- Alcohol ink fluid art. How to do lines and ripples
Did another little "one technique" video, this time on doing lines or waves or ripples or whatever you might call it.
This is such a fun technique and one of my absolute favorites. You can do so many things with this technique - different shapes, colors etc.
If you are new to ink I think this is a really good technique to learn. And a really good way to practice using your hairdryer in different ways.
In this video I used my Remington volume and curl hairdryer.
I hope you will enjoy this little video. I would love to hear what you think about it and if any of you had fun trying this.
Feel free to leave a comment or question if you have any and I will do my best to answer you.

Your teaching style is so easy to listen to/ watch. understand. No frills! Love this and TY!
Thank you so very much ❤️ I really appreciate it
thank you very much for this video and these explanations 🙏🏻 luckily there are people like you to be kind enough to explain how to do it .... unfortunately this is not the case for everyone ... this is a shame because we do not all want to trade in it but just have a hobby that allows us to find pleasure or to get away from our problems...
thank you for the time you take to do this and for your kindness 💗
You are very very welcome 🙏 I’m so glad you find it useful
@@randihart5731 💕
Never seen an artist AI who can explain the technique so good!!
👍💜🌷
Thanks so much for the compliment 🙏
I just purchased my first inks. I have been watching videos for at least the last couple hours. Yours is the first one that makes me want to get started exploring the techniques you share! Thank you so much for sharing! Now I want to order more inks and the proper papers.
So glad you liked it ❤️ I hope you have fun exploring
I'm a newbie and haven't seen anything like this technique...gorgeous! Can't wait to try it... thank you!
It is such a cool technique - hope you have fun trying
I'm so grateful for your videos! They are so clear and helpful! I like your calmness and how slowly and clearly explain the technique. 🙏🏻 The most of such videos are so sped up and frenetic and found myself doing this frenetic movements while all the IA scattere on the paper... haha 😀🤗💖
Thank you very much 🙏🙏 no there’s really no need to rush it.... I always take all the time I need ❤️
Ty! Please keep making these technique videos - super helpful for beginners and for refreshers!
I will definitely do that
please do more instruction vids like this - very useful.
I definitely will 😀

Thank you 😊 uhh I haven’t seen that… gonna take a look 👀
I just left a comment after watching part way thru. And UA-cam isn't letting me edit, so I'm leaving a 2nd one after watching all the way thru. Beautiful! Would never have thot o' doing that to create lines, or expanding the original to make larger, or adding different color(s). Very helpful demo & specific teaching comments. TY !!

Thank you for the wonderful tutorial on this process! I’ve tried and tried with no success, not I have hope😊
You are very welcome 🤗
Me too ! Most want you to pay to learn how to do anything. I have pretty much got the Roses, and I didn’t realise until I saw it it proper day light the brass was beautiful! You would think if I could manage a Roses I could do lines but nope….just lots of ink in one spot and little to no lines. So frustrating, but wow Randi you have given me hope too now ! I really appreciate you giving these little tutorials, it’s so very generous of you 💞💞💞
@@shaz8486 when making the lines it’s really all about getting the right amount of ink and alcohol. Mix some together, if the lines don’t appear the way you want them to, add either more ink or alcohol until you get clear lines 👍😊
Getting ready to start working with alcohol inks and really appreciate your guidance. Thank you!
You are very welcome 🙏

I do really like the flower you accidently had going on in the beginning too. I was trying to send you a picture of what I just did while I was watching your video but I can't figure it out
Thanks, hope you have fun with the ripples 😃

I am new to this medium and finding it real hard to control the ink. M definitely going to try this technique. One question though, i have a 1000W dryer. Is it too much of a power? Is it why i am finding it hard to get these rings? Also i live in an extremely humid climate. That too has an adverse effect, right?
Sorry too many questions! Hope they are answered!
Hi 👋 humidity and ink does not always work well together, sadly. Controlling the ink is really all about learning how you use your hairdryer. Mine is 1000 W too, but you can definitely make it work for you. At the end of this video ua-cam.com/video/QtVB5vXdu_Q/v-deo.html I try to demonstrate how to use the hairdryer- and how not to use it.
About the rings, if they don’t appear you need to add either more alcohol or ink to the mix. It’s different also depending on what color you use.
Hope it helps 😃
Can you please tell me the heat level of your dryer/gun? Mine seems to dry up almost instantaneously.
My dryer is on low heat. Maybe you just need to use a bit more alcohol 😊
Es hermoso su trabajo, quisiera poder entender todo. Si pudiera tener traducción al Español sería maravilloso.
Saludos desde la mitad del mundo, Guayaquil - Ecuador un país pequeño de América del Sur, pero lleno de mucho amor.
I’m sorry, I don’t speak Spanish 😢
You help me so much on my new journey with alcohol inks. I have a couple of questions if you have time: how would I add metallics into the lines? The header on your UA-cam page with the oranges and greens and browns do you remember what colors you used I’ve been looking for some natural earth tone colors that go well together and it s gorgeous! Many thanks 😊
Happy to help 🙏 I find that metallic works a bit better if you don’t mix ink and iso first. I put ink directly on the paper, metallic on top of the ink, iso around it and gently mix it together with hairdryer before making lines 👍
Header colors are sunset orange, sunshine yellow and moss😀 all Ranger
@@randihart5731 Thank you so much! I can’t wait to try the lines with the metallic and use those beautiful colors.
@@mararizona1 you’re very welcome 😊
