@@Doppel95 Yes, indeed. I'm working on a shorter video, first, that should be done soon. And then Act 3 will come next. Will take a bit to make, I'm sure (but not as long as Act 2 did . .)
@@SlimXG Nice! You have my sub :D Looking forward to it. Do you really think it'll be less work? Aren't there way more fights that are harder (like Raphael, Ansur, etc.)?
Well, Act 1 had mostly stuff I'd just picked up here and there up until that point, without a lot of personal ideas and testing. For this Act 2 video, it was the other way around, where I tried to come up with new ideas as much as I could (with some tried-and-true tips, too, of course).
@@SlimXG Re: new ideas, you have made me a believer when it comes to Silence; I didn't even look twice at this spell before, and now I use it ALL THE TIME.
@@xhy720 Hahah nice. It has a surprising number of uses in and out of combat. For example, in the goblin camp, there are some goblins sleeping near the breakable wall that leads into the Shattered Sanctum. If you bust down the wall, they'll wake up. But if you cast Silence on them first, they can't hear it and will stay asleep.
My wife and I are going to start a multiplayer honor mode run and we were just saying earlier today how much we hoped that you would continue this series. Seriously, your previous two videos were some of the only "bg3 secrets" videos that contained any actually useful secrets as opposed to just stuff copy/pasted from the bg3 wiki. Thanks so much for all the time and effort you put into these!
Thank you very much! Yeah, I spent a long time just digging into the game and testing tons of ideas for this one. I figure the farther into an honor run, I'm covering, the more important it is that I test everything very thoroughly before asking people to trust that my tricks will work consistently. I'm probably crazy for spending so much time on one video like this, but I'm glad you appreciate it hahah.
@@SlimXG Just an update, my wife and I BREEZED through Act 2 thanks to this video! Thank you so much again for all the research and testing you did, I've literally never had an easier time fighting Myrkul, even on lower difficulties, lol.
@@SlimXG We're making our way cautiously through Act 3 now! Also, I don't know if you take suggestions, but one thing we found really helpful for the Cazador and House of Grief fights was to cast globe of invincibility before the fight starts and chuck a rune powder barrel (stolen from the Ironhand gnomes) right in the middle of the map. For both fights, it really softens up/sometimes completely eliminates some of the weaker enemies, and in the case of the Cazador fight it doesn't kill any of Astarion's siblings. Once in tactician my wife was able to make it so that Astarion never even got grabbed by Cazador, but we weren't able to repeat it for honor mode. We managed to get a few turns in before the scene triggered, but it did once Astarion got close to Cazador. Not sure if it's random or if you have to keep him in a certain spot to not trigger the scene.
@@ellydhasacamera Barrels?! How dare you! But fighting Cazador without triggering the conversation is one of the things on my list to test and create a consistent method for. Will probably have a heavy focus on tips for that that fight, in general.
Hey man, I can't wait for the Act 3 video! You have the best, most detailed BG3 guides out there. I learnt, and showed my friends, so many things we didn't know through your videos!
I really love just how many alternatives you include, especially if you want tips that aren't _too_ exploity, just helpful to get you out a tough situation
Why, thank you, though it seems UA-cam doesn't think it's too interesting. But if you wanna show it to 100,000 of your friends, I'd certainly appreciate it
@@rahulraghu4928 True, though, you're _supposed_ to be able to get a buff if you're Seluneowheart, but I cover that in the next video I'm putting out soon . .
I've never seen such dishonorable way of clearing Honour Mode. Well done, my good sir. Top tier content. Must've taken forever to edit. Also, using Scratch in the final Act 2 fight is brilliant. Best boi strikes again.
For situations where you're going to be spamming your basic ranged attacks over and over, you can go to the "custom" tab at the bottom of your spell menu, press K and just drag the basic ranged attack into the first spot. That makes it so that you can just ready the attack by pressing 1.
Just got my golden die yesterday, second try. Your Act 1 video was tremendously helpful in tackling the first steps. Started a new run so I'll be sure to watch this one as well.
Wow, this is brilliant! One method I found for bringing Mrykul down fast is with a combo of create water and call lightning. Also love that choke point on the undead room
1:03:50 You can do the Rat method for Yugir without making Astarion threaten to leave - but you'll still miss out on the loot and XP. Before entering the Gauntlet of Shar, sneak up to Raphael without triggering his dialogue and damage him in some way. He will teleport away and your quest log will update that Raphael left without helping and Astarion will need to learn more about his scars in Baldur's Gate. Since Raphael doesn't tell you to kill Yugir, Astarion doesn't have a deal so there is no penalty for killing the rats first and then talking to Yugir - you're not doing anything against Astarion from what he knows
No way! First vid is one of the best I’ve seen, with Svartlebee’s Woundseeker, Smuggler’s Ring and others you’ve permanently improved all my future runs!
This video is so incredibly helpful! Not only that, it’s super entertaining! Great job, this is hands down one of the best Baldur’s Gate tips videos I’ve seen
I am having so many head->desk moments listening to your video. Like the solution to a problem is so dead obvious, but I just never considered using the most obvious solution available until I you said "Hey, so if you do this very obvious thing, then the problem is obviously solved, and you have a much easier time!" :D Ty for the great videos!
@@SlimXG I think the major issue is that we have been fed with so many bad RPGs that we don't even consider that the devs might have put in reasonable interactions between things.
@@TheTwober Yeah, I mean, the main reason this video took so long to make was because I would try out many different ideas for each encounter. Often, I would have already spent a couple days on one boss, have a strategy I was happy with, and then right before moving on, decide to try one more thing and it'd lead to something totally new. Balthazar being a good example.
Welp, I was actually able to complete my first honour mode run between this and your act 1 video, but I'm still very excited to watch and see what neat tips you've got in store for us!
Also, to anyone reading this, don't forget the killer's sweetheart ring from the top of the room after completing the self same trial. Free crit per long rest can be... critical :)
@@SlimXG at the very least, me. i've also finished an honor mode (big thanks to your first video) but later lost my save and thus the golden dices so im going for it again i think.. but since im VERY lazy about it i might even catch an act 3 part (if you plan to make it) ongoing. these vids are fun to watch regardless tho!!
Much appreciated. I would like to make an Act 3 video, but I'm starting to think making it more like the Act 1 video when it comes to detail/duration is probably the way to go. >.>
@@SlimXGluckily this niche is full of more party guides than anyone could ever need but very few cohesive things to prep you for an act. I think this game and your guides could bear relevance for quite a while.
@30:49 OMG THANK YOU THIS IS HUGE. i used to ping invisible people because sometimes it's easy for me to forget (memory illness) while i'm deciding my party actions.. THANK YOU THANK YOU
Man, I was about to make my own guide on Reddit, but this video covers literally every tip I was going to talk about, and more. Even, summoning Flesh in The Silent Library! One tip I would like to add to that if you summon Flesh and flee combat, he will stay behind and usually clear them all up for you. (nice and lazy strat that takes no effort) But also, in doing this, Flesh is reduced to low HP, which causes him to enrage and attack everything, including Balthazar, which he will teleport back to as soon as combat is over, causing him to get in a fight with his creator. Balthazar will normally finish Flesh off pretty quickly, but he will waste his speed potion in doing so. Meaning, after the fighting is done, you can wait until his speed potion wears, and start a fight with him while he's lethargic and can't do anything.
Hahah nice. I like it. And I'm not saying you _should_ do this, but something you _could_ do, if you chose to, would be to make a Reddit post, anyway, and direct people to this video if they're looking for Act 2 tips. It's just a thing that _someone_ might consider doing, but not something I'm suggesting that _you_ do.
I just wanna say, your honor mode guides are amazing! Struggled a lot with act 1 before I found them, and your video really made it a lot less overwhelming. But once I hit my power spike late act 1/act 2, I loved that you show so many of the less cheesey options, and still leave many of the small story beats for us to stumble into. I’ve been trying to beat the game for my first time on honor mode, and though I already had a lot of the main story spoiled, your video still let me stumble into many of the smaller discoveries on my own. Thank you so much for these videos!
And thank you so much for watching them! Since most of the videos that were already out there at the time I was making these mostly covered character builds/items, I tried to focus on techniques and tricks that you can use as lots of different classes, without the most powerful gear (and without resorting to barrels). I do assume people playing Honour Mode have already played through the game at least once, so I certainly don't shy away from any kind of spoilers, but I did try to arrange the content of the video Act 2 in the same basic order as the flow of the act, so that someone could follow along as they like.
Re: Protecting Isobel from Marcus Made an interesting discovery on my current playthrough: getting the Strange Ox to attack me at Last Light caused all the Harpers+Isobel to become allied NPCs instead of neutral ones (i.e. they're all now green dots on the mini map instead of yellow). This was hugely useful for dealing with Marcus, because it meant that Isobel could now benefit from things like paladin auras, the Phalar Aluve Sing effect, Beacon of Hope, and Nature's Step. It was basically impossible for her to be paralyzed or fail a saving throw the whole fight For me though the most important one was Sculpt Spells, cuz it meant that Gale could still throw Fireballs with impunity and not worry about friendly fire 🔥🔥🔥
Can confirm. Dammon freaked out but moved to help in the fight. And since the Strange Ox drops the Shapeshifter's Boon ring anyhow when he falls, this is functionally the best time to get it for the above benefits, if you don't mind missing out on it for Act 1.
I killed Honor Mode Myrkul by throwing water on him to apply 'Wet' condition, blowing two scrolls of Chain Lightning on him (both from a Tempest Cleric, for max damage and doubling it - thanks to the Wet cond.) - and using a Throw-barian with haste and berserker rage to toss stuff at him. Killed him fairly quickly without a lot of rigamarole or Darkness cheese.
I've currently completed about 25% of the video on my run and can honestly say: this deserves way more recognition. Absolutely amazing guide and I'll simply not continue onto act 3 before your guide comes out 🙏🏻
Just finished this the other day... Couldn't be happier with how the outcome! ❤️ I just wanted to share one small tip, and maybe I missed it so if I did my apologies in advance... One the very last fight with Ketheric I couldn't take advantage of the blindness ring because I had sent it to camp (I try to sell items I might need later in game to Dammon to be safe). So in situations where you can't go back to camp, I think it could be useful for a parenthesis of "before going in, get back to camp and get these items". Either way, a fantastic series and you're the sole reason I'll get my golden dice 🙏🏻❤️
@@fredschaves Hahah, well, I always assume people are not watching the video exactly along with their playthrough. So that I can mention an item or spell that they would need to prepare in advance and they'll already know that when the time comes. Such as mentioning the Evard's Black Tentacles necklace after the portal section so that I could segue into the morgue section of the video.
@@SlimXG yeah, that's fair enough! I was literally doing every part with the video on next to me so when I got to Ketheric I panicked and assumed that was the end of it because of the ring ahahaha. But for the next one I'll keep this in mind and won't send any of the items you mention on the video to camp just in case 😂
Trying out solo and used the evard tip on the save the portal challenge. Worked beautifully. That combined with the many targets arrow was just chefs kiss. I was able to kill everyone off with time to spare!
Excellent. Very glad to know that strat worked out well, even solo. I tested it a bit solo, and it was mostly just maintaining concentration while wrangling the shadows that could turn out troublesome.
Thank you SO much for putting this together & sharing! I’m amazingly at the end of Act 2 in my 2nd attempt & your advice has been really helpful, both giving options & reaffirming I’ve been doing things right on my own. I just finished Yurgir & I attempted to follow the advice to take out the displacer beast from the stairs & take shots at the Merregon’s from the ledge (I think this was the easy-not-fast option.) It mostly worked, but the AI got a little smarter. Yurgir decided about mid-fight to jump down and go toe-to-toe with me. I had managed to get some damage to stick on him & with the rest of my group hiding behind me at the top of the stairs, which gave me an advantage to get “surprise” attacks on him from Astarion, Shadowhart & Lae’zel. He went down within 2-3 rounds after, then the Merregon’s began jumping 1 at a time. The pathing in the game kind of messed things up for me when I tried to throw the torch upwards, just reinforcing the idea to select manually where you want to stand. Anyway, Yurgir’s done, we’ve got Flesh’s bell & we’re now heading into the gauntlet. Thanks again!
Having the option to bring in the reserve forces (when you're not actually solo) if things go awry certainly makes that strategy safer hahah. And yeah, it actually took a lot of fiddling to find the right spot to actually toss the torch up there. But since it's not actually essential to the strategy, I didn't stress it too much. Good luck on the rest of your run!
i love the way you tell the guide, this is not best guide for experiencing in first playthrough... but the best guide for second playthrough, this make the game more exciting!!! cant wait for you to make act 3. thank you
True, since the guide is targeted at Honour Mode, I figured it was unlikely to be something someone would watch before their first playthrough (I certainly don't shy away from spoilers).
Thank you very much for making these videos! you really saved my honour run more than a couple of times, foolish me tried act 3 without your help and i lost at the very last fight 😅 pleeeease make another video for act three! I really need it, i think we all really need it! Thank you 🫶🏻
Hahah well, the Act 3 guide is still in the works, but Patch 7 is close enough that I plan to wait until it releases so that I can cover any major changes.
This video (and by extension, the Act 1 video) is by far the best resource for anyone trying to beat Honor Mode. In my dozens of hours of research, no other source of information has come close to the comprehensiveness, simplicity, and presentation quality that this video series has. I also greatly enjoyed some of the other code deep-dive videos (Nightsong Points in particular). I'm hoping to use some of the tips here and many other strategies I've picked up online in my own Honor Mode Guide for Steam (Don't worry, I will give full credit where it's due!)
Well that's quite the praise; thank you. I figure I'm likely to gain more views from you externally pointing to the videos/channel than I am to lose views from you writing out any bits from the videos, so have at it hahah.
Thank you so much for the video guide. I just beat ketheric last night. My honor run has been going pretty well so far. Just some small bumps here and there.
Just wanted to say that I really appreciate your work. Im trying to figure things out by myself generally, but I cant help but watch, the videos are hilarious. Looking forward to act 3 :)
thank you so much for making this! i like how you always include gear information and where to find them whenever you mention them. i never knew you could kill the convoy followers first before killing karniss so i always faced them all head-on, but following your tips makes it better! looking forward to act 3!
@@SlimXG Hello! I just wanna let you know that I got the golden dice today thanks to the majority of your tips from your Act 1 video and this video. I don’t think I could ever complete it without the guide, so thank you again for putting in the hard work to help us gamers out there :D!
@@campusbunny That's awesome. Thank you for letting me know, and I'm glad I was able to help. And sounds like you don't need an Act 3 guide, now . . >.>

@@campusbunny Yeet will probably be included, though I'd hope to find some other interesting stuff. Brain is tough to come up with anything new, since it's such a restricted space to work in. So unless I can work a miracle on that one, it'll probably be pretty boring :/ (still no barrels, though)
This and the Act 1 video are carrying me through to my golden dice. Now I gotta do the rest on my own, but I feel like these vids set me up for success! Thank you! (And I'll be checking in to see if an Act 3 vid drops)
I started my first honor mode a couple months ago. I don't have a lot of time to play, so I know I move slow. I watched you Act 1 video a half dozen times, and I was so happy that act 2 was posted just before I got. I finally finished act 2 last weekend and I really think I got this far because of this video! I'm patiently waiting for the act 3 video, but I have also been loving your other content so I don't know which I want to see more of! Either way just want to say thanks and to keep up the good work!
Thank you! I had just put that Nightsong Points video together as a bit of a break after the Act 2 guide, because I'd mentioned the topic in that video. I didn't expect it to get the attention that it did hahah. I've actually already begun working on the Act 3 guide, it's just a matter of finding the time to work on it vs other, shorter videos.
Just completed my first Honor Mode run with the help of your videos! Thank you so much! Your videos deserve way more traction with how well made they are! Maybe making it into some Shorts could help 🤔
I know next to nothin' about Shorts and don't watch them, myself. But I get the impressions that people watching Shorts aren't looking to watch a 90 minute video . .
@@SlimXGHm I don't know I like looking at shorts just when I'm on the go and longer vids when I'm at home. If anything it'll probably get you more traction in general and because of that more people will stumble upon this series. And I think these videos can pretty easily be cut into some shorts. Just a suggestion but you deserve more views for the work you put into this. ❤
Haven't done an Honour Mode run yet but once I do, I'm doing another with every one of these cheese methods just for the giggles. Can't wait for Act 3 :D
A small tip for clearing the top of moonrise towers, if you go there before you trigger the cutscene with him at the bottom of the tower, he wont be up there. It can be kind of tricky to get up there like this but you can do it. Then you can go back down, trigger the cutscene and he'll go to the top of the tower, alone. great video, I'm learning a lot.
Yeah, I actually considered talking about going to the top floor without triggering the cutscene (can also kill Z'rell's bodyguard ogre alone in her office), but it seemed like a bit much to try to squeeze in the explanation of how to do it. Same sorta reason I didn't go into detail on how to kill every cultist. Looking back, I probably still talked too much about Moonrise hahah.
Nah the moonrise stuff was super helpful. I've been stressing that fight because I didn't realize you can take half them out before hand and never bothered.
@@wasdawasda3849 You can actually take all of them out pretty easily, but it requires you to stand in certain places to pull and that sorta stuff, which is why I tried to narrow it down to the simpler ones.
Something of note for Last Light and Moonrise, If you need to save Minthara do it BEFORE you get Isobel's blessing (or at least have her hauled off begging for mercy). When you tell Marcus to sod off it agros Moonrise and they start killing the unarmed Minthara and you have no control over what she does...
This seems to be a bug that links Cerys and Minthara for some reason, no doubt because Cerys is the replacement for Zevlor in the druid grove attack if he is dead. It seem if Cerys gets an initiative roll so does Minthara, and since Cerys is in last light, if you start the fight with Markus, it makes Minthara start fighting in moonrise. I noticed it added my saved Minthara in camp to the initiative when fighting Marcus, because Cerys is in last light and starts fighting if you didn't kill Zevlor. Really stupid and annoying bug, I think if I use Minthara at all and either Zevlor or Cerys are alive it's going to include them in the innitiaive from what i've read online...
I need you to make an act 3 version of this, SPECIFICALLY because I’ve done almost everything in it but I’m terrified to fight ansur. This series has been amazing and has taught me so many things about the game that I had no idea were possible
I plan to make an Act 3 video, though I think it's probably gonna be more like Act 1, focusing on specific problem fights and out of the way stuff, rather than spending two straight months digging into every part of the act hahah.
He isn't too bad, but he can quickly turn a fight around if you aren't prepared in the slightest. Cannot stress prep with Ansur is kinda your best bet to beating him unless you plan on 1-2 turning him with massive damage (possible) Since convo starts the fight and he has a low Initiative, you can stack barrels/smoke powders at his corpse before talking to him. You can use elixirs of lightning resist to half the damage he does, and also stick near the crystals with HP if you don't have enough for your party. Once the crystals actually break, they provide a buff for your defense and help you tank some of his damage. High enough AC helps, and after a while he has a huge AOE move he charges that hits pretty much the main area he will be around. Make sure when he does that to try and get away as far as possible, and The biggest thing is you basically have to surround Ansur on all cardinal sides of you plan on taking him on with just these few methods and aren't using too much magic. Reason for this is because Ansur every turn will Fly and land somewhere, and cause enemies to go prone around him, so it's best to space your team out before the fight. To start the fight initially, you HAVE to start a conversation to get Ansur to notice you, so this gives you plenty of prep time. You can even sneak and grab the Baldurian Helmet before this fight and give someone a nice equipment piece beforehand. If all else fails, you can keep at least one or two scrolls of Blink, a Globe of Invulnerability, Gaseous Form Potions/Scrolls, Mirror Images. Anything to keep you evasive helps with him. Plan: Position Party before fight Stay moving during Consider preset explosives Use elixirs/potions/scrolls Keep the highest damage dealer healthy until either Ansurs first big AOE or make sure to have them close initially to burst him as quick as you can. On higher difficulty he has a reaction on the first person who hits him physically with a lightning breath and it hurts, be sure to bait it out for your melees or be able to tank it.
Was listening to this video in the background while doing an honor mode run. Decided to respec my shadow heart and realized I didn’t have a haste scroll from anywhere while in act two if you partial rest enough time at last light in Talli shop she can have them eventually took about 20 partial rests before stumbling upon the scroll for those wondering easy ways to get haste access in act two
Appreciate high quality content, great edits, straight to the point, subtle humor, love it. Also, I wanted to replace Karlach for my first honor mode and include Lae'zel but since I found out about Hill Giant Strength potion abuse(+ soul coin), she's just to strong. I am also playing Sword Bard with Titanstring Bow so I am chugging these bad boys every day(God bless Auntie Ethel may she rest in peace 🙏)
I tried to intentionally keep my characters underpowered (no multi-classing, not using all the most powerful item combinations) to show methods that are more universal. And I originally made Karlach a monk just to show off the Soul Coin trick/bug in the Act 1 video, but Open Hand monk is just so good, I had to stick to it hahah.
Awesome video! Just to add in your order that it is important to probably talk to Araj Oblodra with only Gale present in your party first to make him succeed the history check. I had both Astarion and Gale in party and sent my main character to camp. She addressed Astarion for some reason even though i started the convo with Gale which made Astarion automatically say no to her about sucking blood. That locked me out of getting the potion sadly. For some reason in this new patch the main character will always start convo even thought you try to start with someone else in party.
You can just talk to Karniss and persuade him to give you the lantern and then you'll see him and his gang walking around debuffed from the top of the toll house. Easy pickings for fireballs.
Soon, no. I've been working on other videos that I want to get out before Patch 7, and it also seems like a good idea to wait until after Patch 7 to do the majority of the work on the Act 3 guide, so that I can cover anything that changed in the patch.
Absolutely perfect timing, I JUST got up to Act 2 on my Honor Mode run, and was wishing you had a video like your last one for Act 2. With this now I might actually have a chance at surviving, lol. Edit: I should mention that when I did the first method to kill the Drider, he did still cast Sanctuary on himself a couple times.
My wife and I are doing a duo Honor mode run with just our 2 characters, and your videos have been amazing for us. We just finished Act 2 and are waiting for your Act 3 video to help us, lol. Amazing content. Also, the gith fight in Act 1 was probably the most hilarious tip. Yeet. 😊
The assault on the portal w/ halsin ended my first honor mode run, I immediately strategized. Everything in the fight is undead (even the blighted vines I believe) and they spawn on either side of the portal on the far corners, the shadows and wraiths generally come from the shore side, and humanoid/mongrel enemies come from the cursed-house side, vines spawn semi-randomly, preferring areas in range of the party. Strat: Tav or Hireling sorcerer with twinned spell and haste stands at the portal with low-mid Ac and temp hp to draw ranged attacks/throw healing potions. Have two clerics (preferably light domain or life domain for damage or survivability respectively) standing on both sides buffed with any movement buffs/gear you have, final party member is optional, tank is recommended. (karlach or lae'zel work nicely). Start by twin-hasting your clerics, follow with clerics both turning undead and casting spirit guardians to run around and clean up stragglers, play turns two and three normally, turn undead again on turn four and survive round 5 without issues.
@slimXG awesome walkthrough! I am about half way through act 2 and your act 1 walkthrough got me through flawlessly as well. One thing I will note: at the end of your moonrise towers section where you attack susdera and the skeletons, seems like maybe a patch or something has made it to where kethric is automatically pulled into combat as soon as she is attacked. This wasn't a huge deal because I just went back inside the door and fled combat. Also the fact that you left it for last also means the moonrise battle at the end will still be just as easy pretty much.
Nah, I just tested it and got the same results as I showed in the video. Attacking Susdera from stealth and passing the skill check to stay in stealth can cause Ketheric to attack, though. That's what I showed in the video with Wall of Fire. But yeah, that's why I suggested saving it for last, since there are ways it can go wrong.
I think I've showered you with compliments already but damn, I loved this guide SO much. Your channel's quickly become my favorite for the game; I really like how you keep things simple, analytical, but you also got the nerdy jokes too! My 30 year old cousin watched a little of this with me and she was completely "huh?" for the "despite all his rage, he's..." [joke aborted] bit for K'arniss, and ffs, I felt old cracking up while she looked at me like I was psycho. 😅
Hahah thanks a bunch. I appreciate your appreciation. And probably showing MY age a bit with that joke, as well. According to UA-cam analytics, I am older than 95% of my audience . . 👴
@@SlimXG Hahaha RIP on that age statistic, I'm right up there with you I'm guessing. It's, uh... good to be in the top 5%? Will just ignore percent of what for now! 😂
I still plan to make it, but these guide videos take a lot of time to make, on top of juggling the other videos I've detoured to, lately. I need a clone to help speed up the work . .
And thank you. Yes, that's one of the things I that I consider important to include. When you can't just reload a save, you need to be prepared for Plan A to fail hahah.
Thank you so much for making this, i'm so glad it's finally here! The tips have been so interesting and i watched the whole thing through haha. I really hope it gets the response it deserves, your channel is so criminally underrated
My additions would be the fights you can cheese with minor illusion, and the heldusk armor. Both the bandits outside and inside the temple can be bunched together and one tapped using the hanging brick and fire barrel. Heldusk armor can be easily obtained by attacking raphael to force him to go to your camp once you travel to the mountain pass. Then you can use silence and a barbarian with reckless attack set to not ask, then just spam non lethal until he passes out.
@SlimXG you could try to test it put and see how it goes. If it works it is exposure, if it doesn't you just go back to doing what you're doing already 😊
@@SlimXGfor what it’s worth most people who make shorts don’t make good long form content or the long form content isn’t relevant to people who saw the short. People really care about their honor mode runs surviving so if they liked one tip of how to get through act 2, they’ll probably like multiple.
One thing I remembered is the buff from the altar to shar in the gauntlet of shar, by the rooms near Baalthazar. They give you necrotic resistance until long rest, for passing a DC14 religion check, which can be done by all characters. I saved this buff for before entering the mind flayer colony, since myrkul has some devastating necrotic hits. Note that since I had shadowheart spare the nightsong, she got special options for [enemy of shar]- needless to say, i did not click them in honor mode since they probably lead to a curse.
For the hyena checks if you are playing a dark urge character you only have to pass the initial wisdom check, they side with you automatically after that!
Gotta leave another comment here. I just beat Ketheric and Myrkul! This guide was so helpful I cannot thank you enough! Karlach with 27 strenght as a Monk dealt nearly half of his HP in one turn. So busted. Next to Act 3
Hahah that's awesome. Very glad to know that it helped you. I originally made Karlach a monk just to show off the Soul Coin fire damage bug/trick in the Act 1 video, but I couldn't help but keep her as one because of how useful having an Open Hand monk is. Go punch that brain, Jogurt.
Thank you so so much for all the effort behind this and last video!! It all has worked out flawlessly and seriously helped! That was until the Ketheric fight where, for who knows what reason, a bug spawned in a *second* Kethric at full health, and he even walked off his main platform and started attacking and so everything to hell :) After having gotten away with most fights relatively easy (as per the guide), this sure was a way to get me back up on my seat lol Was a very very close call in the end, which was kinda nice for a change to be honest, but I'd rather not take 3 bosses at once again
Hahah ok, in all my testing on that fight, I have to admit that I never encountered a second Ketheric. The game musta figured that things were going too easily and bumped up the challenge. Now I just gotta figure out how to spawn a second Netherbrain . .
You can get the moonlantern without fighting as the first interaction in the shadow cursed lands. Go through the mountainpass, then skip the convoy and just go to the ambush spot. Have a charisma character be spotted and then it's just 2 deception checks for the moon lantern. Karnis and the group will then willingly go into the shadow curse, and you can fight them when they are all undead and weaker.
You missed an area underneath the prison in Moonrise Towers. After you clear all the guards you can exit the door where the cell door openers are. There is a large hole in the floor that you use feather fall on. Once down there if you turn left you will find a corpse with a larvae. Then go right and follow the path and you get to the back of the cells where you can break the walls and release the tieflings and Wulbren
Thanks very much, this made act 2 (and 1) a breeze! Kind of scared to venture into Act 3 without a guide now lol =P (Hopefully I dont rip in Act 3 before your video comes out)
I plan to, though I'm juggling a few different ideas, right now, and the full act guides take a lot of work to make (even I learned my lesson about making Act 2 too long, so Act 3 would be more condensed)
Thank you! Act 3 happening kinda depends on how well this video does. I'd really like to complete the set, but with how long it takes for these full act videos, BG3 popularity may be gone by the time I'd finish it hahah.
I didn't check the Ketheric part until I was there, so I didn't have the blind immunity ring. I did pretty much the same strat, but cast half of the darkness cloud on the platform. I took a step out to attack, then went back in to end my turn. Just had to make sure I went in a good bit so the mindflayer couldn't get advantage by staying on the outside
Ah, nice. Yeah, the main *advantage* to being immune to blind is the advantage/disadvantage state against the mind flayer. And hey, I said that ring was gonna come in handy later, but then you didn't keep it in hand!
PATCH 7 UPDATE: If your Command Drop cast on Kar'niss fails, he will immediately attack.
Watched a third of the video and I thought i have seen everything but there is still 2/3.
I’m impressed how much research you did
@@sleyana_ I appreciate you settling in to watch the whole thing; I figure most people probably just skip to certain fights and then close it hahah.
Hey man, I loved this. Are you going to make a video for Act 3 aswell?
@@Doppel95 Yes, indeed. I'm working on a shorter video, first, that should be done soon. And then Act 3 will come next. Will take a bit to make, I'm sure (but not as long as Act 2 did . .)
@@SlimXG Nice! You have my sub :D Looking forward to it. Do you really think it'll be less work? Aren't there way more fights that are harder (like Raphael, Ansur, etc.)?
Algorithm needs to bless you, this is easily one of the best BG3 guides that are actually original, I’ve never even heard of most of these tips
@@ellydhasacamera That makes me happy to hear. I'm really glad the effort actually helped someone hahah. Wait, you AND your wife? TWO people!

Thank you.
I've never seen such dishonorable way of clearing Honour Mode. Well done, my good sir. Top tier content. Must've taken forever to edit. Also, using Scratch in the final Act 2 fight is brilliant. Best boi strikes again.
Hey, I, uh, oh, ok, thank you.
For situations where you're going to be spamming your basic ranged attacks over and over, you can go to the "custom" tab at the bottom of your spell menu, press K and just drag the basic ranged attack into the first spot. That makes it so that you can just ready the attack by pressing 1.
Cant you just hold control then left click them? Feels easier than changing a button binding
Extremely useful video. I finally got through Act 2 on my 4th try using these tactics. Ready for Act 3!
Just got my golden die yesterday, second try. Your Act 1 video was tremendously helpful in tackling the first steps.
Started a new run so I'll be sure to watch this one as well.
That's awesome. Glad to know it helped. I hope this one has at least a few useful tidbits.
Watched this all the way through. These guides are the most helpful ones out there! I cannot wait for act 3!

Well thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Sometimes I wonder how I completed BG3 on honour mode without these tips. Now my future playthroughs will be even better 😅 Thank you!! ☺️
I am having so many head->desk moments listening to your video. Like the solution to a problem is so dead obvious, but I just never considered using the most obvious solution available until I you said "Hey, so if you do this very obvious thing, then the problem is obviously solved, and you have a much easier time!" :D
Ty for the great videos!
Hahah well I'm happy to help, and I hope your head feels better
@@SlimXG I think the major issue is that we have been fed with so many bad RPGs that we don't even consider that the devs might have put in reasonable interactions between things.
@@TheTwober Yeah, I mean, the main reason this video took so long to make was because I would try out many different ideas for each encounter. Often, I would have already spent a couple days on one boss, have a strategy I was happy with, and then right before moving on, decide to try one more thing and it'd lead to something totally new. Balthazar being a good example.
Most underrated BG3 Honor Mode guide in the world
These videos are so good, I can't wait for Act 3. You've made my honor mode run go so smoothly thus far.
Welp, I was actually able to complete my first honour mode run between this and your act 1 video, but I'm still very excited to watch and see what neat tips you've got in store for us!
Yeah, with how long it took to make, I've been wondering if there's anyone left to watch it . .
I do assume people playing Honour Mode have already played through the game at least once, so I certainly don't shy away from any kind of spoilers, but I did try to arrange the content of the video Act 2 in the same basic order as the flow of the act, so that someone could follow along as they like.
you have an immaculate speaking voice. im not even in act 2 and im just listening to you talk lol

Re: Protecting Isobel from Marcus
Made an interesting discovery on my current playthrough: getting the Strange Ox to attack me at Last Light caused all the Harpers+Isobel to become allied NPCs instead of neutral ones (i.e. they're all now green dots on the mini map instead of yellow). This was hugely useful for dealing with Marcus, because it meant that Isobel could now benefit from things like paladin auras, the Phalar Aluve Sing effect, Beacon of Hope, and Nature's Step. It was basically impossible for her to be paralyzed or fail a saving throw the whole fight
For me though the most important one was Sculpt Spells, cuz it meant that Gale could still throw Fireballs with impunity and not worry about friendly fire 🔥🔥🔥
Hahah very nice. I like it.
Can confirm. Dammon freaked out but moved to help in the fight. And since the Strange Ox drops the Shapeshifter's Boon ring anyhow when he falls, this is functionally the best time to get it for the above benefits, if you don't mind missing out on it for Act 1.
Dude no words can describe how helpful this video was for my honour run! You are really the goat, cheers!
I am happy to help! 🐐
Absolutely amazing guide and I'll simply not continue onto act 3 before your guide comes out 🙏🏻
Hahah well now the pressure's really on. And what if the Act 3 video stinks!
@@SlimXG you're being too humble my man! 😂 I'm sure it's gonna be incredible 🙏🏻
This just helped me breeze through Act 2. I found your Evards Black Tentacles tip especially powerful. On to Act 3!

This is seriously such an awesome video. Absolutely love the depth.
Cannot stress prep with Ansur is kinda your best bet to beating him unless you plan on 1-2 turning him with massive damage (possible)
Since convo starts the fight and he has a low Initiative, you can stack barrels/smoke powders at his corpse before talking to him.
Make sure when he does that to try and get away as far as possible, and
The biggest thing is you basically have to surround Ansur on all cardinal sides of you plan on taking him on with just these few methods and aren't using too much magic.
Plan:
Position Party before fight
Stay moving during
Consider preset explosives
Use elixirs/potions/scrolls
Keep the highest damage dealer healthy until either Ansurs first big AOE or make sure to have them close initially to burst him as quick as you can.
On higher difficulty he has a reaction on the first person who hits him physically with a lightning breath and it hurts, be sure to bait it out for your melees or be able to tank it.
Your videos helped me A LOT in passing honor mode in act 1 and it's helping in act 2, thank you man, if you do act 3 too, humble :)
Happy to help. Act 3 is in the plans, I just don't know when it'll be finished.
Thanks to your videos I’m just about to enter act 3 on honour mode! Do you think you’ll upload the act 3 guide soon?
Soon, no. I've been working on other videos that I want to get out before Patch 7, and it also seems like a good idea to wait until after Patch 7 to do the majority of the work on the Act 3 guide, so that I can cover anything that changed in the patch.
Thank you for making this video. I've gotten through Act 1 and half of act 2 with ur tips.
Thank you for watching. I'm happy to help.
This has been so helpful!! Best Honor mode guide on UA-cam
And this one's got way more detail (probably too much detail . .) I hope it ends up useful.
Your videos are absolutely fantastic and it's a crime you don't have more subscribers. I look forward to the next one!
Thank you very much for the kind words. I'll see what I can come up with, next . .
@@SlimXG Any fun builds? Also obv Tier 3 video like this one. :D
Yeet. 😊
Hahah I'm glad you enjoyed it. Act 3 is gonna take some time to finish, though hopefully not as long as Act 2 did >.>
@SlimXG Take your time. You have great content. It's digestible and easy to follow.
@@giovanniromero1950 Thank you. I hope more people have the same patience that you do hahah
@@SlimXG ahhh yeah.. stealth could have definitely caused the issue.
Anyways thanks for the reply, and awesome walkthrough videos!
@@Silneth Gotta take the victories where we can get em'! Along with the joint pain.
My king, my savior. When can we expect the Act 3 vid? Don't think I can beat the game without it!
I still plan to make it, but these guide videos take a lot of time to make, on top of juggling the other videos I've detoured to, lately. I need a clone to help speed up the work . .
DESPITE ALL MY RAGE!! While deleted, it did convince me to subscribe. Kudos man
Hahah thank you
What i like are all the alternatives for things that might fail. Sooo helpful. Thank you. :))))
And thank you. Yes, that's one of the things I that I consider important to include. When you can't just reload a save, you need to be prepared for Plan A to fail hahah.
You are BG2 genius, sir. I'm truly impressed.
So you're saying I should make Baldur's Gate 2 videos, next?
(And thank you)
Thank you so much for making this, i'm so glad it's finally here! The tips have been so interesting and i watched the whole thing through haha. I really hope it gets the response it deserves, your channel is so criminally underrated
Thank you very much! I appreciate you actually watching the whole thing hahah, and I'm glad you liked it.
My 3 guys were standing right where I pushed Goldilocks out and they all turned to gold!
😧
Wow😅thats UNLUCKY 😂
Seriously, you need to clip this and your last video and make shorts. That will bring more deserved traffic to your videos.
Hmm, I've considered that, but I've also heard that mixing audiences from shorts and long form often doesn't go well.
Amazing videos, funny, very insightful... Please, keep going with Act 3 ❤❤❤
You are a lifesaver sir, helping me a lot in the road for that achievement
Happy to help
One thing I remembered is the buff from the altar to shar in the gauntlet of shar, by the rooms near Baalthazar. They give you necrotic resistance until long rest, for passing a DC14 religion check, which can be done by all characters. I saved this buff for before entering the mind flayer colony, since myrkul has some devastating necrotic hits.
Note that since I had shadowheart spare the nightsong, she got special options for [enemy of shar]- needless to say, i did not click them in honor mode since they probably lead to a curse.
I love your guides man ! You are saving my honor run with your guides :)
I'm happy to help!
@@SlimXGI managed to beat the Honor Mode yesterday! These videos were such a big help! Big thanks to these videos cheers mate
@@Thomas_667 \o/ That's awesome, and I'm glad my lack of Act 3 guide didn't hold you up hahah. Happy to help.
@@SlimXG nah I skipped most of the bosses because I just wanted the dice ;) Also r.i.p. Gale 😂
@@Thomas_667 💣
Thank you so so much for all the effort behind this and last video!! It all has worked out flawlessly and seriously helped! That was until the Ketheric fight where, for who knows what reason, a bug spawned in a *second* Kethric at full health, and he even walked off his main platform and started attacking and so everything to hell :) After having gotten away with most fights relatively easy (as per the guide), this sure was a way to get me back up on my seat lol
Was a very very close call in the end, which was kinda nice for a change to be honest, but I'd rather not take 3 bosses at once again
Hahah ok, in all my testing on that fight, I have to admit that I never encountered a second Ketheric. The game musta figured that things were going too easily and bumped up the challenge. Now I just gotta figure out how to spawn a second Netherbrain . .
@@SlimXG Well count me out, because I am NOT doing that again! :D
@@_potatodude_542 How about two Ansurs? Or two circuses?
Yeah, but I had to leave out some stuff. I already included way more than I should have hahah.
Having just completed Act 2 on my latest HM run I'm going to watch all the things I should have done now...
Hahah perfect timing
Thanks very much, this made act 2 (and 1) a breeze! Kind of scared to venture into Act 3 without a guide now lol =P (Hopefully I dont rip in Act 3 before your video comes out)
I got a good idea. You play through Act 3, and if you die, then you tell me what killed you and I'll know to cover that in the guide!
Damn dude, this kind of video takes a ton of work. Well done!
It does, indeed. And thank you!
Let's goo!!, so happy for your videos 😍
I couldn't have gotten this far in honor mode without you. Thank you so much for making these videos. Will you be making a Act 3 video?
I plan to, though I'm juggling a few different ideas, right now, and the full act guides take a lot of work to make (even I learned my lesson about making Act 2 too long, so Act 3 would be more condensed)
Extremely high quality video. Worthy of a 100k sub channel :)
Well, then I guess you should tell 98k of your friends about it
@@SlimXG I'm afraid I don't have a single friend. Shall certainly share the videos around if I ever make any :)
You did it! I‘ll watch it with pleasure.
Hope we see an act 3 and thanks for your work :)
Thank you! Act 3 happening kinda depends on how well this video does. I'd really like to complete the set, but with how long it takes for these full act videos, BG3 popularity may be gone by the time I'd finish it hahah.
@@SlimXG It is already gone i think, but you still fill gap in my opinion.
And good to see you improved your audio quality as well. :)
@@sleyana_ Hahah yeah, thanks. It could still be better, but I'm continuing to work on it.
10/10 Guide. I know you said it already... but Act III please :)
