Was expecting this to be a semi big channel with the quality of the vid, so did not except you guys to only have 378 subs. Glad to be 379. This has inspired me to try out honor mode with my friend group for sure🤩
If you ever have a glitch like this in honour mode again, you can always CTRL, ALT, DELETE. It says it's saving the game but it actually returns you to your last save. Pretty sure the reason they left this in was in case of game-breaking bugs like this.
(you can also use task manager to 'end task' -- i have only had to do this once or twice when dialogue glitched and no options appeared but it does work)
It was a good fight. I recently beat honor mode (before patch 6 increased the challenge) and I was constantly terrified of glitches like this. I really like this video, and hope you guys beat your next attempt.
I haven't even finished this video yet and i can already tell it's honestly very surprisingly well put together for the size of this channel; I was honestly surprised to see the size of this channel and the views of this video, lol. It has a lot of potential! Keep it up!
This video was honestly so good! Had a lot of laughs! I gasped at you guys handing shadow heart over 😂 everyone reaction was super funny too. Hope you guys grow big!
Yea glitches in Honour mode are fucking terrifying. My first attempt all the tiefling refugees completely wiped me at the damn celebration after I fucking saved them, and I still have no idea why they attacked me. And the next few runs ended to some incredibly bad luck rolls (and careless play) and some new boss mechanics I didn't expect (fucking Bernard with his retorts). The way I finally got through was by always planning several escapes and saves. Greater invis, dimension doors, gasseous form and death ward all saved my run in act 1 and 2. And also really thinking through my builds and buffs made me incredibly OP in act 3 so didn't even have a scare. And all in all it was probably the most rewarding completion of a video game I've ever had. The risk of losing the entire run amplifies every emotion exponentially, from complete panic to extreme elation. Such a cool mode that really pushes you to improve, and it makes it so damn fun to go back and now just destroy normal tactician while looking at my hard earned Golden dice!
I’m willing to bet you used tht cantrip friends on one of them. It gives you advantage on persuasion checks but after the ten turns where it wears off - they will turn hostile if you’re still in the area
@@hamishblair8853I was just going to comment this. I cast friends on the one dude to stop moping and to go drink with the boys... needless to say a solid waste of easily 6 hours to one interaction.
Using the spell, friends will make npcs hostile after it wears off which might have been the cause of all the npcs attacking you. It caused me to lose my run too but it was in act 1
Overall a great video, that your honor run ended in the 3rd Act is tough, I have had my first Honor run end on Orin the Red but managed to complete my second run yesterday. But to clarify the encounter where the Zhentarim and the Guild fight each other only happens after you encounter the Stonelord in the sewers and uncover the Zhentarim plot to betray the Guild and Nine Fingers.
I had that exact sane thing with the thieves guild in my last playthrough but luckily I wasn't in honour mode so I just reloaded after realising I wasn't wining the fight
Just gotta say your vid is well edited and put together. Engaging and fun watching. Sorry the glitch with the patch messed up your chances of finishing this run. You seriously deserve more subs.
Great video. I had two glitches like your second one happen in my honor mode run. The first was with the fake paladins of Tyr wanting to kill Karlach. I escaped during the fight after one party member was downed, they stayed around him spending infinite turns. I eventually managed to lure them away. The second time it happened in act 2, I just ctrl alt del and killed game process to reload an earlier save. I also got softlocked in the myconid colony. I mistakenly summoned the ogres there and had one character invisible. This caused the myconids to constantly enter and leave combat, spamming initiative rolls, blocking everything. Also killed process to savescum that one. The bugs that annoyed me most in honor mode were the ones blocking sidequests. In act one, the door leading to the zhentarim outpost broke, it became unclickable. Made it impossible for me to enter their lair. Also in act one, Mol didn't want to tell me about her wish for me to steal the idol of Sylvanus despite having helped her kids, making it impossible for me to get the great ring reward.
This is an amazing video, bg3 is saturated w a lot of guide videos and tier lists. This was one of the most enjoyable watches of a bg3 run and the commentary was perfect imo
I've had that glitch happen where the enemies refuse to finish off your characters, I had three downed in one area, one character left far outside of combat, and 4 enemies guarding them, I eventually made it by getting aggro with my last character, using dash to kite the enemies a long way around, and then climbing up a ladder and ressurrecting my party members, all the while the 4 enemies were approximately 1-2 turns behind my character. One of the most frustrating and also nervewracking moments I've had in a game in years.
What a Story ... It's a shame it ended that way 😢 On our Playthrough Halsin died too, getting shoved into the Chasm by Dror Ragzlin. But something weird happened: the game crashed within the hour, and when we restarted, Dror Ragzlin and the Goblins and even Halsin were still alive - because the game crashed and couldn't properly save we restartet from the last save we had. Halsin was alive and well and we wouldn't bring him into the battle. We discovered that killing the game with Task Manager would achieve the same thing - stopping the game from saving and being able to load the last save from there. I don't like doing this, I think it goes against the spirit of honor mode. But if a Glitch - or in your case, a double glitch - ruins the game? Honestly I think killing the game and reloading is justified. Also, one other thing: Me & my friend also have 50ish hours in the game and are still at act 1 xD we're playing it mostly blind, we haven't played the game through before. So we're chickens, carefully doing one step after another. We also hired 3 Hirelings, each a Cleric, who casts AID at highest lvl and also Warding Bond on each party member. That way we only take half damage, and the Camp Cleric takes the other half. Is it cheesy? Yes kind of. But it takes 5 minutes per Long Rest to prepare our characters that way, so it is an investment in time. Also we respecced a companion we're not using to do the same, so we actually get 4 characters to warding bond our main cast. It's probably not a strategy you want to do for UA-cam content since it makes the game so much easier and less of a challenge to win 😂
@@A11ie_Russo if gale dies, he becomes nuclear radiatio waste, killing others nearby. There are some camp NPCs that walk around and can stand inside the AOE, they die rather quickly and you cannot revive them with withers - so, i personally wouldn't recommend Gale.
fun fact, or not so fun depending on your view. I think in honor mode, if your entire party is not engaged in the combat, the enemies will intentionally not finish you off. Just had a slight conflict in the myconid colony trying to yonk the boots off a corpse leaving astarion to die after the deed was done and was gonna res him after. The enemies left him there downed (maybe in hopes your party will be forced to come and save him). its rough out here in honour mode.
This was an amazing video, what would make it a 10/10 would be cinematic angles recreating some of the walking segments or the fighting scenes, you had everything necessary to create a compelling story but the formulating and stringing each area together could have been assisted greatly by the visuals, not just of gameplay. Think those whole wipe "movies" for the game rust, or maybe DougDoug, or even the Tileman series. You are very promising and have earnt a sub, keep improving and making stuff like this you'll be at half a mill by the end of the year
If you do a skillcheck and use any advantage spell on them for the dice roll can cause them to be hostile. With my friends we beat honour mode a few times and doing challenge modes on it, these things almost constantly happens. If you win a skill check useing friends or any spell on a friendly target just go to camp and remove it
On tactician and above casting any charm is always considered a crime similar to how stealing works, so if you are in their vicinity when the charm wears off they will always aggro. The game doesn't explain this well but that is how it works. Generally speaking charm/friends are not worth it unless you are planning to fight them anyway and the speech check will just make the fight easier.
i beat BG3 on normal and made the most sane decision of trying my luck at honor mode. I'm now on my 5th attempt and the way you guys lost actually left me heart broken
Had same issue in the fact I had to wipe out the entire thief's guild on one of my playthroughs. I learned not to cast any fire or stuff that might damage any of the nine-finger people as they will become hostile, even if THEY walk through it AFTER the fight is over. Great video, sorry your honor mode was cut short. I've completed mine, but my second attempt has hit a snag since patch 6. I killed all the goblin bosses, but Halsin won't acknowledge it. I assume if I continue, I will not be able to lift the shadow curse because without his return, (property) all the triflings won't move on as there will not be a camp party...glitches in honor mode SUCK.
The way your run end is exatly why im not tempted of trying honor mode. I love BG3, but i know that he can be a little buggy sometimes. Nothing that cant be mend with a little reload, but in honor.. yep. Anyway, nice video! Liked and subscribed ^^
It's funny you mentioned it, I DID have both the Grove druids and Goblins team up against me for no reason. I managed to get through it but had to kill Wyll off and was locked out of the Grove.
shouldve reclassed and picked up the sanctuary spell from cleric, you nuke your allies with a speed potion on and then sanctuary yourself and run away again... I had to do that in my first honour playthrough. still impressive attempt
To solve the stuck in combat situation, you can respec your last character alive to pact of the chain warlock and send the invisible familiar to finish off your stuck characters from a safe place. Good try though!! Really enjoyed the video
and adding more to that, using an invisible familiar to start fights and get the surprised condition from enemies is REALLY useful in honour mode. You can get Shovel (quasit scroll) as permanent summon as a wizard if you don't have a pact of the chain warlock
Could be like me on my first Honor Mode run where my game crashed during the fight on top of the brain and corrupted the game save file making it unable to reload back at the main menu... And submitting a ticket to Larian is like wishing into a black hole.
My favorite way to kill the toll collector is to make my strongest character invisible and wait for them to go near the ledge and shove them off. And have my remaining 3 characters waiting down where they land and kill them
i was locked from gith creche inquisitor and blood of lathander. Also some of my weapon dissapeared. but i still managed to beat honor mode. Truly unique expirence
I had a few times when neutral NPCs attack me and probably it's because i cast "Friends" spell a little early. Probably you did the same. For that case i always have invisible potions. You need just drink it and run away and when you return they again will be nice, because enemy was temporarily hostile
Although glitches are often pretty annoying, they can lead to some clever solutions. In my run the entire camp aggro'd us due to some glitch. We tried knocking everyone out to end the combat, but that didn't work. Thankfully we had an invisibility potion that ended the combat.
Great video and unfortunate bug that obviously wasn't your fault... but I can't help but wonder if it could've been salvaged with like. Enter turn-based mode -> drink a haste potion -> end turn -> run close enough to kill downed party members -> dash away -> misty step out of combat range or drink an invisibility potion or something similar. Or use the haste spell and bloodlust elixir so you can kill your party and then dash twice.
There's probably something could've been done in the guild after those glitches. Namely respecing your last character for higher initiative, greater invis, darkness etc. But I understand how the fear of lossing a run can effect decision making. I lost my first honor mode attempt in a moment of panic as well. In hindsight, every was salvageable with a little more planing.
On my first round I had the same glitch. Used two hours to kill goblins one by one and then returning back to another zone to heal. And then when I finally got the two idiots up, my game crashed and my last save was when they got downed 2h ago. Yeah. Lost my motivation to continue that run xD It was act 1 anyway. By the way, I think the first time you come to the guild, the zents aren't automatically attacking them. They only start attacking when certain Jah*** and certain Min** talk to certain Roa* in certain sewer, then the Roa* will take some men to attack the guild.
You deserve much more attention! Only couple of hours ago I finished my Solo Honour, BUT with loads. I know, I know, but I have lost my patience in 15 try of first act. And maybe 8 from them are happened because of bugs. I wish you steadiness guys. Like, sub. FURTHER I write a list of bugs I found. If you think it is acceptable, you can read it. Here are some of them: 1. Many of the creatures start to hate you if you summon ogres. I summoned ogres next to Halsin. He multi-attacked me, even though I was standing behind him specifically for defense. 2. The plate floating in the depths of the Orb temple sometimes tells physics bye bye. And you just fall through it. For a solo game this was fatal. Also, if you're not in a solo game, you can get stuck in a perpetually stabilized state at the bottom. A short rest helps. Nothing else. Nothing at all. If you run out of them, make a Bard. He'll give you one. 3. And yes, I've also been attacked by a whole settlement for absolutely no reason. In the druid grove I was just chatting with merchants. Everyone freaked out. 4. Also be VERY careful with the new illithid sphere that speeds you up. It can just absorb all your speed once you accidentally perform behind it.
I feel like honour mode requires a lot more patience in clearing overworld content before tackling bosses than I typically have patience for, I've lost like 4 runs in a row to the owlbear cause I can't be patient enough to wait till level 4.
Yea, I lost one of my ho or runs to failing vlaakith dialog, that's pretty damn depressing too. I did however try again and succeeded in beating the game after that
In comment will be spoilers for act 2. So, now I'm trying my first honour mode run after completing game in medium difficulty few months ago. Completed perfectly act 1 and already began to think "well, it's not that hard, isn't it?". In the 2 act couldn't save Isobel when there was attack on last light inn, and I even didn't know that there is an option for last light inn to be destroyed with all npc's being there. Halsin also died (or been lost) in portal when he tried to find Thaniel. I was so surprised how fast this run had gone wrong. But its kind of interesting situation and experience.
I got softlocked while fighting Arron because in Patch 6 there was a bug that made killing traders lock the game up and eventually crash. Some traders didn't crash, Arron was GUARANTEED to crash every single time he went down in a fight. Doing it on evil, we had no choice, and the game softlocked us until they fixed the bug (after we had already restarted)
Yeah. My honour mode game is done because Astarion is stuck in the jungle after getting teleported by the djinni and getting killed but making his saves.
That's the reason why I'm so iffy on those perma-death game modes. The games they're in have to be *very well done* to not break something. And sadly that is not BG3 yet.
Elixirs of Bloodlust hardly ever get mentioned. I usually play a Monk with Bloodlust and a Potion of speed. you can just punch things over and over and over and over and over until they die. I killed the Bulette in one go with just my monk lol.

I had a few times when neutral NPCs attack me and probably it's because i cast "Friends" spell a little early. Probably you did the same. For that case i always have invisible potions. You need just drink it and run away and when you return they again will be nice, because enemy was temporarily hostile
1:25 crippling addiction buddies!
Just wondering, in your conversation before the big glitch in the thieves guild, were you using the spell friends by any chance?
That last shot was gangster though😂
On my first round I had the same glitch. Used two hours to kill goblins one by one and then returning back to another zone to heal. And then when I finally got the two idiots up, my game crashed and my last save was when they got downed 2h ago.
Yeah. Lost my motivation to continue that run xD
It was act 1 anyway.
Here are some of them:
Great video next time you could even double the time like talking more detailed about your adventure I won’t mind 👍
I feel like honour mode requires a lot more patience in clearing overworld content before tackling bosses than I typically have patience for, I've lost like 4 runs in a row to the owlbear cause I can't be patient enough to wait till level 4.
Damn, that ending was brutal
That is sad at the end, 44 hours is a lot! Sadly I experienced the same, died to orin at 88 hours in!
Great vid man
At least your story has a very important lesson: never ever have business with gangs!
Solid Video man. well done.
Ah, Honor mode... The true dnd experience.
When the DM doesn't let you get away with TPK.
Yea, I lost one of my ho or runs to failing vlaakith dialog, that's pretty damn depressing too. I did however try again and succeeded in beating the game after that
good luck i was so sad for you at the end xD, i did first attempt and steam tell me that only 0.7% of the player did it :o so not that easy i guess
I mean you can ungroup position everyone then just use one character to talk to the inquisitor….
Yes, I do this every time.
tips: at the start try to use a shadowheart spell to make the commander zhalk drop his flaming sword , it helps a lot from act 1 -start of act 3
Or just take Voss' sword >:) Get one of the few legendary weapons right at the start of the game lol
I wonder if long resting with the characters at camp might have stopped the Guild from being enemies (as they were marked temporarily hostile)
Honor mode is giving me too much stress on my life. I play like 30 minutes and need to take a break.
Dang I dont subscribe but you deserve one. Not even 1k? No wat
Task manager let's you load from the last hard-save
I got softlocked while fighting Arron because in Patch 6 there was a bug that made killing traders lock the game up and eventually crash. Some traders didn't crash, Arron was GUARANTEED to crash every single time he went down in a fight.
Doing it on evil, we had no choice, and the game softlocked us until they fixed the bug (after we had already restarted)
my run ended on the shar temple the elevator glitched and all companions on it fell into the depths
The silence.
Me every time I die in honor mode. 4:17
You said 'every time'... Oh my 🥲
Elixirs of Bloodlust hardly ever get mentioned. I usually play a Monk with Bloodlust and a Potion of speed. you can just punch things over and over and over and over and over until they die. I killed the Bulette in one go with just my monk lol.
