    Thanks for the video. Mine are clicking so bad it sounds like ratcheting. Going to load them up with grease and see if it helps. If not time for rebuild.

    Wow. Thanks. I had no idea it was that easy to grease the RCV axle shafts. I thought the orange bell covers had to come off.

    Been having an issue with this. Does the grease fitting depress at all? It doesn’t seem to want to accept the grease.

    • @ShockWaveOffroad
      @ShockWaveOffroad  10 місяців тому

      It does depress, but so little that it's almost undetectable. I would GUESS that it's probably more likely that the end is gummed up. Maybe from dust, dirt, water and/or mud. Especially if you don't run center caps on your wheels. Try spraying a good bit of brake parts cleaner to it and see if that helps. It may also be possible that there's too much grease in there and it just won't take any more. If you've noticed grease oozing from the orange bell cap, I'd say that's probably the issue. Just a theory. Hope this helps. If you're able to identify the issue for certain, I'd love to hear it. Thanks for watching and the question! 🤘🏻

    Thank you Clint. Another great video. You need to touch up those beadlock rings.

    • @ShockWaveOffroad
      @ShockWaveOffroad  2 роки тому

      HAHAHAHA!! Yeah, I'd "planned" to take them all off and have them powder coated over the winter. But, that hasn't happened, YET. The rattle can did not hold up as well as I'd hoped. This go 'round, I think powder coat and touch up will be easier. Thanks for watching and the comment, Bob. Appreciate the support!!🤘🏻

    I AGREE, FJB, Let's go Brandon. I have a clicking sort of noise in the area on mine but can't seem to isolate that's the issue. Only about 10k miles on them.

    • @ShockWaveOffroad
      @ShockWaveOffroad  10 місяців тому

      LOL! For sure FJB!! My only thought would be to grease them and see if it helps. If it (IS) the RCV's, there's really not much that can be done (except grease), other than rebuilding them. It's not too expensive done yourself, but it is a SERIOUS pain in the ass! Personally, I'd just live with it until it needs rebuilt because it's no longer safe to drive. But, that's ME. I'd go ahead and check that your control arms, tie rod ends, drag link, and track bar are all tight. If you have johnny joints in those parts that are worn out, that could be the culprit as well. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching! 🤘🏻

    Thank you for the video! You explained it so a caveman can do it. How often do to grease your axles?

    • @ShockWaveOffroad
      @ShockWaveOffroad  Рік тому

      Depends on how much I drive. Napalm isn't my daily, so (I) throw some grease at mine every 6 months when I do my ususal greasing of control arms, etc. If your Jeep is your daily, I'd grease them monthly. That's (MY) opinion. I'd refer to the RCV website for THEIR recommendations. Glad you liked the vid. Thanks for watching and the comment! 🤘🏻

    U will be disappointed seems like the build quality has gone down in the past years my rcv started clicking 2 months after installing and never took them off road all though I am still driving on that same set 1 year later and I Just keep them greased and the clicking hasn’t gotten worse and it drives the same.

    • @ShockWaveOffroad
      @ShockWaveOffroad  Рік тому

      Seems VERY strange that they'd be clicking that soon. Mine have been on 3 yrs now. I have some minor clicking, but it's barely noticeable. Just keep 'em greased!😁
