Followed by seeking an alibi and reaching out for others meaning he likely didn't have a solid credible alibi to place him anywhere away from the crime scene. Also he alleged he fled and came back and called 911 but then says he called her friend and family. Like he's all over the place with his stories. If he wasn't guilty he would be asking is she okay? It's also fine for him to add details he glossed over before the panic and his adrenaline are all typical of being in deadly situations.

And he was mostly making voluntary statements with no questions, but they did ask a few questions to clarify what he was already saying.

TL;DR - she rejected him, he got angry and shot her 8 times. Picked up the bullet casings and gun, drove off to hide the evidence, and then drove back to act like he “found” her.

His story was just so rehearsed and consistent for someone who witnessed something so shocking. Things like how many shots were fired are difficult to recount accurately in a panicked situation like that unless you know how many bullets were in the gun.
When he kept checking with the officer “Are you listening? Are you listening?” Working hard to convince the officer and keep his story straight, I immediately knew he did it.
He said when he left she locked the door. Then he said the door was unlocked and he seen her on the floor. For an innocent by stander he was counting the shots. That screemish voice.🫤

He shot her after she wouldn't take him back, and then panicked after he realizes what actually happened and then starts trying to back build an alibi by trying to lay the groundwork with the neighbors and his friends on the phone that some random person was in her apartment. Thank heaven the neighbors weren't afraid to speak up on what they heard and paid attention to what was going on!
At 10:48 he tells the police standing by him that he has an alibi, then he starts yelling a story to someone on the sidewalk about being with them earlier in the day, so they will back him up with that story. But from the story he told over and over and over about leaving, hearing the shots, driving away, then coming back, he has no alibi for the minutes before and after Leah was actually shot.

Excessive details in a story are signs of a rehearsal, but they don't tend to memorize it later. It's a dead giveaway.
