- In this video we take a power wheel that was missing the remote control and install a whole new aftermarket system to get a new remote. This will work for any power wheel that is missing the remote and not obtainable. If you have a power wheel that you would like to make controlled by remote, this works too!

When connecting the wires to the steering motor instead of soldering them you could have just twisted them together and used wire nuts to test the orientation of the wires which would make it easier to just untwist and switch them. Then when you have them correctly oriented you could solder them or use crimp splice connectors and heat shrink.

So I started a project and I don’t this will work for my pink Willy’s Jeep wrangler. Can you help me or do a video on one of those? I bought the things in this video and I’m stuck cuz theres not a steer motor or lights etc. should I scrap this project?
How do you install the steering motor. I can't make sense of mounting the steering motor

What if the power wheels your rewiring doesn't have a steering motor, where would you use steering motor wires that came with the harness?
If you are using this kit and keeping manual steering, just zip tie the wires out of the way. You won't be able to steer from the controller, just forward and backwards. If you're converting to power steering they make this same kit that will come with a steer motor to install
The motor that turns the wheels left or right mine doesn’t have that can I add it
I just bought the rollaway Mercedes GL 450. Apparently it didn’t come with a remote… Any ideas if I can DIY this for a remote? If not gotta return my 3 yo is not ready yikes 😂

I am not real handy. What kind of business can I take my daughter’s power wheels jeep to to do this?
Where can I get the kit to make it remote controlled. I just spent 100 bucks on OfferUp to buy my daughter what I thought was remote controlled. I was told it was and it’s not now I’m stuck if you could help me out. I would greatly appreciate it because I can’t afford a $300 ones.

Does this allow the car to still be driven manually OR does it only work by the remote now?
Both! It cam be driven manually or you can use the remote. The remote also has a kill switch on it so if your little one is starting to drive by themselves and head toward the street or something you can shut it down off the remote

Can you turn the speed up using the controller
Rc Snakemadness the remote has 3 adjustable speeds, the speed controller can also be adjusted to tun down the voltage and slow it down further

I just recently did a M18 battery swap on the same model of Jeep but I did not use an inverter I just disconnected the old battery, connected some butt connectors, and hooked it up to the Milwaukee battery. Everything seems to work just fine except it won't turn right on the controller. Can you help?
Sounds like you might have a bad controller. Search weelye controller on amazon and you can probably replace the controller for 20 bucks or less
@@ronagarage512 well before I did the battery swap the controller worked just fine.
Everything works on it except when I push turn right the steering wheel won't turn right from the controller. It will turn left but it won't turn right
Will this work on the 12v Jeep gladiator battery powered? it is currently not remote controlled
It will work. There are different kits on amazon. Most of the power wheels have power steering, if it does, the kit I used will work. If it doesn't have a steering motor you can buy a kit that comes with one

I just bought a jeep and it dont come with remote control so do i need to swap the whole wires ?
If the controller in the jeep is the same as the one in the new kit then you won't need to swap the harness
@@ronagarage512 there is no controller came with it the kid basically have to knw how to drive it but my nephew is only 2
@remixz23 by controller I mean the box mounted under the seat. The brain box if you will. If that is the same style you won't need to swap all the wires, just that box

Yes this is a 12 volt kit and will require at least 9 volts
So I have the new 12v battery on but nothing is happening
Doesn't power up at all? Maybe check and verify the charging Potlatch is connected correctly as that is the ground side of the battery
I think it’s the controler in the car since I put a inline 10amp fuse and it keeps blowing every time

@@paigeseibert3873 I didn't get a chance to buy it. Dude up the road was selling one for $50 but I didn't pick it up because I didn't have a place to store it/wasn't fast enough on asking about it. Haven't found another in my area unless it's new unfortunately. But the logic is sound what he accomplishes in this video.
$50 is a steal. We were lucky to get ours from a friend for free. Just the cost of driving 25 hours round trip to pick it up. Well wish us luck trying get it converted.

This should work for any 12 volt power wheel with an electric steer motor
Syper upset cause its not not power wheels its only power wheels with steer motors
They sell a kit that comes with a power steering motor. You can literally convert any of them just like this, but in your case you'd have to add the electric steer motor

Will the conversion work for huffy ride on 6V cars?
I'm not sure, I think you'd need to upgrade to a 12 volt battery as 6 volts would be too low to turn on the controller but the 6 volt drive motors should hold 12 volts just fine. The controller is usually the first part to go with higher voltage
Bought a used 6v car. I’m going to need to put this harness in because it needs a remote control. In addition, the 6v runs very slow in the yard and want to upgrade from 6v to 12v battery. Will this same harness work with a 12v battery upgrade?

Ive got a bmw k1300s bike ride on forbmy toddler but eanna make it remote controlled too. Think the kit you hsve would function the same for it? It has 3 speeds built in vs just a high and low
The kit would work but it would only allow for a high and low speed manual switch. The remote can set 3 different speeds though

Correct. I just assumed most come with the steering motor already in them as a power assist but could be wrong. I know the kit I used also has a kit out that would come with a steering motor and drive motors if you wanted them
