    For the life of me I can't figure out why the premium wheels look fucking amazing on some STs like this one and like dog shit on others.
    You've Inspired me to attempt this install though. If you good old boys can do it this one can too

      Yea I like the premiums on the white car. You can definitely do the install. Reading online, it seems like it would be difficult, but it’s not too bad overall.

      Hey if you dont mind what wing riser kit do you have? I _really_ like your ST and think I'm just gonna shamelessly copy yours 😂

      The grey car from some of our other videos had the Velossatech wing risers. The white car has a set from Amazon. Both were great and can’t go wrong with either one. I believe the Amazon ones were half the price as the Velossatech

      Remember when I installed the HKS BOV on my focus ST thing sounded bad ass. Within a year later I blew the motor fix the car sold it then moved onto the next project.

    What would I have to buy to run this BOV with the stock turbo

    • @jonathanbutler7853
      @jonathanbutler7853  3 роки тому +1

      You could buy this cp-e exhale kit. I believe JBR makes a kit that you can use as well.

      @@jonathanbutler7853 so also when installing to a stock turbo. The hose that connects to the stock or as I have a boomba BOV. What do you do with that? Because I seen people run HKS to their sound symposer mostly.

    • @jonathanbutler7853
      @jonathanbutler7853  3 роки тому +1

      You will take the boomba bov out and block it off. The cpe kit gives you piping that hooks up to the outlet of the intercooler and goes to the throttle body. The cpe kit also gives you something called a map tap, which is on the intake manifold. That is where you will reference boost. You could keep your sound symposer by going this route.

  • @gofast8144
    @gofast8144 4 роки тому +1

    What did you do with the stock boost solenoid? Did you use the symposer block off plate for the boost line? Has it gotten annoying? What part number was your hks and manufacture date if you got that information from the box. Seen in forum where dude has ran through. 2 HKS in about 80k miles or something crazy

    • @jonathanbutler7853
      @jonathanbutler7853  4 роки тому +1

      I’ll have to check and see if the box is around. Haven’t seen any issues with the HKS. The stock valve was blocked off and the vacuum source was plugged. Cpe provides you with their map tap system that attaches a vacuum source in the manifold where the map sensor is. You could use the symposer location if you have the one with a fitting to attach a hose.

    is that one adjustable like the turbosmart bov that replaces the factory bypass valve (the one you blocked off)?
    It looks like you dont run the under-tray, which is there for a reason. I wonder if that exhale kit will be a problem damaging the under-tray...
    what exactly was it that caused the bov to pop off? was the snap-ring just not installed correctly? did it need a beefier one?

    • @jonathanbutler7853
      @jonathanbutler7853  Рік тому +1

      I believe the HKS is self adjusting, so no need to do anything with it. On both of our ST’s, we ran the factory under tray. Kyle had the exhale with the HKS and I had the exhale with the tial. No issues with fitment. On the HKS, it is held in with a snap ring that can be tricky to install correctly. We originally installed with the tools that we had available and we thought we were good until we weren’t. We went to the parts store and bought the correct tool and got it to seat correctly and never had a problem with it.

    I honestly was not that impressed with my HKS. I'm still running it but unless I let off at the right time it doesn't have its distinct sound. it usually sounds like a fucking rattlesnake..

    • @jonathanbutler7853
      @jonathanbutler7853  Рік тому

      It is a sound that you either like or don’t like. It is the classic sound people think of. I, myself do not like it that well, but it is still pretty cool. I like the tial sound better, but then again the stock turbo doesn’t make enough pressure to make the tial sing.

    • @Medicbobs
      @Medicbobs Рік тому

      @@jonathanbutler7853 Yeah I really thought I was going to get that crisp sound on every release, but it's been kind of a rattlesnake type sound. It's not bad but just not optimal. is that the next best blow off sound you think?

    • @jonathanbutler7853
      @jonathanbutler7853  Рік тому

      @@Medicbobs the tial is a great choice, but the ports for the blowoff are massive, which is cool for moving air, but the ST’s small turbo doesn’t produce the pressure needed to get that loud sound. It is very quiet. When you put an intake on either the HKS or tial, it sounds a lot better, but it probably needs a big turbo to get the sound you are looking for
