I have a 2017 ST2 and was wondering if you tested it on both ends of the adjustments? I don't wan't it to make any sounds when pulling out of a parking spot, only when I go past 4K rpm. Would setting it to the hardest setting accomplish just that?
Dude. For real. Thankfully I'm still working. The other bonus is that there's nowhere to go to spend money so I just put it into my car lol. I got the BOV, CAI, OCC,and FMIC all on the same order. Imma be super busy on my days off. Next up is the Cobb accessport. Wish my bank account luck
cause my 1.6 ecoboost was yelling and had no boost we suspected that this valve maybe is ripped but we changed it and there is no change... but what was noticeable, was that oil was flowing out of this vacuum hose, the whole diaphragm was full of oil and there was a lot of oil on the turbo outlet side
I really need this upgrade on mine sounds amazing I’ve got a 67 plate same colour with the 19 inch alloys black everything is still stock I’m from the uk 🇬🇧 great video subbed 👍😁
I just got a an 14 focus st as well, putting roush intake and cat back exhaust, motor mount, throttle body spacer, and new coils plugs, anything else I should do .I don't wanna replace turbo or work inside motor, great video
The GFB DV adjustible sounds far better. It gives the epic flutter at low boost and BOV at high pressure where it's needed. No offense, but this one sounds like Darth Vader's suit keeps springing a leak.
Its a bitch of a job if you don't have the right tools, its so deep in there, I ended up getting the shortie dual port, its so good but draws attention by the cops
Not difficult at all, I’ve done some tough installs and this isn’t bad, just as easy to do on some jack stands, did mine and my brothers twice since he got the recirculation one instead of the one that cents to atmosphere which makes the cool sound Right tools and it’s like a 15 minute job
@@BenLovrien totally understand... That's why I don't have 1 yet 🤣😂🤣😂 Your ST is coming along really well... My warranty just ran out, so it's upgrade time for me know.
Why were you changing the Dump valve.?? Is it because you were having an error for the under-boost cause am getting that now not sure if it is… please advice
It looks like the 50/50, it has the adjustment on the vac port for harder/softer which is usually indicitive of the 50/50. Maybe an updated model changed that?
Do you need a tune for this? My buddies said to get a tune or be careful hitting high boost, because one of their buddies had an st blow because a bov. Not sure if they did something wrong? Have you hit High boost without a tune on this? Sorry for all the questions lol
Should always have tuning adjusted when mods are done. I waited until I had all the parts I wanted to upgrade, then installed them all at once and got a tune so it's all working optimally. Next I'm buying a bigger intercooler and new intercooler piping and a slightly bigger turbo. Once those parts go on it will be retuned and should be good. Hoping for around 350whp which should be easily achievable and that will be more than sufficient being that it's only fwd. If I ever do decide to make even more power I'll have to get am LSD so I can at least try to get the power down. The LSD may be a future mod regardless of going past 350whp or not. Will see how it goes. Going to wait until car needs a clutch so can do it all at once while it's apart. Great cars, just don't trust the COBB OTS maps. Pay the money for a custom tune by a reputable place once you buy the COBB Accessport
I drove down to Edge Autosport from Toronto Canada with a trunk full of parts, put them on when I got there, (Most I did myself, the exhaust and stuff easier on a hoist was thrown on by EAS before they tuned it. My brother just text me his results (same car and mods I'm doing) and EAS got him 367whp 404lb/ft TQ. All on a very safe/conservative tune. T Lots of room left on the table the tuner said but it will last essentially forever this way, which is what we were after as the cars are track toys for the both of us.
You do not need a tune for this mod on this car. If it was a waste gate on a big turbo car that would be a different story. But this just vents the air to atmosphere instead of recirculating it. No tune needed for that.
These are definitely a pain to install. I cannot get mine to blow off 😣 I have it connected directly to true vacuum (sound symposer delete) and still can't get it. Even after adjusting full hard (haha) to full soft... Nothing. Gotta take it off soon and inspect it.
@@BenLovrien how do I check if the solenoid is working? & no its definitely not screwed down too tight, I've went from hard to soft a turn at a time checking for "blow-off" every turn.
I know this comment is old but pay attention to how you installed it. That happened to me And I had to take it off and twist it around and install it another direction
I wouldn't put it on the lightest setting, but, we used our best judgement to feel out where we thought it wouldn't cause flutter and where spring pressure wouldn't be too light. Hope that helps🤙🏻
Personally I started in the middle. That way I had adjustment either way. Turned out the random/roughly middle setting I chose turned put to be perfect and didn't have to pull the wheel back off and mess with it any further.
My tuner installed this yesterday on my fusion 2.0 and he set the 'hardness' as far over as it can go. Is that a bad thing? I noticed when I floored it I kinda got a whoosh sound but it starts to hesitate at 5100rpm and when I went to overtake a vehicle it kinda jumped before accelerating. Should I turn it a little to the softer side??? Thanks in advance this has been a real headache
I’m all about wasting money. Lmao I haven’t cleaned it since I installed it lol that was like a year and a half ago. Might go with the upgraded intercooler piping with the hks bov in the future.
@@jessebudelman Definetly why then if you havent cleaned it 😂 Id also check spring pressure if yours has variable spring pressure or a way to adjust it.
I think a good mix in between is best but it depends on what you want. I have mine set a little harder than normal so it still opens but yeah it’s totally up to you. I’d stay away from a really soft setting though.
This video is what made me buy a turbosmart instead of a boomba for my 2017 ST1. Once you get it adjusted it's beautiful!
Yes it is!
