I started Rona Garage when covid19 took over everyone's lives. I decided to start working out in the garage again on some projects I had. The first being my 1982 GMC S15 pickup truck. I had most of the parts for the truck but never had the time. I completed the ls 6.0 4l80e swap on the truck in no time and decided not to stop there. I figured if building cars was a passion of mine, others may find it interesting too. I often get a lot of questions as to what I'm working on or building so I decided not to tell everyone, but rather break out the camera and bring you along!

LED Lighting upgrade to my duramax

In this video, Im updating all the lighting in my daily driven truck. My 2004 duramax had some typical gm taillight failure, and was due for a more modern look. Every cat eye duramax should have come with these lights in my opinion. This is more of a how to incase anyone is looking to upgrade the headlights or tailights on their silverado too!

Much needed repairs to my LLY Duramax

In this episode I make a few repairs to my 2004 LLY Duramax. I replace the worn out steering column bushing and intermediate steering shaft, a temp door actuator, and change the coolant out. Thankfully the clunking noise Ive been hearing while turning and going over bumps is now gone!

Any of them can be converted as long as you buy the right kit. If you flip it over look for a motor at the bottom of the steering column. If there is, buy the kit linked, if not itll require a little more modification but they sell kits for it
I don’t believe it does. It doesn’t have a radio either.
Mine has that is electronic, front lights, horn, forward/reverse. One rear wheel motor. I’ve tried to upload pics but it won’t let me.
I just don’t like the battery mounted on the bottom. I mounted my grandsons in the cab right under his legs

Yeah i usually upgrade those right off the rip now. The first one i did the board caught on fire after about 2 mins of running

So I started a project and I don’t this will work for my pink Willy’s Jeep wrangler. Can you help me or do a video on one of those? I bought the things in this video and I’m stuck cuz theres not a steer motor or lights etc. should I scrap this project?
In order to put in a parental control do I have to remove all other wiring?
Did you have any problems with the bulkiness of the back of the lights and it wouldnt fit in the housing? My 69 el camino is having that issue. Got the buckets cut and still not wanting to fit. Keeps hitting the inside where the buckets sit
What if the power wheels your rewiring doesn't have a steering motor, where would you use steering motor wires that came with the harness?
If you are using this kit and keeping manual steering, just zip tie the wires out of the way. You won't be able to steer from the controller, just forward and backwards. If you're converting to power steering they make this same kit that will come with a steer motor to install

It will work. There are different kits on amazon. Most of the power wheels have power steering, if it does, the kit I used will work. If it doesn't have a steering motor you can buy a kit that comes with one

You just have to pull the pins out of the connector and put them back into the correct position for the board, don’t cut and splice if you don’t have to.

Sorry I was an idiot and didn’t realize the voltage controller was all the way down. I turned it to 1/4 and it works now thank you so much. I did notice on one of the drive motors when I stopped accelerating there was a very very small spark. I’m not sure if that is expected or not. I’m recharging the 12v stock battery fully and gonna try it and see if that sparks too. Any thoughts? Thanks for everything again
All good lol I've never seen mine spark but if they are a brush style motor that's normal

Yes sir. The milwaukee battery will be around 21 volts fully charged but even when it drops to 18 it will still power it fine.

@@paigeseibert3873 I didn't get a chance to buy it. Dude up the road was selling one for $50 but I didn't pick it up because I didn't have a place to store it/wasn't fast enough on asking about it. Haven't found another in my area unless it's new unfortunately. But the logic is sound what he accomplishes in this video.
$50 is a steal. We were lucky to get ours from a friend for free. Just the cost of driving 25 hours round trip to pick it up. Well wish us luck trying get it converted.

@@ronagarage512 hi sir. So connected a bosch 18 v 1,5ah + fuse 10a + rx30 b + 2 motors 12v . When the kid press the pedal it burns the fuse. Is too small or something else happening? I tried with the original 12v and without fuse it works normally...

They came on the power wheel
@@ronagarage512 thanks! I guess the new model doesn't have spacers they just made the drive motor longer. For anyone doing this upgrade I used 3/4 pcv cut 1" between the motor and bracket to make it work. Also the rx30 doesn't like less than 18v for me. I give it the full 20.5v and use the speed setting on the controller. Everything is working great thanks again!

I'm not sure, I think you'd need to upgrade to a 12 volt battery as 6 volts would be too low to turn on the controller but the 6 volt drive motors should hold 12 volts just fine. The controller is usually the first part to go with higher voltage
Bought a used 6v car. I’m going to need to put this harness in because it needs a remote control. In addition, the 6v runs very slow in the yard and want to upgrade from 6v to 12v battery. Will this same harness work with a 12v battery upgrade?

Are you running the rx30 with a single m18 battery? I heard the rx30 needs a full 24 volts. What voltage range is the jeep operating at? Thanks!
Yes just a single m18. Frest battery voltage sits around 21volts, levels around 19 volts
@@ronagarage512 thanks for the reply! Any idea what the minimum voltage it would still run at? I'm planning on using an m18 battery with low voltage cutoff and voltage controller to regulate the max speed because my kid might not be ready for full speed yet. Would dialing the voltage down to 14v be too low for the rx30?
@sactime 14 volts might be too low, I've seen it go down to 16 volts and it was moving pretty slow then (in comparison) you should be able to dial down the voltage and get a safer speed out of it, just not sure about 14 volts

@sactime shouldn't be. I put my 18 month in it will full juice lol but we used the remote to control him. 16 volts should be good. Not sure if you have a high low speed switch on the power wheel too but you could use that to slow it down some more on 16 volts if need be

This should work for any 12 volt power wheel with an electric steer motor
How do you install the steering motor. I can't make sense of mounting the steering motor
This guy is taking a ride on car already designed for electric steering and basically re-adding it. Most real powerwheels brand cars do not have electric steering and trying to make clearances for a motor and gearbox is huge project. He adds it to one car and acts like it will work for any car. The motors forward/reverse/brake can be added relatively easy however. But if you want full remote control and your car doesn't already have steering, you're prob better to save the headache and buy another brand unless you are extremely capable and have free time.
Its actually really easy, if you buy the kit with the steer motor. Ive done 2 where we had to add the steer motor and not alot of modifying was needed. Ill try to pick up another power wheel without it and do a video soon. But it can be done to any powerwheel

Same controller will work. It has an additional spot to plug in another motor

They sell a kit that comes with a power steering motor. You can literally convert any of them just like this, but in your case you'd have to add the electric steer motor

I wish I could see what power and negative supply wire you are connecting to the motor input. Mine will only work forward but disconnects when it’s backwards.

Yes this is a 12 volt kit and will require at least 9 volts

Doesn't power up at all? Maybe check and verify the charging Potlatch is connected correctly as that is the ground side of the battery
I think it’s the controler in the car since I put a inline 10amp fuse and it keeps blowing every time

If the controller in the jeep is the same as the one in the new kit then you won't need to swap the harness

@remixz23 by controller I mean the box mounted under the seat. The brain box if you will. If that is the same style you won't need to swap all the wires, just that box

Hey it's me again. Super glad to know you keep an eye on your UA-cam and respond back to commenters. So I have the absolute same exact hook up as you do or did except I didn't put a voltage regulator in it. Is there a way to hook up another Milwaukee adapter for a second battery so that each wheel motor has its own?
Not that I'm aware of. Since the voltage has to go through the controller. They may make a controller that would do that but I haven't seen one
