    • @DayDreamerVR
      @DayDreamerVR 11 годин тому

      @@bergtfn you could get an ethernet switch-I have one with 5 ports and it was about £10. You can plug your Internet into it, and your PC, and then run an ethernet cable to your headset. If you are close to your PC though, then a USB C cable could be used with the Meta link, or PICO Connect (depending what headset you have). Those are probably the cheapest options. A router could still work in your situation (plug the Internet into a WAN port, PC into a LAN port) but would be more expensive. Hope that helps 👍

      @DayDreamerVR 2 дні тому

      @@wenyanwang219 From my understanding, the Beam was very poorly designed, and they never fixed it, they moved on to their mobile phone device which did it all. So if you want the features the Beam provided, you would have to get their "xreal beam Pro". I haven't used it though, so I don't know how well it performs as a beam, hope that helps 👍

    I am using the Meta Quest 3 with a link cable for simracing games on Steam (AMD GPU). Right now, I do not want to use the OpenXRtool kit and OpenComposite. In most games, I have the option to start in Steam VR or oculus mode. I am uncertain which one is better performance wise. Even when I get the message in oculus mode your HMD is not supported. Is this still better? If so, should the game be started within the Meta environment or in Steam itself? Does anyone have a recommendation and maybe an explanation why? Thank you very much in advance.

      @@Acrux_b23 My main thoughts are: are you connected to the WiFi router on the 5ghz band? Is your pc connected to the router with an ethernet cable? What GPU do you have (needs to be powerful enough and have encoder, some gpu's don't have an encoder), are you close to your router and nothing blocking it like trying to use vr in another room where signal might not be good enough? Is steam open on your PC and does it show/connect? Have you tried virtual desktop app and does that work okay? Hope you manage to sort it, and I'm happy to try and help 👍

      Hi, the performance monitor is found in the PCVR virtual desktop app settings. In the streaming tab it can be found on the far right at the bottom and just gets selected to be enabled. You can then make it appear and disappear by pressing down both thumbsticks. I hope that helps and that you're enjoying VR and your new headset 👍

    Ekran paylaşimi bilgisayara kablo ile bağlanmiyor mu? Modem ve wifi araya koymak göruntu kalitesini olumsuz etkiliyor

    • @DayDreamerVR
      @DayDreamerVR 12 днів тому

      Bilgisayarınıza bağlanmak için bir USB kablosu kullanabilirsiniz, ancak sanal masaüstünü bu şekilde kullanamazsınız. Meta kulaklıklar için Meta Quest Link veya PICO cihazlar için PICO Connect kullanmanız gerekir. Ancak, bir USB veri aktarımı görüntüyü yine de sıkıştırır ve tıpkı wifi'nin yaptığı gibi aktarır, bu nedenle wifi'nin sağlayabileceği görüntü kalitesini verir, ancak iyi bir wifi yönlendiriciniz yoksa USB daha güvenilir olabilir. Wifi yönlendiricinizi nasıl bağladığınız da önemlidir. Burada bulunabilecek başka bir video yaptım: ua-cam.com/video/7ycwzv3XpKU/v-deo.html Yani her iki durumda da, iyi bir wifi yönlendiriciniz varsa (ve pahalı olmak zorunda değil), doğru ayarlar ve kurulumla USB ile olduğu kadar iyi bir deneyim elde etmelisiniz. Umarım yardımcı olur 👍

    I've tried this dozens of times and never got it to work. Firstly cloud XR 3.1 would just end up with a Steam VR critical error. After re-installing steam and Steam VR it was the same. Then I got the latest Cloud XR 4.0 SDK from Nvidia, this allowed me to run Steam VR without the error. However when I run the XR Streaming app on nebula it just wont connect to my PC (the server). I have disabled defender, firewall etc. etc. it just doesn't see it. My Android phone is compatible and I have a ping app which shows I can see the server (my PC) but it will not connect. Any ideas??

    Hello bro, how’s ya lately? I have the chance to get one Pimax 8kX only headset and cable, no base station, joystick, earphone (2075 version, which is AMD gpu compatible TOO) for the price for the price of a brand new Quest 2 equivalent (so, I’m already have a Quest 2 btw) do ya think is it worth today? I usually play normal games in campaign mode, PCVR / UERV and none of FPS competitive stuff (maximum campaign), some of flatscreen games too (as huge monitor) and UA-cam and some Movies. Another question, came from Quest 2 I will feel MASSIVENESS Change in quality and overall use?

    • @DayDreamerVR
      @DayDreamerVR Місяць тому

      @@GoMArkkrAM I'm all okay thanks, you? It sounds like a bargain, and the main positive is that if you do buy it for that price, then you can test it, and if not happy you will be able to sell it and get all your money back, so you cannot lose in this situation 👍 I found the 8kx to be a good headset, especially for sim racing, but you might find it too big and bulky to wear for films etc. Also for pcvr use it takes a lot to run it as it has so many pixels, and has a thing called parallel reprojection which it needs to do for it to work and uses almost more graphics card to do it. I also didn't like the controllers or base stations, if you are used to the Quest 2 then the controller design of the options available to work with the 8kx might feel like a rubbish design and button layout. To test it, if you did get it, then I would recommend looking for an HTC vive with base stations and controllers, used on ebay they are very cheap, and easy to sell again if you don't decide to keep it in the end. I am not a fan or wired PCVR for games where you are standing/walking about etc. The picture quality if set to a high setting will be slightly better than the Quest 2, but will be very hard to run so might need you to reduce the fov, or reduce the quality, and that was me trying with a 4090 I think. So it could be worth a try so you know for yourself, and you won't lose money when you then sell it if you decide it's not enough of an improvement. You might be better selling the Quest 2 and getting a quest 3, you would notice a big improvement there I think, and it would be more comfortable, work better, and have more apps etc still👍

      @@DayDreamerVR Tks pal for the reply in time. Ouch! I was thinking the flatscreen play should be a bliss in terms of quality n performance once a while it’s not very demanding (it’s not a VR session isn’t?). The UEVR (specially Resident Evil, I know is more demanding situation). Dang! I was expecting a really big leap over quality image because it’s 4K per eye and Q2 is only 1832x1920 per eye, but ya said it just “slightly” better….ouch! I will use xbox one controller type to play it (seated), I have no intention to to buy base stations and controllers (the place I live, it is VERY expensive) Ps: yeah! Quest3 is my GOAL, I was planning to get this Pimax to replace with Q3 and playing it until find someone to exchange it. Basically that’s it, but must to confess I was thinking it was more fun to have it lol I will thinking a little bit more I have like 3hours more from now to think about it before drive like 4hours drives to get it, the dude lives pretty much far away from me. Ps: AMD SAPPHIRE RX 7600 OC I will have here to play it, same I use to play Q2 in a very pleasant way must say.

      @DayDreamerVR Місяць тому

      @@GoMArkkrAM so for flat screen it wouldnt be very demanding, but even though it is 4k per eye, it is spread over a massive field of view, so the pixels are only slightly more dense than the Quest 2, and the Quest 3 would be clearer. It is fun to try though and I did love just how different it was!

    • @GoMArkkrAM

      @@DayDreamerVR just did a flash test here and Dang! It’s a totally new approach, 99% different to set things compared to Q2 (way easier must say), I think a regular person can’t make it work by own, it’s developed for pretty much skilled person and it will demand time to figured out how it works. I gave a shot n played a flatscreen and it ran stuttering a lot, I realized the in game settings reflects 100% on headset, in quest not. I have to test which is more demanding, set high resolution/detail on Pimax app and game run more basic config and vice-versa. There is a lot confrontation to make…. So what really bugging me is if I chance configs for the Pimax it will mess with quest/steam configs, if it happens it’s almost impossible to have those headset simultaneously installed on my PC. Anyways, other than that I ran some UA-cam - 4K videos (streamed from my PC) and it is pretty much a giant TV, AMAZING, way better than Q2. I’m didnt tested VR UA-cam videos yet and have no idea how to make that, anyways, at first glance it’s look a pretty solid and wild machine, hard to domestic! • @DayDreamerVR
      @DayDreamerVR Місяць тому

      75Mbps is a good amount to keep latency low with an okay image, but you should still be able to get higher. Have you split the 2.4ghz and 5ghz bands on your router with different names? This is so you know you are connected to the 5ghz band? Although 866Mbps connection indicates your connection bandwidth is fine, so you should be able to get a higher bitrate. When you say you have gigabit ethernet, I take it that is directly between your dedicated router and your PC? HEVC does have a lower maximum bitrate, whilst H264 has a higher max bitrate. For image quality, a 75Mbps HEVC will be better than 75Mbps H264. Looks like this comment may be a little late to the party but I wanted to add my "two cents". I used this video as a guide and ran into a problem of having the fan off or full speed because I tried to wire up a 4pin PWM fan using just the red and black wires. With some digging around I realized that I could add the blue wire to pin 9 which is the pulse width that controls the fan properly and now it works great! I noticed that I could use the Shake It Motors control scheme or the Shake it Wind control scheme. I haven't played with both of them enough to see if one works better than the other but I was so excited to feel the wind on my face while driving around Laguna Seca in GT7 with my PSVR2. I also have a pedal/wheels, and haptics on my rig. Definitely worth the small price for the added immersion. I only rode around in open cockpit cars for testing so I'm not sure if I'll use it with GT3 cars. I'm not on either side of the argument. I'll race around and if it feels weird I may either turn the output down/off for closed cars and back up for the open ones. Thanks again for this video.

      @@walshja81 No problem, glad it was useful and found out how to do it with PWM fans. I'm tempted to set my fans to a constant speed for non open top cars so it is cooling and more like normal car air vents, I haven't done any racing for ages though, but I'm starting to feel the interest coming back again, so will have to play about with the settings etc to see what I can do with the fans. They're definitely needed with the odd hot days in the UK at the moment!

      @@chrishart5474 you could connect a 12v power connection into the fan as well but have a switch on the wire, that way if you have it on the fan should just get power and run, you might need some kind of variable switch or controller in the wire too so you can adjust how powerful it is when it is on. Then when you go back to a game that uses the fan, just turn off that additional power supply with the switch and it should then work off the setup shown in the video. @@chrishart5474 sorry for the late reply, it is a bit of a minefield, it is difficult to find a variable switch that also turns it off. If you use the same 3a power supply, you could either have a second power supply with the positive going to a switch like this amzn.eu/d/jhvsT4j then another wire going from the ground from the fan to that additional npower supplies ground. Or you could use the power supply you are already using, and run an additional wire from the positive wire of the power supply to the switch I linked, then from the switch to the positive on the fan, and then add another wire from the ground wire of the fan and connect it to the ground wire of the power supply. There are various ways you could do this with terminals like Wago terminals, or by soldering, or using the terminals on the motor shield. A variable switch such as this could work amzn.eu/d/09wSCw4m (this includes a switch - but the switch also does a reverse), or a variable motor speed controller like this amzn.eu/d/0beVYjku these will need a positive and negative from the fan, and a positive and negative from the power supply. I haven't tried these particular products themselves, but they look like they should work. Hope they do for you 👍

    Does the render window on the pc effect the performance in the headset? People say it doesnt but i swear i have gotten better performance by taking measures, such as reducing my monitor resloltion or hiding the render window. How can it be that i run my headset at say 80hz and the game windows is running at 120 hz and there is no impact from that? It makes no sense nor can i get a consistent result from my testing

    • @DayDreamerVR
      @DayDreamerVR 2 місяці тому

      It luckily isn't rendering it seperately twice, and usually it won't match the refresh rate of your monitor as far as I am aware-for example if you have your monitor at 144hz but vr at 72 you would see a new frame once every two frames on your monitor. That's an easy frame rate to compare but if it was 90hz in VR and 144 on your monitor then each vr frame will show the next time the monitor refreshes after the VR frame was rendered/presented. It will likely still see a very small amount of extra load having it on your monitor, but it will be small. If your monitor or monitors are stuck at their full refresh rate all the time with a high resolution then that alone will put extra load on your system. So if you lower the resolution or frame rate of your monitor that could save some gpu/cpu etc for VR. Hope that helps 👍
