Yondu's sacrifice was so much more impactful than it really should have been, it cut down to the core. A parent giving their life for their child...it hurt.
Chris Pratt's screaming also sold the pain and sadness.

That moment when the boss returns after being killed for the 100th time.
But really, that is super badass. Ego walking slowly forward as he reforms himself is possibly one of the best shots in the film, maybe in the whole MCU. Not the best, but up there. It is so intimidating to see what is essentially an unstoppable force walking forward, showing how he can't be put down no matter how hard you try, he just keeps coming back. Well, his avatar body, but his core can be destroyed, other than that, he just won't die.
I just realized how similar of a relationship Star-Lord has with Ego compared with Invincible and Omni-Man

Thing that has forever bothered me about the realisation that Quill is 'Half Celestial' stems from one line of dialogue, from Ego. Where he states, that the power of one celestial isn't enough for his Expansion plan, but two? Please note the word two, as in, more than one. So, if Ego is the source of all of the power, he wouldn't need Peter at all. Ergo Peter MUST have some form of his own *light*, his own latent power. He ain't much use as a battery without any power is he?
He has latent abilities, though to use them to full extent he has to be on ego planet. I suggest dont look into it too much, they usually dont go into depth how the powers work
Maybe it's another sort of chain reaction, where Ego gives Quill a power boost, and from there, Quill can give him a power boost? Not sure, just thinking logical
I think the idea is that the planet core's light ISN'T Ego, but instead the source of his power that he can draw upon to create things. Quill, sharing the Celestial DNA, can draw upon the same light as long as he's on the planet. By destroying the light, he loses his power and reverts to human, as that's in his DNA. Ego is destroyed because he's intrinsically connected to the light, and while Quill is too, when the light is gone, he falls back to human.
More like quill is another outlet he can draw power from

I thought the same. I would of thought He would of had some power. I was really hoping we would of had a scene in the Infintity War film where Peter could grab the Power Stone shortly to use it against Thanos. Could of made a REALLY great short 1 on 1 in Infinity War.
Thanos throws the moon down at Iron Man and kick Strange away. Star Lord re-awakens and goes after Thanos grabbing the power stone from Him and using it on Thanos. Unfortunately not much done but some simple burn marks, Star Lord cant hold the Power Stone very long and drops it, and black out. Thanos grabs the power stone back and throws Star Lord as far away as possible then engages with Doctor Strange and Iron Man in the original 1 to 1 fights.

3:44 was pretty funny in my opinion even if one of the saddest deaths in the movie was about to happen
they can make flying advanced ships that can do literally anything, they can make a mohawk that controls a homing arrow with just a wistle, they can make gauntlets capable of holding all infinity stones, like even a human (stark) did that, AND its adjustable, they can make time machines, but they cant defrost someone if they go into space with no equipment?
You know the effect of being in space without any protection isnt just about freezing your shit, theres other things happening in your body too

Quill can't generate cosmic energy, only manipulate it. Ego, however, as a full-blooded celestial, can both make and manipulate it.
Without a direct-line to his dad's energy store, Quill can't do shit. He's still a celestial, though.

He was truly the personification of an overinflated ego. I wish our boy had been a little more clever. He should have denied ego his love of his mother. Not ask him how he could do what he did. You don't give an overinflated ego the ability to make an excuse because they always will. You denounce their claims and destroy their calm and certainty. Semantics can be a powerful weapon. How and when things are said can be very important.
