For that top down feel with turn based stuff and a fantastic story baldurs gate 3 has been great so far and will full release in august. Divinty 2 original sin is also a fantasy world with FANTASTIC combat. After i put my 400+ hours in xcom i found divinity and have played something like 300+ hours in it
Troubleshooter: Abandoned Children. Probably the best ever example of tactical turn based combat mechanics and user friendly UI in a pc game. A crying shame it is overlooked by so many reviewers. Thanks for showing it in this list.
Yeah and its absolutely crazy how many gameplay elements are packed in there. After 50 hours of gameplay they still add in new stuff like being able to tame and evolve monsters or building your own personal combat drone.
Thanks to this video I spent 84 hours playing Symphony of War. It was a good time, but I should have chosen a higher difficulty. My squads were annihilating everything by the end.
If anyone could help here, I am trying to remember the name of the game that was released a few years ago, maybe 2018 - 19, similar to Phoenix Point: Year One Edition, it featured a dystopian futuristic dark world where you were in command of 3 cyber commandos, trying to stop a nuclear missile launch. The game if I remember correctly was named something along the lines of Deception: 2223 (not the actual real name, I think the game title was a short name then a year in the future). Units would cloak when crouching, and the start of the game was night, fires and a unit regaining consciousness then having to go and reactivate the remaining units. I enjoyed the game tremendously, but cannot remember where I downloaded it from or the name, anyone knows what game I am talking about?
Good to see *Into* *the* *Breach* and *Othercide* in the list. *Disciples:* *Liberation* is just crap. Play *Disciples* *II:* *Rise* *of* *the* *Elves* , instead.
Disciples II: Rise of the Elves...its so slow tho,the computer turn takes soooo long... i tried fixing it in varies ways no success(love the art of it)
@@sirpente6651 😂😂😂 the computer has turns that take up to 30 seconds. I've installed that game over the years on various PC. Maybe that's ok with you I can't do it
Great list i love it, there are plenty of games i have played that are amazing and some ones i need to check out. I was going to comment on the first Part how you missed Endless Space 2, Endless Legend and Othercide. But happy to see them here, i think those games are some of the greats in this genre. Another great game that had a pretty bad launch is Humankind, its by the same devs of the Endless Games. It still has mixed reviews on Steam, but imo it has become better then any civ game.
The Fued: Wild West Tactics It's not incredible or anything but I never see anyone mention it and I think it's worth at least one playthrough. It's a Hatfields vs. McCoys game with each family having a different campaign. What I played was the other mode though. It's like a weird mix of 4x and XCom.
i love turn based RPG but i dislike it when the movements are limited to a tileset like chess or no movement at all like pokemon. that's why i prefer games like divinity original sin or baldur's gate 3. use of environment helps the immersion and makes room for more strategies rather than the one who has a higher number, wins.
Please watch part 1 and part 2 first :D

So glad to see othercide getting attention. Playing it rn and it's so good
I LOVE that you use Timestamps and list the games!
Glad you enjoy it!
I want xcom2 reworked in a D&D setting
Bro, that would be sick

Really enjoy lists like these.

None of those games even come close to Warhammer III. What an amazing game it is.
Mechanicus and fae tactics?
Thank you, troubleshooter. Probably one of the best tactic rpg.
Couldn't agree more!

@@kkllaauussss1983 I don't know what kind of computer you have. I never had such a problem with DII:RotE. Never in 20 years.

Does Darkest Dungeon count?

You are amazing bro 👌👌❤️
