Lakeview Trail
While on Grunt's shakedown, we hit the new trail at Uwharrie. This is a brand new trail, just opened in 2023. At this time, there are no obstacles except for one little rock garden. Really nothing to it. A stock Sport or maybe a built Bronco should have no trouble. LOL!
Seriously though, it's a nice trail and should be great for beginners to get their feet wet. Though, I can see in the future, after a hurricane or 2 and the washout that comes with them.....this trail (COULD) get real nasty.

Grunt Shakedown

After a year, Em's TJ is back off road! It was a long build, mostly due to supply issues. But, we were able to work around it, and what you see in this video is the end result. Is it the baddest TJ on the road....? NOPE. Is it a GREAT balance of daily driver and weekend warrior...? I think SO. We didn't do anything too technical. The main point of this trip was to check clearances in off road s...

Vicseed Magnetic Phone Mount

I'd been looking at a new way to mount my phone in the ole Ram, and a magnetic mount seemed to be the way to go with the VERY limited available options. Since I was looking in that direction anyway, and it was gonna be free, I said "Sure, I'll do a review video". In...

Antirock swaybar install on Jeep TJ

#rockjock4x4 This week, we install the Antirock swaybar by Rockjock on our 2001 TJ, GRUNT. 12:09 you are a life saver sir I thought I ordered the wrong clamp from Rusty's. Because I couldn't find ANY information anywhere on how to install the damned thing. It just didn't make sense to mount it to a tie rod end vs the conventional method where you clamp the stabilizer to the tie rod itself. I assume the other end of the falcon mount to the axle no need for special brackets?

    • @ShockWaveOffroad
      @ShockWaveOffroad 5 днів тому

      @@ghernandez6457 So, it all depends. If your stabilizer is mounted in the stock location (like mine is), the other end mounts to the front of the fad. If your stabilizer is NOT in the stock location, one end will mount to track bar bracket and the other end mounts to the tie rod. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching and the question! 🤘🏻

      If you loosen the screws to the latch on the door, it'll give you some adjustment. That's the best I can offer, not seeing exactly what you have going on. The latch on the body adjusts too, but I do NOT recommend moving it AT ALL. If you do, you'll have to adjust it back when you put your OEM doors back on. Adjust the tube latch to fit the body latch. Hope this helps!

    if you adjust the tie rod will it fixed the problem toe out like your drawing on photo 3? The wheels are not vertically aligned and adjusting the tie rod will not make any difference to align the toe out to a vertical straight wheel.

    • @ShockWaveOffroad
      @ShockWaveOffroad 2 місяці тому

      Yes. You turn the tie rod one direction and it LENGTHENS the tie rod, which pushes your toe OUT. Turn the tie rod the opposite direction and it SHORTENS the length of the tie rod, which gives you more toe IN. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and the question! 🤘🏻

    Clint, I just appreciate the video for working the cowl cover off. I bought a new replacement for my 6-year-old JL and just finished putting it on. Wanted to make sure I wasn't missing anything with regard to the clips that held the old one on. The wipers were a PITA, but like you I had purchased a puller after reading some forum inputs. Well, actually two. The first was great and worked great on the driver's side wiper arm, but the way the cowl cover is molded around the passenger side it wouldn't work, so ended up getting one like you used. If I'd seen your video first I'd have gone that route up front. I may play around with my cowl cover and do some paint work on it. In the meantime, the new one is on and looks great again.

I would also try some electrical tape on the jaws of the wrench on the freshly painted parts to keep from gouging the paint and having a rusty spot in a few months. The plastic is breaking down under the sun because its not UV stable. Notice how the door handles are lasting longer, the hood latches. Chemicals will cover it for a while. Best to just paint it a satin black or colour match it to the Jeep, and you'll never have to worry about it again. I think Jeep used an inferior plastic because they intended to paint it, but didn't to save money.

    A little measuring tape design. The end is made loose to give you the correct measurement whether you're pulling the tape over an object or pushing the tape up against an object. It is true that abuse will mess this up.

I may or may not try 5 1/4 just to see because those grills on the factory speakers can be pryed off and used as brakets for aftermarket speakers I don't know why crutchfield doesn't tell anyone that but I've done it before and made it work.

    Just what I was looking for thanks for the video. I don't care what anyone says it's 100% worth the price.

      I looked EVERYWHERE for a video when I got mine and couldn't find one. So, I made one. Glad it was helpful to you. And, I agree....totally worth the price. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻

    Thanks for the video. Mine are clicking so bad it sounds like ratcheting. Going to load them up with grease and see if it helps. If not time for rebuild.

    What year was this TJ? I have not been able to find a front cat (flowmaster) for less than $700! How did you get yours for $230?!? Thanks, Mike

      So, the wife's TJ is a 2001. If you'll read previous comments, a LOT of people have commented that the price has gone up significantly. When first I found out, I went and verified that it had gone up. I have no explanation other than Trump was in office at the time we replaced hers. Sorry, that's my best guess. Thanks for watching tho, and the question. Wish I had something better to tell you.🤘🏻

    1 year and 4 month and these suckers are worn out on the passenger side . I did 2 trails only over that period. Dynatrac refused to warranty them

      Whoa!! First time I've heard of these failing. I've had mine almost 4 yrs now. Curious to hear why they wouldn't warranty them. Thanks for the info!

      @@ShockWaveOffroad they have only 1-yr warranty.
