Thanks so much for this video. I may never do this exact same thing, but it opens the door to other uses for this machine.

There are several things you can do with this machine besides hem!

Thankd for this video. So, yesterday I attached two pockets with a coverstitch. It was quite fiddly. So I saw you video today and wished I had seen it before I did my pokets. But, unfo0rtunately you proved it is not an easy task. So what I did was to start in the middle of the bottom and sew around the corner to the top so I could lock it by pulling the threads to the back. I then started and the middle of the bottom again. I overlapped 2 or 3 stictches and stitched in the opposite direction to the top. When I turned it to the back side I could tie all the bottom stiches together and then dealt with the top. I decided to run the end throung the stitching on the back and use fray check for extra security. This is a phone pocket on the side of some shorts and I want it to keep my phone in place. I am not eager to do this again.

Well to be honest, I seldom do pockets. At the time of the video I was doing a couple and someone asked if it could be done with a Coverstitch machine. Me being me, took on the challenge. Some don’t like the look on the wrong side, they prefer the double single lines of stitching. I found we each find the easiest way we can get the look we want. Next time I have to do a pocket, I’ll try your way!!!!

Thanks Jeanette! I'm a 6-month-old coverstitch-newbie and I'm finding your videos helpful or simply affirming regarding how I've been proceeding with my machine.

The results look very nice, but finishing the coverstitch is already such a time-consuming process on the 2340CV and now you have to do it three times.

Why do you pull so much thread toward you when you tie off? You don't need to pull so much thread out to have the length you need on the back to tie the threads off.

    • @jeanetteweger5518

It's a "to each it's own" preference on how much thread to pull out. I never mention how much to pull out. If you prefer shorter tails that's fine. I do production sewing so I buy thread in bulk, I'm not stingy with thread, it's inexpensive but some seamstresses are conservative with their threads and won't/don't pull as much out. Hope this answers your question!!!
