better Morningstar. Loved the foggy morning - it reminded me of early mornings on my grandmother's farm, everything calm and quiet.

Hi Paul, Anthony and Dexter-Dog. Great Vlog this week, as is every week. The matching Tee shirts at the start of the Vlog were very trendy. Loving the chat and banter which always is so much fun. Loving Paul's Ventriloquist banter which was amazing. It would be so funny, if Anthony sat on Paul's knee (even though Anthony's Mum warned him against such things), with Paul saying which way we have to go, then Paul doing his Ventriloquism thru Anthony, telling Paul, he should go the other way!!!!!!! I nearly fell off my chair when Paul was talking about the Fresh Field smell, whilst Anthony was pointing at Paul. Not been to Chester myself for years now. You guys have some really nice friends. Very much enjoyed the vlog. Quite a bit of teasing going on there. When Paul was suggesting Anthony could be his ventriloquist dummy, well I would have given him a smack or a good pinch at least. I'm currently doing a refurbishment of a 1890's house for a friend. We started it in January 2020 and still at it, although mostly on my own but with the owner helping as much as she can when I need her to.
After our very first week on a narrow boat, my wife and I were hooked, so much so that we booked another week next summer.
I really got the bug and was looking to see if we could by a boat. It really became a toss up between a narrow boat and a motorhome because, having owned caravans for 15 years some time ago, we enjoy the camping and the flexible lifestyle. Boating is very much like camping but on water and probably bit more relaxed.
However, after much deliberation, we realised that there are many more miles of roads we can cover in a m/h and still also enjoy the occasional narrow boat holiday.
We have now purchased a Motorhome and are looking forward to using it as soon as we can.
I've taken a keen interest in quite a lot of the canal channels on here and I thoroughly enjoy seeing where everyone is traveling.
Our 2023 canal holiday will see us hopefully picking up the boat at Alvechurch marina near Coventry with a view to traveling to Stratford-upon-Avon, staying there overnight and seeing a play in the theater, we both love Shakespeare and visit there at least two or three times a year.
Just realised this has turned into War & Peace.

I am actually looking at getting a campervan so we can move further afield next year and I can travel back for work for 2 nights and then back to the boat. House renovation sounds like hard work but very rewarding. Who knows, we may even bump into you on the canal at some point. ❤️

I spent the entire lockdown(and more)in this area with Chugabug, Morningstar and Amy Jo… I feel like it’s back home for me… Tattenhall, The Shady Oak and Egg Bridge are all fond memories💜💜💜

Hi guys. Super vlog as always, 👏👏the long line of boats you cruised past are the Golden Nook moorings. Narrowboaters and fellow vloggers Chris and Shell have a berth there and Gary Captain Phillips has vlogged the Golden Nook moorings on a number of occasions as he used to have a berth for a long while at Tattenhall Marina. The other castle you could see near Beeston is Peckforton Castle which is a popular but very expensive wedding venue.
