I think you guys are underestimating their cunning. Like other commenters have pointed out, buddy ran because he likely had illegal drugs or firearms in the car. During the chase he found an opportunity to ditch the stuff at which point he gave himself up. The family likely knows all this, and may even be distracting the police (as much as they can) and one or two among them are retrieving the contraband either to keep it or more thoroughly dispose of it (get rid of any evidence that might link their guy to the items, fingerprints or whatever, or just get it away from the area the police can deduce that he was while running away). Point being this seems like a crew who knows what they're doing and basically got away with a relatively minor charge compared to what buddy would have been hit with had they been able to prove he was in possession of the guns/drugs. That's my impression anyways. It's always a little bit performative when people act scared of the police - but these people strike me as the sort that know full well the cops aren't going to hurt them, and they know what lines not to cross and how to make just enough of a scene to obscure what they're really up to. Oddly it's the people who _aren't_ career criminals, and are also very dumb, who freak out the most and are genuinely scared that the police will kill em for no reason (thanks CNN...). These people know the score. The thing about cops is that they're predictable and act in predictable ways. Skilled criminals know very well at which point the police will use lethal force and at which point they won't - and they often play dumb like this and use that knowledge to their advantage. The perp in this case took a calculated risk and it paid off for him. He made sure to speed off before the cops were in the car with him (had he stepped on the gas while they were trying to pull him out - they could and probably would taze or shoot him), and once he disposed of the contraband he went out into the open and suddenly knew exactly how to comply with their orders. All of which is to say - these people aren't idiots. They're criminals.
I feel bad for that officer. He’s trying so hard to do his job professionally. But deep down inside, he knows the drill. He knows the tall schedule. Nobody wants to do this job anymore. And I don’t blame them one bit. Be safe out there sir.
Always so “scared” of the cops, but always so willing to put themselves in a position where the cops would have to do something to them. Don’t even get me started on the single digit IQ of his family members.
He got rid of the real evidence. He wasn't worried about that open container. What dope/gun he had, he stashed and can come back for later. Instead of years in prison, he spends a night or two, gets some probation, and a fine. If he was actually scared and wanted to get away, he was gone. Dump the shit and give up. Use the media's mass hysteria as a cover story. Street kids aren't dumb. Those cops are obviously dumb though. If they used that dog, they would have found the real crime. Instead they bought into the distraction that was created. I would expect cops from a decent sized city to have some street smarts.

Typical basketball people
I think you guys are underestimating their cunning.

He called his buddy on speaker and he saying “DRIVE DRIVE DRIVE” “RUN”😂
@@WittneyHolmes the funniest part😂
I don't care how fast you are; you could be Usain Bolt. Nobody is faster than a radio signal.
@@SouthparkSecurity Maybe not in that car.
Black people being black people😂
😂😂
This is the best police bodycam video i've ever seen, in terms of all around competent & respectful police.
2 Respectful, and intelligent cops performing a routine traffic stop. Extremely clear about their probable cause and what they want the guy to do. No one pulled out a gun to shoot at him as he drove off. Neither of them was even panicking or cursing at the guy either.
7:32 no one needing a breath meaning most of them are in shape too.
Really amazing police whatever state this bodycam footage is from.
9:27 I like this guy talking to him too, sounds like a really chill cop.
Yeah, like when they caught up to him and said "get on the ground motherfucker" that part was sooooo respectful!
Competent? This dirtbag had plenty of time to ditch the gun and drugs. That's the only reason he wouldn't get out of the car. Now he'll be able to go back and get them. Far from Competent!
Cop was incredibly chill. You can't expect everyone to be a perfect fit for the job but that officer was. Incredible dude and a very chill officer.
Knew two dudes like that in my town they knew when to just be relaxed and chat with you and when to shut it off and shut the situation down. They made life easy.
We got this drop dead gorgeous young blonde for awhile too they'd send her when they needed to put on the charm lol. And she knew how to put the charm on.
I Used to work in a soup kitchen.
So chill while they violated a guys liberty because the government says what we can do 🤮
seems to be my home state of Ohio, since the guy who got his car hit said his mom lives in Cleveland and he was out dashing (unless he was dashing in another state 😂)
the cop begging the family members to just listen so he doesnt have to arrest them is rough-how do people not understand that you cant obstruct an arrest? and how do they not realize that they are obstructing?
They're just distracting the cops while somebody of them unseen by the cops is retrieving the gun and drugs.
Because they were not obstructing. The cops could have just gone about their business and there would be no confrontation.
@@susanohnhaus611so the cop can ignore them. Instead of confronting them and claiming they forced him to do so.
Whoa, whoa whoa, hold your horses there.
Surely you're not expecting THOSE people to act logically, right?
Such a calm and professional cop
Anyone who fears for their life wouldn't be so brazen. Just another attempt to delay his arrest. THEN he decides to take off. Where the heck does he think he's going? Dude deserves to go to jail and receive this week's Einstein award.
There is a term, 'scared stiff' for a reason. Usually, when you are scared, you freeze.
Me and my friend are more afraid of the ghetto blacks in the neighborhood than the cops and non blacks since he runs a tire shop.
PRobably isn't allowed to have a gun, probably had one in the car, was never gonna get out and let them find it, so he ran in order to ditch it, "successfully". That's my guess
@@saltydog9321why tho? It's not like back when getting caught with a gun was 7 years in prison. Sht is pbj. Even if you're a felon. Most can beat jail these days. It's wild.
Let’s call it like it is…he deserves a Darwin Award 😂
i swear man that family just wanted to argue, tried to find any way to paint themselves as a victim honestly it’s embarrassing
Totally expected though.
an entire culture of people that do anything but cooperate
"Offended by everything, accountable for nothing"
It’s a cultural thing…the family is perfectly fine with their family member committing crime, just not getting held accountable…
Plus always offended and incredulous
Wait. What? Black people commit crimes? No way.
I think ALL cultures have families like that😂
Statistics would suggest that there are some demographics who have abundantly more families like this.
@@davidretondo2871fr tho lmfao
