cool , such a big difference in roots , have a variety of paphs , just started with the mottled types . , I like your 'pruning ' of dead roots . Yes 'hairy paph 'roots . essential for paphs . I like the idea that you make the mix according to your ability to water , the lica balls are a must for my next repotting season . Am crushing eggshells and adding bonemeal when repotting . Am experimenting with 2 roths in baskets , mostly coco husk , soak once a month so far :-) Makes me think again :-)

Rick L. Orchids thank you! I notice you use a lot of calcium supplements I with orchids. Do you notice a major difference?

.....yes......its the secret to growing orchids.......they need a steady supply as they would get hanging in a tree.....make sure they have calcium around them all the time and they grow like orchids should........you will never ever worry about growing roots again, they will never die back.. They will grow big and fast......You will get multiple growths that get full size...and they will bloom and bloom for you......Give them calcium and they grow thick cell walls, the leaves will become very stiff, plastic feeling, the leaves get hard and tough...and your plants will never have spider mites, scale, mealy bugs, etc.....you wont have to spray them with pesticides......yes ....a major difference.....have great day!

Hi Dee :) another great video thank you! I've got a Paph which when I purchased online (approx 6-8mths ago) came to me bare rooted, I potted it up and thought everything was going well but just yesterday I was having a look and one of the fans seemed a little loose in the pot, upon closer inspection it doesn't seem to have any roots at all. I'm going to pull it out of the pot to check the other roots but wondered if you had any tips on saving it without any roots :(

eeek... I wish I had better advice but I've never been able to save any rootless paphiopedilums :( . Surround the base with some moist sphagnum, say a little orchie prayer and cross your fingers is the best I've got!

Hello, Orchie Dee! Very well done! Happy growing! (the dolomite did not see in this pellet/granules). Is it expensive there?) Thanks for sharing!

We would have not known that you did not change your gloves, unless you told us. You could have in between.
