Nice video! I had the Problem with Karlach aswell until i realised that you need to give dammon 1 infernal metal in act 1 before the big gathering in your camp. And at that time you specifically need to take the prompt that you've taken your all your courage to tell her you like her. Then you can kiss her (or at least try) and progress to a full romance in acts 2 and 3. If you fail to take the right dialogue in act1 its just gone. Super sad in my Opinion but thats just how it works.
Someone probably answered that question already, but at 15:00 you are wondering why you didn't Counterspell his Spindleweb Sanctuary. In BG3 as well as DnD, if you try to Counterspell an enemy, it only automatically succeeds if the targeted spell is equal or lower the Spell level you casted Counterspell, but you have to roll if the targeted spell is higher than the level you used. When you hovered over Spindleweb Sanctuary, it said it was a 4th level spell and Counterspell is a 3rd level spell. So since you casted at a lower level than him, you needed to roll a 14 (10 + target spell level) to cancel his spell. Otherwise Counterspell would be too powerful if you could just cast it at 3rd level and cancel 9th level consistently.
Had the shadow sanctuary platform elevator thing drop me and one of my 2 friends into the abyss killing my friend, yet unfortunately I survived falling into the pit with 10hp and was completely trapped inside the wall at the bottom of the pit. Was forced to reload as travel to camp is disabled in the area and It was impossible to kill my character because the wall blocked all attacks from outside and anything I threw from the inside phased through the wall and fell into the pit.

Karlach has romance has a couple bugs in it btw. In act one you need high approval before the first fix then immediately go to camp to talk and long rest. You have to pick the bottom option saying that you still can’t touch her. The bug continues in act 2, when you repair her again you need to kiss her and immediately long rest again. Fortunately there is a chance for it to come back when long resting after killing myrkul but before going to act 3. It’s very annoying
Highly recommend alert/initiative potions and gear in honor mode. In BG3 initiative is a d4 compared to a d20 like on tabletop so a flat bonus like the +5 alert gives is a godsend for ensuring you can go first.

Hey nice video. Just wanted to point out counterspell is not rng. Your counter spell didn't work because it was casted at lvl3. The drider casted a level 4 spell.
Thanks for watching! The wiki says “Nullify another creature's spell as a reaction. The spell must be 3rd Level or lower. If it is higher, you must succeed a Check to nullify it, the difficulty of which is based on the spell's Level.” Succeeding a check means rng.
@@JoystickJournalYT But if you have a higher level counterspell it is a guarantee. CS is base level 3, but can be upcast like most spells. If you were higher you could upcast to level 4 counterspell and guarantee nullify his sanctuary. Kinda hard to tell what spell level is being cast though. If it is an upcast low level spell (say a fireball upcast to level 4) then the little popup will show a little arrow when you get the notifcation to counterspell, but if the spell is outright a higher level spell that is not being upcasted I dont know how to tell what level it is.

fun fact counter spell is only a guarantee if the spell you're attempting to counterspell is the same level or lower than the spell you use to cast counterspell. The dryder was casting sanctuary at 4th level and you cast counterspell at 3rd, which means you then made a secret spellcasting roll that had to beat a 14 (10+lvl of spell being countered) that you failed. Also, where y'all fell off the platform in the shar trial, that happened to me on my first playthrough ever. when i was on normal mode. Ever since then i leave one character at camp during that because i don't trust it

15:12 I'm sure someone already said this but counterspell is only RNG if the spell youre countering is a higher level spell slot than the slot you used to cast counter spell, so Spiderweb Sanctuary was cast at level 4 and your counterspell was only level 3 yeehaw
15:00 counterspell is only automatic for spells of 3rd level or lower. Anything higher you need to cast it at a higher level or succeed at an ability check.
15:25 the same thing happened to me but in the tavern where you meet all your allies before the final battle and I was casting speak with animals so I could talk with my baby (owlbear) set everyone on fire. Luckily I wasn’t on honor mode so I loaded back cause instantly Dame Allian, nine fingers and everyone else wanted to kill me.
Hey, fun thing i found, you dont even need to find the hidden switches for the robe and staff in Sorcerous Sundries. If you have a character with the 4th Lvl Ice Storm spell, you can cast them ove the bubbles and statues and it'll flip the switches, letting you grab them. (Found this out after failing to detect them 13 times. Yes i save-scummed hahaha)
@JoystickJournalYT Yeah! I was getting frustrated because my team kept failing to find it, so I just had Gale attack the bubble in anger and the switch flipped! Easy loot :D
I'm doing this with friends as well. We already know where all the enemies are and stuff, so during tough battles, we tend to send one guy to base just before and chill or have one guy have fantastic mobility to just dash away in case things go wrong lol
I did something similar. Wild Magic sorcerer and barbarian, but each had a level in bard, one was named Bill and the other Ted, and together, they're Wyld Magyck.
After a quick google-search, I can tell you why you didn't get the Karlach-achievement: you have to unlock a specific cutscene (I think it's dining with her in the Elfsong Tavern, at least that's what gave me the achievement). According to some comments it may be hard to reach this when earlier nightly cutscenes with her get "overwritten" with others, though I didn't have any trouble with it. I tend to do partial rests regularly until all the nightly cutscenes have played out though, so maybe try to do a few more long/partial rests next time you try this achievement, to make sure you get all the necessary interactions with Karlach.
So I know I’m a bit late, but Karlach is a case of needing to be perfect with it. My recommendation is to get her as soon as you get the quest to find her and do as many approval ratings before doing the tiefling party, this includes ending the goblin raid as that’s 10+ approval. Before the party, give her one piece of infernal iron and you should get the option to kiss her. Later at the party talk to her about having an idea on how to cool her down, as the kiss won’t work with her being too hot. Use an ice spell or throw water at her and then kiss her. From here just raise approval until act two where you can give her a piece of infernal iron again HOWEVER. When you reach the last night inn, there are several long rest events that take priority over Karlach. My recommendation is to go through each long rest until you have a night where you don’t have anymore events, then give Karlach the second piece of iron so that she now has nothing taking priority over her event. I know it’s complicated and I messed up as well when I first tried
I remember in a previous playthrough I had Lae'Zel be a Wild Magic Barbarian and against the false Paladins of Tyr when she raged the wild magic caused thorns vines on the floor where my entire team was. XD I was facepalming so hard. Be sure that I had to redo that fight.
Probably a bit late, but I wanna point out that Evasion is specifically for Dex saves. Monks and Rouges get this ability as well. So it's important to diversify the kinds of saving throws you can inflict. Also, i'm assuming the reason why everything Evasion is pretty much just to counter Fireball, since it was pretty much designed to be overpowered in 5e.
I also do the Jaheria/Shakira joke to myself! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought of that. I have also only played Dark Urge, so seeing Alfirq in Act 2 is wild to me.
Ha, I never am able to be satisfied with just 1 run, the temptation to do a new build and new character is always too much and that's how I end with 17 runs at the same time. XD And that's just the ones I currently have, not counting all the ones I deleted before. XD
Evasion is working as intended. It always halves spells no matter what but if enemy succeeds the save, they just take no fucking damage. This is why end game rogues are IMPOSSIBLE to hit. They become literal Dark Souls protagonists and can phase through attacks
I've always laughed about how that's supposed to look when they are standing in an open space. Do they just... Grab the nearest enemy and use them as a shield? Dig a foxhole into the ground instantaneously?
I wish there were more wild magic subclasses, while not the best or most effective, are incredibly fun. I could see, at least a similar system, working for monk, ranger, and paladin where maybe its an extra "gamble" option where you put in a spell slot (or ki point for monk) amd you get a random spell of level or up, but for all you know it could be a spell that harms or hinders you or a similarly slightly different system.
I know I'm late but something I do with the elevators that fixes it for me at least, is going back to the main menu and then load back in and the elevator works fine seems like a hard reset of the map just fixes it

So much heart in you
Emperor: you can't defeat the Netherbrain cuz you it knows what are you going to do at all times
Wild Magic: are you SURE about that ?
i see that you as well have been converted to the church of bale (barbarian gale). in my playthrough i did with him he threw half-eaten gnomes and mauled sheep at his enemies. truly the best character in bg3.
Very well done, and a very well made video
Seeing you struggle with the Karlach romance, did you ever get her second upgrade/romance scene in Act 2?
Yup. She lead me on all game yet still wasn't willing to go all the way with a Half Orc.
@@JoystickJournalYT did you do the act 1 scene after the first upgrade where you cool her down and kiss her? and in act 2 after the 2nd upgrade did you get the scene where you sleep with her?
15:12 I'm sure someone already said this but counterspell is only RNG if the spell youre countering is a higher level spell slot than the slot you used to cast counter spell, so Spiderweb Sanctuary was cast at level 4 and your counterspell was only level 3
yeehaw
Wild Magic Barbarian + Wild Magic Sorceror Half-Orcs?
I'm gonna tell my kids this is Gork and Mork. 😂😂😂
The Dark Tendrils surge is why I usually have Karlach charge first, rage after.
WHOA that is a GREAT find!
Gotta love whoever’s in Charge of camp reviving!
I did something similar. Wild Magic sorcerer and barbarian, but each had a level in bard, one was named Bill and the other Ted, and together, they're Wyld Magyck.
loved this and the previous vid too... excited for the next!
Only playthrough i ever watched twice. Great fun!
19:20 I knew exactly what was going to happen when I saw all 4 characters on the elevator at the same time. Never do that.
Thank you sir, high effort video.
Thank you sir, for watching!
19:20 oh my god i have had that happen to me before and im now always paranoid when activating that disc
Another awesome video!
XD they didnt noticed they used a level 3 counter spell on a level 4 spell
It's hilarious that the only way to save Wyll from a fate worse than death is to launch him into the abyss followed by a salvo of bombs. 😂
The gauntlet of shar bug happened to me as well… I was loosing my mind
I remember in a previous playthrough I had Lae'Zel be a Wild Magic Barbarian and against the false Paladins of Tyr when she raged the wild magic caused thorns vines on the floor where my entire team was. XD I was facepalming so hard. Be sure that I had to redo that fight.
This was really fun to watch!
Thanks for watching!
Can't wait for update 7 to release the NEW EVIL ENDINGS for us to do a pure evil run >:D
BRA I FOUGHT THAT SPIDER AT LEVEL 2 YOU TELLING ME I SHOULDVE BEEN 5
@@davidwhite1125 lvl 2 spider on honour mode with permadeath is just recklessness lmao
Next time consider Alert feat, makes you go first pretty much always
Probably a bit late, but I wanna point out that Evasion is specifically for Dex saves. Monks and Rouges get this ability as well. So it's important to diversify the kinds of saving throws you can inflict.
Also, i'm assuming the reason why everything Evasion is pretty much just to counter Fireball, since it was pretty much designed to be overpowered in 5e.
That intro is metal af
But also mental af 😂
i know it's said a lot but this deserves more views it's so good
Funny how you can absolutely tell two guys are playing the game when you see most ridiculously looking, non dyed equipment and unhidden helmets.
You'll probably get a kick out of watching my wife outdress us both in our other playthrough!
@@JoystickJournalYT I'll have to see it for myself :)
You got funny magic gork and mork over there
I also do the Jaheria/Shakira joke to myself! I’m glad I’m not the only one who thought of that.
I have also only played Dark Urge, so seeing Alfirq in Act 2 is wild to me.
Stop making me want to start a new character, I already played too much😂
A new patch always warrants a new Playthrough!
If your friend was the host you cant romance anyone.
One of my favorite wild magic lines was: Oh good, that means I can kill him ON PURPOSE.
Oh god that happened when my friend and I used that same plate. Was a horrifying experience
I know I'm late but something I do with the elevators that fixes it for me at least, is going back to the main menu and then load back in and the elevator works fine
seems like a hard reset of the map just fixes it
The elevator bit was so funny
15:06
It depends on the spells level.
You tried to counterspell lvl 4 spell with a lvl 3 counter spell
Why is everyone hating Shar trials, they literrally take 5min and have 2 cool fights
Throw barb and gloomstalker ranger builds are still OP in honor mode when using cloud giant elixirs. They could make it harder still.
After now beating the game with something as useless as wildmagic, I agree. They definitely could make it harder lmao
