  • It's been a while, but I hope this video fills in some gaps. We've been working on GRUNT for a few months now, and we've got several other projects going on at the same time. Hope y'all hang around. It's been an awesome experience with this whole UA-cam thang, Jeep On!!

    Good to see you didn't drop off the face of the earth. Dealing with supply problems here too. Been seven months since we finished the move to Az and are still waiting for the permit for the shop. Contractor clames he can get the steel, but we'll see. The wife is chomping at the bit to get started on the 51 Willys wagon but can't do much with no place to work. Between the monsoons and the heat it's pretty hard to shade tree it. Especially since I don't have a tree.
    Wife loves the rock sliders on her JL, thanks again for the install vid. Good luck with the build.

      "Especially since I don't have a tree..." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Thanks, buddy. That made me laugh!! Yeah, supply issues are a serious pain in the ass. Has put our build WAY behind. We anticipated being done the first of August, but now it looks more like first of Oct. Hopefully we'll get our permit next week. Concrete guy is ready and waiting. Contractor said shop will be up at least 10 days after concrete is poured. So, at least we've got THAT to look forward to, LOL! Appreciate your support of the channel!!🤘🏻

    Great to see you again! Losses in life do suck, no denying. But life must go on! Looks like you have been more than busy enough to keep your mind occupied. Looking forward to your future vids and thanks for being you and keeping it real. And FJB!

    I’ve thought time and time again about making a UA-cam channel. I don’t do a ton of building and a ton of wheeling to constantly have content every week, but at least once a month. But my biggest thing is how difficult it would be to film and do all that as well. So I understand. Glad to see another video though

      I really enjoy doing it. I can't monetize because Google Adsense keeps denying my application and I can't figure out why. Never expected to retire off YT anyway. You gotta wear yoga pants and show cleavage, LMAO!! To make REAL money on YT, you need 100k+ subs anyway. I'm just having fun and trying my best to have an authentic channel that has some value for those that might be new to owning a Jeep. That said, it (IS) very time consuming. Anything that you video takes twice as long. Then, you have editing, which when I first started took me on average 6 hrs to edit a 10 min video. Obviously, I've gotten a lot faster at the editing process. But, if you have some computer skills to start with, it probably won't be that hard for you, LOL! I appreciate the support man, I really do. Got another vid already loaded up for next Fri, so watch out for that. I think it's one of the more valuable vids I've done. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!!🤘🏻

    Glad your back on, sorry for your loss. Can’t wait to see your build. I have to build my front axle also and just hate to try and find a axle since I have my 4:88 in the 30 up front I that I have only 2,000 miles on, have been looking for a 44 take off for my jk cause I believe my 4:88 that are in my 30 will fit in a 44 take off, I had to buy a new carrier for the 4:88 in the 30. I don’t know if it would be better to truss/gusset the 30 or find a 44 and swap out the gears and be done

    • @ShockWaveOffroad
      @ShockWaveOffroad  2 роки тому

      If you truss, gusset and sleeve a JK D30, you should be fine. The TJ D30 is considerably weaker than the JK D30. I know lots of people in JK's wheeling 37's on built D30's. At this point, it's probably the cheapest and best route since 44 take offs are so damn expensive. Appreciate the continued support for the channel!!🤘🏻

    how does grunt drive with the 4.0 with the 37s? any power issues?

    • @ShockWaveOffroad
      @ShockWaveOffroad  Рік тому

      No sir! Depends on what transmission you have. Grunt is the 3 speed automatic. Runs about 2800 rpm at 65. The 4.88's were the perfect choice for our application. Thanks for watching and the question! 🤘

    did you go with the 489 from ecgs for the front? what width did you have to go with to match the rear jk axle?

    • @ShockWaveOffroad
      @ShockWaveOffroad  Рік тому

      Yes, 4.88 front as well. ECGS built us a JK D44 front. If I remember correctly, JK axles are around 5" wider than TJ axles. So, they just built the front housing to JK specs. Hope this answers your questions. Thanks for watching! 🤘🏻
