Late to watch, but I have to say, I love the quiet of the new MORNINGSTAR. Dexter acting like a young pup was fun to see. Love all the seating at the back of the boat.
Hey Mary. Glad you have caught up. Definitely love the quietness too. Dexter having a puppy moment 🥰. That stern is definitely meant for entertaining. 😊. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Aww thanks you Holly. I should be back next week 😊. I don’t miss the engine either, love we can hear the birds and the water clearly. Have a lovely week. ❤
Glad you liked. We never considered the reflections when we got the boat but they look amazing in the skylights. Definitely more peaceful with electric. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
How beautiful the birds sound. Dexter is going through his puppy hood again, and your home is just a delight. I have been in hospital for 10weeks, quite poorly, home now and on the right track. Love your new home boys ❤
Hey Jan. The birds sound amazing without the engine. Melts my heart when Dexter has a puppy moment 😊. So sorry to hear you haven’t been well. Good to hear you are on the mend. Sending hugs from us all ❤
Thanks Lorna. We never have this a thought when we were getting skylights but it really is fab to see the reflections. Hope your enjoying your weekend ❤
Oh my gosh! four times watching this i had to rewind as I drifted off to sleep! NOT boredom I hasten to add - it was just so relaxing! 😃I'm currently starting my touring in my Doblo high top and on Thursday I thought of you three when I was in Llangollen by the canal. 😀❤❤
Nah then, ay up me ducks. I agree with you about the sound of an engine. I love the sounds and smells of a lovely old engine on boats and somewhat miss the sound of an engine on yours but watching you silently cruise along with all the sounds of nature/wildlife is very relaxing. Ay a good 'un guys 🙂👍
I love the old Lister engines too. But definitely love the fact that nature is amplified with quiet cruising. Nature was what drew us to the canals. Hope you are having a good start to the week ❤
I don’t miss the engine noise. It is so much easier to hear you talk. You did great Paul, doing a solo through the tunnel. Love seeing Dexter running, and the last clip of him laying on his cooling mat. Right after that clip, the view of the bridge with and it’s reflection on the side of the boat. Love how it highlights the way the color changes shades. Beautiful! 🤗😊❤️🐾 Kathy
Thanks Kathy. I don’t miss it too and Dexter definitely doesn’t. He seems so much more relaxed when we cruise. Paul did well steering the boat. You definitely can see the colour changing in different lighting. Hope you have a great weekend ❤
To answer Paul's question: I don't miss the engine noise at all! (I would much rather hear the birds, the swish of the water, and what you are saying!!!!). The tunnel was amazing, particularly because of the reflections of the tunnel ceiling in your skylight windows. It looked like some kind of artwork, with the colored navigation lights and the ceiling reflected in the window. And then as you came out of the tunnel, slowly the bright reflection of the sky and trees appeared in the window--amazing. And so cool to see Dexter bounding about! Have a wonderful week.
Hey James. Me neither. Much rather hear the sounds of nature. Paul did well through the tunnel. We never considered the reflections in the skylights but they are stunning at times. Dexter definitely having a puppy moment and it melts my heart bless him. Have a fabulous week and take care ❤
Thanks for taking us along on this beautiful cruise, I do like the silence of this boat as all you can hear is lapping of water and the sound of songbirds, I do know what you mean though Paul about missing the engine sound but I'm sure that you'll soon get used to it. I hope that you three are doing well. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Hey Stevie. Hope you have had a good week. Glad you enjoyed. I don’t miss the engine sound and Dexter definitely doesn’t. He seems more settled when cruising now. You could never hear the lapping of the water before and it is so relaxing. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Glad you enjoyed Caroline. Sorry I missed this cruise, it looked lovely. The skylights make for an interesting canvas when we cruise, something we never thought about. Dexter much prefers indoors in tunnels bless him. Have a lovely weekend ❤
That was excellent Paul and you did so well on your own without Anthony. I must admit I would be very nervous going through that long tunnel. When my father had his boat I used to walk over the tunnels the way the horses went as they always made me nervous. Preston Brook tunnel was the worst as it bent in the middle and you couldn't see the light at the end of the tunnel. The scenery was absolutely glorious. Well done Paul and thanks again for sharing your adventures. Very best wishes guys (and Captain Dexter).
He really did Louise. I hate tunnels too and know exactly what you mean re the Preston Brook tunnel grimace. Glad you enjoyed. Have a lovely weekend ❤️
What a lovely cruise! Great work by Paul - I am so happy that it all went well. I also prefer the quiet - we have so much noise in our world. In the old days, no doubt the canals would have been full of the clip-clop of horses hooves. Sometimes I think about how our surrounding noises have changed over humanity. Horses clops & squeaky cart wheels to ear-deafening motor engines, now sometimes going to silent electrics. The hub-bub of noise of the village chatter and blacksmiths pounding away to now a ghost town, with nothing. Good to see you, Anthony, walking the dog! How delightful to have a pub visit!
Thank you. Paul did a great job. Agree re the noisy world. Love the quiet cruising. The towns are like ghost towns in a lot of places. The convenience of internet buying has a lot to answer for. Pub visit was fab. Always a treat at the end of the week ❤
You did a great job Paul and i agree with other comments its so nice to hear nature, i love the last bit too when you were walking back in the dark, it looked so nice seeing the boats lit up xxx Lovelifetriumph 😘
He really did Wendy. Definitely prefer the natural sounds to the sounds of an engine. The night time walk back to the boat reminds us when we visited friends prior to us getting ours and walking back in the dark was the cosiest feeling. Hope you guys are ok. ❤️
Hey Carol. They really are a great addition. Can’t wait to get to a good, dark sky area to see the stars, although we have been treated to some fab sights already. Have a lovely Friday evening ❤
Another great Vlog and so nice to see you traveling with Pete and Caroline. I so enjoy being able to get a real feel for the “live aboard narrowboat community” when you all all interconnect. I follow their Vlog too so feel like I am visiting friends. You are traveling now through my old stomping grounds. When I lived in Milton Keynes, I frequently went to Braunston and Blisworth along that whole part of the Grand Union Canal on the towpath walking and even once a narrowboat day trip with my kids group when I was a Social Worker in Buckinghamshire. Loved the Pubs ! Enjoying seeing Morning Star 2 cruising the Cut so quietly ! Thanks for taking us along. I think we are Virtual Gongoozlers ! Greetings from Pennsylvania from Deirdre
Hey Deirdre. Glad you enjoyed. It is so lovely to travel with friends and there most definitely is a community spirit. You will be familiar with the travel path then. It is beautiful round there. The pubs have been brilliant. Especially the Folly at Napton. Probably my favourite pub. Hope you are having a lovely weekend ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 The Folly at Napton is certainly special and still a genuine English Pub. They always had great music. So many Pubs along the GU I enjoyed and still do have become Touristy in the summer. Have a great weekend too. We are all glued to the Wimbledon final. Thank- you for sharing your adventures.🥰
Some of the canal side properties are beautiful Andy. I wouldn’t swap it for the boat though. One thing we noticed quite early on was that we see these beautiful places but not the people because they are working trying to pay for them. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
The perfect English summer day. It was like cruising through a painting. Blossoms, birdsong, trees and water. What could be better. Ahh so relaxing. It’s amazing I can hear all the sounds of the surrounding countryside since there is no noise! Even your phone “ding” with a notification 🤣. Simply amazing vlog quality. And to se Dexter running like a pup at the beginning ❤️❤️
I am sorry I missed it Dawn. It looked beautiful and I love that we can hear the lapping of water and the birds now. The bit with Dexter melted my heart bless him. Have a lovely weekend and love to the family too ❤
As expected, you have soon mastered your new boat. As for the higher tiller, could you get another drop handle bar tiller for Anthony? It would be more comfortable on his arms.
Hey Harry. There isn’t much difference in the two boat. When we initially saw this boat it looked huge in comparison to MS1. It does sound like a drop tiller may be a good solution. Hope you are keeping well. ❤
Hi in answer to your question do I miss the engine sound....definitely NOT. Those old engines sound like they are all knocking and then youve got the exhaust fumes head height right in front of you! Mad!! Love Dexter. Thanks.
Hi Paul, Anthony and Dexter-Dog, loving seeing Dexter running and playing on the Towpath at the start of the Vlog. The boat sounds nice just hearing the ripple of the water as you move along, not missing the engine noise. I'm like you Paul, I would not like the thought of doing a long tunnel on my own, however you did a great job navigating thru the tunnel. I like the way you keep a good safe distance behind the boat in front of you (on this Vlog). Was that a deliberate piece of canalmanship? Paul, Interesting seeing you going up and down the lock ladder, and when stepping off the said lock ladder onto the roof of the boat, noticing there is not a great space between the Skylight(s) frame and the edge of the boat roof. Was it as tricky as it looked walking past the Skylights. We missed Anthony today, "Hello Anthony". What a beautiful cruise you had Paul. Dexter looked so cute at the end of the Vlog, when he looked Zonked out. So cute. Take Care. (Spoolbox).
Hey Spoolbox. I love it when Dexter acts like a pup bless him. Definitely love the fact we can only hear water and nature around us. I am not that keen on tunnels either and Paul did well. Definitely deliberate to keep a safe distance behind the boat in front. It can be intimidating getting too close. There isn’t much room with the skylights, glad I wasn’t solo boating. Hey to you too. Missed this one. Bless Dexter, he knows when he has had enough. Have a great weekend and take care ❤
The new boat is lovely I keep telling other Canadians about you beautiful electric boat. It's still so strange, to me, to see the sky reflected on the roof. I guess you've gotten used to it by now.
Hey Ragnar. Glad you like here. We feel very lucky. We never gave it a thought re the reflections on the roof, but I think they looks cool. Hope you have a good weekend. ❤️
13:24 The reflections are fantastic. Even better here with a bit more light (& without the echo of the other diesel!) Fantastic cruise. I think i might start to resent all those noisy smelly old diesels disturbing the tranquility!
We never considered how lovely the reflections in the skylights would be but we do enjoy seeing them. Love the silent cruising too. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
This watch reminded me of 2022 when I came from Crick with my new boat & I panicked because we met another boat coming through the tunnel, so my helper Darren (from the narrowboat company) took over with no issues. Gosh I was so excited. Now I'm enjoying my new life it's Ace X🐰x
It’s nice to hear the water and birds instead of the engine . It’s so green now, same here, after a very dry spring we’ve had lots of sun and rain and everything is growing like crazy. You had a beautiful cruise🙋🏼♀️
Hey Dawn. I definitely don’t miss the engine sound either. Love hearing the sounds of nature around us. Love when everything has a growth spurt due to weather. Hope toy are keeping well ❤
He gets like that sometimes bless him. Amazing to hear the birds more clearly Leanna. Hope the humidity isn’t too bad for you at this time of year. Have a lovely weekend. ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 It's record heat here for a few months. Water temperatures in the 90sF making national news. Got peppers and cucumbers growing in my garden. Planning more vegetables in a few months.
Some of the scenes on the canal reminded me of the safari boat rides at Disneyland, and I was expecting a hippopotamus to pop his head of the water. A visit to the pub by the canal in the evening - what a great way to end the day!
😂. Absolutely Noel. It sometimes feels more tropical in some regions of the canals. Always good to have a good pub at the end of a busy day. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Love the video, especially with the real sound effects provided by nature. Would like to miss the sound of our engine at times. Looks like we missed crossing paths by a couple of days at Norton junction.
It's amazing how quiet the boat is that you can hear the birds so clearly. Dexter sure seems like he's enjoying his new "ride." That tunnel, I am so claustrophobic I would have had to close my eyes and sit on those steps with Dexter. You did a great job navigating!! Another exciting video with all the wonderful sounds of nature. Do I miss the sound of the engine...NOPE, not at all, I love the birds. Nice to travel along with others, you're never really alone then. :) Safe travels till the next time. 🥰
It is fab to hear all the surrounding nature Ali. Dexter definitely prefers the quiet cruising. I am not keen on tunnels either. Definitely don’t miss the sounds of the engine. Thanks for coming along with us. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Beautiful quiet cruise just love hearing the birds singing and the sound of the water lapping against the boat. We missed Anthony just love the banter when you are both on the boat cruising. Dexter seems to be very content. Have a good weekend take care ❤
Just loved this vlog! The birdsong was amazing and the pace so relaxing to watch - maybe not so relaxing for Paul! Shots of the evening walk after you had moored up at the end really conveyed a sense of life on a boat. Thank you 🥰🙏🏻❤️
Glad you enjoyed Cherry. It definitely makes cruising even more pleasurable just hearing the birds and water. The different places we end up in is the best part. Have a great weekend❤
Hey guys absolutely love the videos! I was wondering if it’d be possible for you to upload in a higher quality? Like 4K 60fps or maybe 1080p 60fps. Your cinematography is amazing and the scenery on your travels is so nice would be lovely to see it in sharper quality! Keep up the great work and looking forward to the next video already! ❤️
So lovely seeing Dexter running around. . . he is certainly enjoying his new home . Great cruise Paul and very well done in navigating the tunnel on your own. I think I would be bricking it in case I scratched the beautiful paintwork . Stunning area and you had good company. Have a lovely weekend guys.
Evening guys, Dexter looking fit and healthy. Nice scenery along the canal and wild life. And good manoeuvre through the tunnel Paul. Fancy not having a horn on. No doubt a bad connection. Pity Anthony was working. Take care and have a good weekend. Back home again and feel not been away! X
Hey Bill. Hope you are both good. Dexter is doing ok bless him. Paul did well in the tunnel. The horn turns out to be because it is wired with the stern lights 🙄. I was gutted I was working. Have a fab weekend. Hope you enjoyed your break. ❤
Amazing scenery and great to see Dexter behaving like a puppy! I would never have thought that Leicestershire could look so beautiful. The tunnel is fascinating, such amazing engineering. I don’t think I miss the engine sound because nature takes its place but in a way it was quite mindful. Thanks for the vlog. Have a great week guys.
Thanks Alan. Was a bit gutted I missed this cruise. It really is amazing how some cities that aren’t known for their beauty have hidden treasures along the canals. I definitely don’t miss the engine sound either, although still feels a little weird. Melts my heart when Dexter has his moments. He is such a sweet boy. Have a lovely weekend. ❤
Thank you for a great video again. There sure is a big difference with the sound on the videos as the engine of the boat is so much quieter, one can actually hear the sounds of the birds and others around the boat which we could not hear so clearly before. Dexter is looking really good too.
Thanks Bruce. It is amazing how much we have obviously missed now the engine sound has gone. Even the water behind the prop is so pronounced. Dexter does so well, bless him. Can’t believe he is nearly 16! Have a lovely evening ❤
Dexter did look in his element, it's so nice to see how well he has taken to your and his new home and yes Paul, I think I would be as nervous as you looked going through the tunnel with that beautiful boat. Another lovely vlog from you three. Thanks
He loves the silent cruising bless him. Can’t believe after all this time he has stopped shaking. I hate tunnels, especially when there is 2 way traffic. Glad toy enjoyed the cruise. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Must be a bit tough for you both sometimes. One working away and missing home and the other coping with the locks and being alone. Still, the compensations of a summer evening and a trip to the pub like that is so nice.
It can be tough. It feels worse because we are so far away from our places of work so I always have to travel the day before so it does cut into our time together. This will change when we are back up North. It is lovely as you said, having a drink together in a local pub. Have a good weekend. ❤
Love hearing the nature sounds and the swirling and bubbling of the water as you cruise. Tell Paul he did great thru the tunnel! Keep well and continue to cruise ❤
Lovely cruise today and loved watching Dexter running around like an excited puppy. Can’t get over how beautiful your new boat looks inside and out. You both deserve it enjoy the weekend boys xxx
Glad you enjoyed. It is one of the things we were most looking forward to was to hear the surrounding nature more clearly. Hope you have a lovely evening❤
Dexter does look excited. There is plenty of lovely scenery. Nice seeing all the trees in full coverage. At least you got a good mooring and with good access to a pub.
Thanks Mel. Paul wasn’t sure about the colour at first but I love how she blends in. The skylight reflections was not something we even considered, but love seeing them. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
Beautiful trip today although it looked a bit hot. Excellent job navigating the tunnel Paul and it was fun to spend the day with you although I did miss our Anthony. 😢
Work is pants at the moment and watching your lovely vlogs is definitely a highlight at the end of a trying week. Lovely to see Dexter running around like a puppy ☺️ And only a cameo from Anthony this week?!? Have a wonderful weekend 🥰
Sorry work isn’t great Lesley. I definitely have times like this too. I love when Dexter has a spurt of energy. Melts my heart. Hope you have a good weekend and work improves. ❤
Loved seeing Dexter happily running and further along keeping cool sleeping. Have been to Braunston numerous times but not through the locks or the tunnel --but we are doing in October., and Ive helped a few through the locks. Love the Braunston area, seems to be busy any time of year, nice walks along the canal path, the village and the Gongoozler boat cafe. So it was lovely to see on your vlog. Its nice to hear the birds songs. You had a good cruise by yourself Paul, following Pete, but missed you, Anthony, and your chatters together. Nice summer vlog thank you xxx
Love it too Susan when Dexter has puppy moments. Braunston was beautiful. Shame we didn’t have more time to explore. The Admiral Nelson was good though. The Gongoozler’s Rest was a fab pit stop too. Missed being their this time. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
Happy Friday! Hope you are having a lovely evening. ❤ Loved, loved, loved the bouncy sweet Dexter at the beginning of the vlog. I don't like the tunnels anyway but being worried about scraping the boat would make it even worse. 🥺 I'm sure neither of you wants to be the inevitable first and, of course, it is inevitable. I can see where the quiet might take some getting used to after the sound of an engine for so long, but I love the quiet! I'm so glad Dexter is happier because it is quieter as well. ❤Take care and have a wonderful weekend! 💚
Happy Friday to you too Dorothy. Paul is away for work until tomorrow but I am having dinner with Pete and Caroline tonight ❤. Dexter definitely has his moments. I am not overly keen on tunnels either. I guess the first scratch is always the worst, but, like you said, it is bound to happen. Definitely feels weird not to hear the engine but I prefer it too. Dexter definitely prefers the lack of vibration from the engine. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 Glad you are still with your pals. Interesting that Dexter responds more to the vibration than the noise. Having both gone seems to make him happier. ❤
What a lovely vlog. How peaceful and the sound of the water and the birds was just magic. Also all the reflections on the roof. Can you walk on the glass if you have to? I saw Paul very carefully making his way along the edge of the boat. It certainly hasn’t taken Dexter long to settle in and hope it’s the same for you two. I don’t whether you had to shout over the engine before but you won’t have to now. You will be gliding past other boats so silently. Can’t wait for the next one. 🌻
Glad you enjoyed Marilyn. Love the extra sounds we can hear. The reflections in the skylights are lovely to watch. Dexter definitely prefers the lack of engine sound and vibration. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
Loved this. The views were stunning, and the reflections on the sky lights were amazing. Torchlit footpath at night was beautiful. Keep safe and well both if you, and Dexter too xx
Glad you enjoyed Catherine. Never thought about the reflections on the skylights when we got the boat but some beautiful views. Absolutely love a torch lit path back to the boat. Feels so romantic. Have a lovely weekend ❤
You’re definitely selling the ideal dream. Beautiful cruise and lifestyle however I’d be petrified at marking a new boat in the tunnel. I would have to bubble wrap it first lol. Best wishes guys ( and Dexter) ❤
We love it Trevor. Know it isn’t for everyone. You can’t be too precious about the boat, the first scratch is always the worse 😂. Still not a fan of tunnels though. Have a lovely evening ❤
Hi Paul, Anthony and Dexter what a brilliant video, so peaceful it’s a shame Anthony had to work but no doubt enjoyed watching video you did, have great week😊
He did really well Howard. It was Peter’s engine you could here. When we went through Crick tunnel we thought our generator had kicked in before we realised it was Pete. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
@@anthonysmith-storey9247 Yes I thought at one point it was your generator too. Windy here at Packet Boat Marina today. Hope yours is better wherever you are x
No ICE noise, no tacky royalty free ring tone music, just the sounds of nature! Visually and audio stimulating! Takes the channel to the next level for us viewers, still missing a trick with solar, battery and distance on these journeys! People looking to go electric will follow and be put of with no data to confirm the boat is viable or the way forward tech and environmentally wise! I’ll keep ranting about this until you block me or give us the Solar stats! Lol 😆 ❤
Glad you enjoyed. We are definitely going to do some stats at some point but want to have a balanced view. We don’t want to give the stats in the height of summer with no comparable winter stats as this would give purple a false impression. The stats are easy enough to come by though as we get a log. Not going to block you for having a rational opinion. Have a great weekend ❤
Dexter sure looks happy. So nice to hear all the birds. Nice job going through the tunnel. Do you just honk to make sure no one is coming through in the opposite direction? Lovely cruising with you today. The scenery was beautiful. No wonder you enjoy boating on the canals.
He is definitely more content Heidi. Think he prefers the quiet cruising. The tunnels sometimes are 2 way (which I hate), timed or yeah, for shorter ones, honk and go for it 😬. Thanks for coming along with us. Have a fab evening ❤
Im glad youns are enjoying the new boat. Pyouns look so smart .There are some beutiful places youns have already taken us.Remember are loved ones. They need prayers.God bless.
Ah, it was so much fun to see Dexter galloping about at the beginning! So are you guys purposely traveling with Pete & Caroline or just coincidentally going in the same direction? That's nice to have friends to travel with and help with the locks. It is amazing how much more one hears in the background without the sound of a diesel engine! I wonder if Dexter likes it better too? Less noise, and maybe less vibration might make it more pleasant? Hope so! Wondering how you guys feel about having that seat near the tiller. Can you sit and steer? Wonder how much leeway with the tiller if you're both there on the seat? Anyway, lovely video and glad to see you guys enjoying your new boat!
Hey Debba. Love when Dexter has a puppy moment too. We discussed our plans after Crick and Pete and Caroline were thinking of Stratford too, so we decided to travel together. We are unsure of our plans after that but we are likely to part ways 😞. Dexter definitely prefers the quiet cruising. I do think it is more to do with the vibrations of the deck board. Paul can steer when sat down as he can still see the front of the boat, I would struggle. Glad you enjoyed the vlog. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Hi, gentlemen! Great cruise! I love the tunnels, and Paul, I don't miss the sound of an engine. Couldn't help but notice the birds singing and chirping. You missed a good one, Anthony! 💚💚💚
Hey Guys, a few things came to mind watching this.... Do I miss the engine noise? Yeah, kind of but I also enjoy the sounds of the canal. If a lot of people really miss it, I'd bet you could find an app for your phone that would play engine noises over a speaker... lol... As far as the tiller being higher which is comfortable for Paul but not so much for Anthony. I would think you could get another tiller extension (not sure if that's what they are called but the part you take off and on of the tiller) that is off set so it would drop to a comfortable height for Anthony. Lastly, something I have learned that applies to the worries of the day like scratching the boat, going through a tunnel solo,.... and that is - We suffer more in our imaginations than we do in reality. Thanks guys and take care.
Hey Roger. I am with you re the engine noise, miss it but much prefer the sound of nature. I think a small step may help with the higher tiller. Although it isn’t that much of an issue. Absolutely agree that we conjure up more demons in our mind than the reality of a situation. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤
We were too Sheryl. Turns out it has been wired with the stern lights 🙄. We have asked Liam to sort when he next comes to the boat. Hope you have a good evening ❤
Hi Anthony and Paul. That was a calm and quiet cruise on such a hot day. Glad Paul didn’t meet any boats in the tunnel. Doesn’t sound as if there’s much passing room. That pub walk in the dark looked lovely lit up. Take care. Nick
Hey Nick. Paul did well with the boat. Hate it when you meet an oncoming boat in a tunnel grimace. The pub walk was stunning. Makes the return to the boat seem all cosy. Hope you have a good weekend ❤
Good morning to all. Dexter was so full of life bounding around like a pup bless him! Just amazing the beauty of the bird song along the way this week. We just can't appreciate how much all viewer have missed but now can hear with such a quiet cruising boat. We think some don't really take the time to slow and enjoy their surroundings as you guys are able to bring your viewers during your travels. We still are enjoying the simply stunning color or Morning Star ll. We all hope you are going to enjoy a relaxing weekend. Stay safe and healthy. Sending XX ❤🧡💛💚💙💜 From the Florida crew. John, Dean, Johann and Greta
Morning guys. Dexter did have a puppy like spring in his step, bless him. It is amazing how much of nature the engine masked. We are all guilty of not slowing and appreciate the things around us. This lifestyle definitely makes us take note. Glad you enjoyed the vlog. Hope you are both keeping well. Love to you all and belly rubs for Greta and Johann. ❤️ 💜 😊
My 14 yo had her moments as well. I guess I treasure them more knowing they are not as frequent, and unfortunately will end sooner rather than later. I also have a huge soft spot for older dogs!
Thanks Ian. Glad you like her. It takes some getting used to but prefer the sound of nature to the engine noise. Hope you have a good week and good luck with the PHEV. I nearly got a Mitsubishi some years back ❤
We are absolutely blown away by your narrowboat. It’s like a boutique hotel ( sorry we haven’t commented recently we are away in europe again for three months and. Internet can be patchy 😊)☮️
Yes its really noticeable how the mic on the camera is not swamped by the sound of the engine we have been on Professor Pat Pending and its like drifting down the canal. Are you both enjoying the lack of engine noise when
Well done Paul, see worry for nothing. Anthony you need to take up a craft to sell so you can retire, Paul going to all these lovely spots and you’re not there. You’re a good cook, sell your cooking, I reckon that’s got to be a money maker on boats as so often, after boating all day you’d not want to cook. I said that last week Paul about the lack of sound of the engine, Anthony made the point of hearing nature better and it’s a good point. Thanks for the beautiful trip, have a nice week. Kiss fir Dex. Oh 25 is a brilliant temp Paul, remember the worse ones. 💕
He did really well Pauline. The thought is often worse than the reality. I definitely do need to retire. 😊. I used to do loads of crafty things too. Absolutely think the sound of nature beats the engine sound. Hope you have a lovely weekend . Take care ❤
Hey Logan. They do seem loud after being on ours. Even the echoes in the tunnel of other engines are very audible. Makes cruising more pleasant just hearing the surrounding nature. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Hi guys . It does sound weird with no diesel ⛽ engine.. but it's better I think... Oh and is the new vessel faster than the old one.. thanks for all you guys do sharing your travels with us all .. 🎉
It is strange Marcy but we love we can here the nature more clearly. Never really opened the throttle on this boat but it does seem quite powerful. Looking forward to seeing how she copes on a river. Thanks for following. Have a lovely weekend. ❤

I loved the birdsong and the whole trip!! Thank you!!
Thank you Laya. We love hearing nature in clarity. Have a lovely weekend ❤
I think that was my favourite cruise you have taken me on, just wonderful! And to see Dexter loving life warms my heart. Love that guy! :)
Glad you enjoyed Mike. I definitely love it when Dexter has a puppy moment. Hope you have a good weekend ❤

I love your boat and I love Dexter. Thank you and cheers.
Thank you. Dexter is definitely a very special boy. Have a good weekend ❤
The quiet us wonderful. The new Morning Star is a lovely boat. Great use of technology throughout.
Thanks Marjorie. We love how quiet she is. I do think this is the future of narrowboating. Have a good weekend ❤
Great vlog as always. Just love the reflections on the roof great scenery. Don’t blame Dexter staying in bless him take care
Glad you enjoyed Caroline. Sorry I missed this cruise, it looked lovely. The skylights make for an interesting canvas when we cruise, something we never thought about. Dexter much prefers indoors in tunnels bless him. Have a lovely weekend ❤
OMG! I just love Dexter with the zooming 😅
He does have his moments Leann, bless him. Have a lovely weekend ❤
Love the sound of Aslan's engine....It 'chugs'. All the best Tricia and Neil......
I still like to hear the old engines, but from a cruising point of view, for us, nothing beats the sound of nature ❤. Have a lovely weekend both x
So much more sound rich without the engine. You can have a walking soundscapes whilst boating along the canal - V cool!
Definitely love that we can hear nature more amplified. Glad you like her. Have a good week ❤️
Wow, I am amaze of this stillness of your cruise. Your engines are so quite, the wildlife sounds of the canal come alive .
Thank you. This is everything we were hoping the electric propulsion would be. Have a lovely week ❤
Can you ask Pete to keep the noise down please? All we can hear from your beautiful, silent boat is Pete's engine making a racket :)
😂. Not sure how that will go down Steve 😊. Do love the silent cruising though. Have a lovely weekend ❤
I’m loving the beautiful reflections of the sky on your sunroof. You must be spending a lot of time stargazing these nights!
The garden at 4:02 is gorgeous. Imagine having a home on the canal like that.
Thanks.
Glad to hear it Ken. We love we can here the surrounding nature so clearly. Have a fab weekend ❤
I love how you can just hear the birds, the water and engine so relaxing x
Us too Michele. Absolutely the best bit of the new boat. Have a lovely weekend to you and Simon ❤

Hi guys, a lovely cruise through stunning scenery. Amazingly quiet! Great boat handling through the tunnel, Paul. Bryan & Donna
Glad you enjoyed guys. Paul did well. Have a lovely weekend both of you ❤
Hi Paul, Anthony and Dexter-Dog, loving seeing Dexter running and playing on the Towpath at the start of the Vlog.
13:24
The reflections are fantastic. Even better here with a bit more light (& without the echo of the other diesel!)
Fantastic cruise.
It is scary at first Julie. Glad you got used to it and loving the lifestyle. It really is very special. Have a good weekend ❤
Fabulous Vlog. Lovely to see you loving your new boat! Love to you three from us three ❤

It’s nice to hear the water and birds instead of the engine . It’s so green now, same here, after a very dry spring we’ve had lots of sun and rain and everything is growing like crazy. You had a beautiful cruise🙋🏼♀️

Awww, Dexter looks so giddy! I love cow birdsongs. So unique. I don't have those in Florida.

Thank you. Definitely prefer the sound of nature. Shame we missed you 😞. Hope you have a lovely weekend ❤

Loved seeing Dexter happily running and further along keeping cool sleeping. Have been to Braunston numerous times but not through the locks or the tunnel --but we are doing in October., and Ive helped a few through the locks. I don't like the tunnels anyway but being worried about scraping the boat would make it even worse. 🥺 I'm sure neither of you wants to be the inevitable first and, of course, it is inevitable.

Hey Julia. I did miss a good cruise. Paul did well though and to see Dexter acting like a pup ❤ . Hope you have a good weekend ❤
You took that long tunnel with ease. Well done.
Best wishes to you both x Steve
He did well Steve.
Hope you have a good weekend ❤
I am confused why your horn doesn't work. Hope you are having lots of fun exploring on the new boat! Enjoy!
Dexter running! Just lovely.
He Definitely has his moments Susan ❤️
My 14 yo had her moments as well. I guess I treasure them more knowing they are not as frequent, and unfortunately will end sooner rather than later. I also have a huge soft spot for older dogs!
@@susanb4481 ❤️ me too.
New boat looks awesome but YEH miss the sound of the engine . I’ve just been given a Phev transit for work and miss the beat of the diesel engine 😁
Thank you Crichie, we really love the boat interior. Hope you had a great time in Europe 👍
Yes its really noticeable how the mic on the camera is not swamped by the sound of the engine we have been on Professor Pat Pending and its like drifting down the canal. Are you both enjoying the lack of engine noise when
It takes some getting used to but yeah, definitely good not having the engine noise. Aww, Helen and Russel are lovely. ❤
Take care ❤
I like the look of pete and Caroline's boat aswell xx liz ❤❤❤
It’s amazing how loud other boat are after cruising around on yours! Do they seem loud to you too?
Thank you for sharing beautiful
Thanks for watching 👍
Thank you 😊
