    Absolutely nothing for the Manchester to Sheffield route, which is slow and has badly needed improvement for years. Even the extra capacity created by the renovation and expansion of Dore station hasn't been picked up by any of the franchises.

    thanks very informative. I know ScotRail are not dft run but operated from the devolved government here. ( I imagine it is the same for TFW) So I imagine these brands will stay separate regardless just like London Overground and other metro services in England. Also worth pointing out that international (Eurostar) services are not changing as these are majority owned by the French state rail company SNCF, but there could soon be more private companies offering international services From London via HS1 with Virgin and Evolyn having plans in the pipeline. HS1 access fees receiving a significant cut last week now makes this more likely than ever.

    I want to see more railways open. U forgot to mention Darlington station is getting a new platforms and a new footbridge to connect to the new platforms. I want to see more railways open lots and lots. I want to see British rail back one in go . The trains are so modern . I miss seeing the loco Hauled trains and shunters shunting parcels.

    Very interesting. So they could do it like the BR divisions in the late 80s up until privatisation? NSE, Regional Railways, Inter City etc. It was actually all coming together & just needed the investment (I started with BR-NSE in 1987). Colour scheme for GBR? I've always detested BR blue & grey. One of my favourite schemes was Inter City Executive. Love the LNER colour scheme, be a shame to see that go. Typically those new seats look horrendous. We had very deep padding, about 8" (20cm in foreign), on the old slam door TC stock, some of those new ones look like it's going to be 8mm 🙄 Some of the best seats were on the pre SWR refurbishment 158s and 159s. At least they kept the 1st (unless they've changed it since I retired).

    Great Info....... 2:40 mins that Bedford/Bletchley line really needs extending - the amount of bus replacements EMR have put on to Hitchin, because of work past Luton. 5:40 mins Yesss the upgrade of EMR on my East Midlands line, I cant wait for this...... And I hope they upgrade the Parkway Connects Services. they are the only trains with no charging sockets.

    The same location fare is deliberate in London to prevent fraud. For example: customer taps in and enters the station, then taps out *without leaving the station", then travels to a distant location that is not gated, and walks past the platform validator without tapping. If TfL did what is being asked here, unscrupulous customers would have an easy way to avoid paying a fare. The simple answer is, don't tap in if you don't intend to travel. Note that same station or different station re-entries are performed in TFL so that if you did decide to travel after being charged a same location fare, you won't be double charged. TfLs business rules have to balance being nice to the customer, and preventing fare evasion.

    I do wonder how simplified country-wide branding would work when it comes to tickets that are cheaper if you take certain operators. Crewe to London is simple since you have "everyone" or "London NorthWestern" which could more easily convert to "regional trains only" or whatever. Crewe to Manchester, on the other hand, has Avanti tickets, TfW tickets, and everyone tickets (Northern and sometimes Crosscountry also do that route). These toc-specific tickets might just stop existing when everyone becomes nationalised or get reallocated to more sensible splits, but I have doubts there will be any change in branding in the long term.

    8:28 I hope those 2024 tube stock trains enter service soon they're heavily over due as our the new DLR trains. The Piccadilly line should've been upgraded years ago I hope that the signaling gets upgraded soon so that the the line can stop at Turnham Green on a regular basis which is what the local residents have campaigned for decades.

    I needed to know why they couldn’t dig a tunnel and do an extension for most of the mainline Trains so that they could extend the unused abandoned underground train stations. Why couldn’t they use the part D78 Stock train doors on the sides and also restructure the front face of the A60 and A62 stock which will include the class 507, class 508, class 313, class 314 and class 315 remix and make them all together and also redesign all of them into an overhead wire line trains and also make most of them into Five carriages per units and also having three Disabled Toilets on those Five cars per units A60 and A62 stock trains and also convert the A60 and A62 stock trains into a Scania N112, Gardner 6LXC, Leyland 510, Cummins M11, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner LG1200 and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Engines and also put the Loud 7 Speed Voith Gearboxes even Loud 10 Speed Leyland Hydra cyclic Gearboxes in the A60 and A62 stock, class 507, class 508, class 313, class 314, and class 315 and also modernise the A60 and A62 stock and make it into 11 carriages per unit so it could have fewer doors, more tables, computers and mobile phone chargers? A Stock Train and 8 Disabled Toilets on those A stock trains. why couldn’t we refurbish and modernise the waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel and make it even much more Larger and extend it to the bank station, making it into a Triple-Track Railway Line so those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden to convert the waterloo and city line Triple-Track Railway tunnel into a High-Speed Railway lines? The Third Euro tunnel Triple-Track Railway line to make it 11 times better for passengers so they could go from A to B. Then put the modernised 11 carriages per unit A Stock and put them on a bigger modernised Waterloo and city line Triple-Track train tunnel so it could go to bank station to those Five countries such as Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. The modernised refurbished 11 carriages per unit A stock could be a High Speed The Third Triple-Track Euro Tunnel Train So it is promising and 47 times a lot more possible to do this kind of project if that will be OK for London Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden. oh by the way, could they also tunnel the Triple-Track Railway Line so it will stop from Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex so that the Passengers will go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also extend the Triple-Track Railway Line from the Bank to Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire and Essex Stations so that more people from there could go to Australia, Germany, Italy, Poland And Sweden more Easily. Why couldn't they extend the Piccadilly Line and also build brand-new underground train stations so it could go even further right up to Clapton, Wood Street can they also make another brand new underground train station in Chingford and could they extend the Piccadilly Line and the DLR right up to Chingford? All of the classes 150, 155, 154, 117, 114, 105, and 106, will be replaced by all of the Gardner 6LXC, Scania N112, Cummins M11, Leyland 510, Volvo B10M, Gardner 6LXB, Gardner LG1200 and Gardner 8LXB Diesel Five carriages three disabled toilets are air conditioning trains including Highams Park for extended roots which is the Piccadilly line and the DLR trains. Could you also convert all of the 1973 stock trains into an air-conditioned maximum speed 78 km/hours (48 MPH) re-refurbished and make it into a 8 cars per unit if that will be alright, and also extend all of the Piccadilly train stations to make more space for all of the extended 8 car per unit 1973 stock air condition trains and can you also build another Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive Companies and can they order Every 87 Octagon and Every 48 Hexagon shape LNER diagram unique small no.13 and unique small no.11 Boilers from those Countries such as Greece, Italy, Poland, and Sweden, can they make Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive speeds by up to 147MPH so you can try and test it on the Original Mainline so it will be much more safer for the Passengers to enjoy the 147MPH speed Limit only for HS2 and Channel Tunnel mainline services, if they needed 16 Carriages Per units, can they use those class 55’s, class 40’s and class 43HST Diesel Locomotive’s right at the Back of those 18 Carriages Per Units so they can take over at the Back to let those Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s have a rest for those interesting Journeys Please!!!!!!!!, oh can you make all of those 18 Tonne Boxes of Coal for all of those 147MPH Mayflower and Tornado Steam Locomotive’s so the Companies will Understand us PASSENGER’S!!!!!!!! So please make sure that the Builders can do as they are told!!!!!!!!!!!! And PLEASE do something about these very very important Professional ideas Please? Prime Minister of England, Prime Minister of Australia, Prime Minister of Sweden, Prime Minister of Germany, Prime Minister of Italy, Prime Minister of Poland and that Includes the Mayor of London.

    Great British Railways needs to succeed since not much is going well for Labour at the moment and this is one of the few issues where most of the public agrees with them on. Here's hoping Starmer won't abandon it since he thinks it's going to end up being too expensive.

    As someone who works frontline for a nationalised TOC, we’ve been told that nothing will really change. Brands such as LNER, TPE and Northern will survive, but under public ownership. We’ve already started the automatic ticket acceptance between the nationalised TOCs in the event of cancellation/major disruption. This will grow as the franchises are brought under the state. All in all, even those of us inside don’t know what will happen - the Gov haven’t been particularly clear on what it will look like.

      I also think they're not going to spend any money on rebranding everything, we already have a national logo across stations. Perhaps they'll just do what the existing TOCs do which is wait for a station/train fleet to need a refurb then make any branding changes. You still see Network SouthEast things on some parts of the network down here, if the TOCs didn't repaint poles, why would the new GBR! :)

    One line that needs significant improvements is the birmingham to peterborough line. Constantly overcrowded, not frequent enough and just a terrible service. Cross country is the only one that operates it and the 170's need significant improvements. I think EMR could do this line even better or cross country just need to improve it overall. Good video though top notch!

    I think that 2025 will be all about HS2, new railway stations to open including Cambridge South and Beaulieu Park. More new trains to be built and new trains enter service this year. Proposals of the East-West Rail link to extend from Bedford to Cambridge. And so much more is happening in 2025.

    I guess I am too old. The 4 VEP’s which the 455’s and 508’s replaced on the new line were much more comfortable and rode better. The 4CEP’s which were replaced by the 450’s were more comfortable but did not have A/C and the 442’s were in a totally different class to the 444’s . Now Southwestern Railway downgrading the First Class on 444’s has further destroyed passenger value. The old Class 50 service on the withered arm was more comfortable than the 159’s in First Class, were quieter and dud not smell of diesel. That said the 159’s are by far the only comfortable current multiple unit on SWT. The Class 50’s were also unsuitable for the hobbled withered arm being designed for high speed work and as a result were unreliable. Having a back problem the Class 159’s are the only service I can travel on as they reclining seats from pre SWT days in first class. So I scrap them all. I would like to see a third rail hybrid 800 series in place of the 444’s and 159/158’s. Maybe a new design for the 450’s and something modern to replace arterios.

    I hope Great Western Railway keeps its branding, it gives pride to the Westcountry as well as honour the historical significance of railway travel to the South West. Having a unified brand would remove the cultural impact of travelling on the SDML and CML.

    We have been waiting for the Farnborough North station to be relocated just up the lie to a more relevant location of Farnborough gate where a new Frimley, rail air station will be relocated urgently.. Whilst the reinstatement of the Frimley junction branch at Frimley junction will provide direct access from Frimley to London Waterloo.

    Nice video. I wonder if the class 376 refurbs will see the reintroduction of class 465/2's on the network for a little bit. If not I'm guessing it will be class 465/9's coming from the Tunbridge Wells route but it would be nice to have back our 465/2's.

    An important point is that GBR will only apply to TOC's in England controlled by the DfT. Transport for Wales will continue to be operated and controlled by the Welsh Government and ScotRail will continue to be operated and controlled by the Scottish Government, neither will be rebranded as GBR or become part of it. Only operators that operate within England and to/from England into Wales & Scotland will become part of GBR. Northern Ireland is an entirely separate system and won't become part of GBR

    I would rather they replace the central line than Piccadilly. The central line trains are the only tube line I feel sick on due to the windows and the heat

    I hope the new branding carries over to the tube map, where it's mentioned the types of services there are at interchange stations, so instead of just saying "change for national rail services" it might say "change for GB Rail Southwest services" for example

    Thank you for an informative video. I hope the new nationalisation will be different from the previous British Rail, which was grossly underfunded for many years.

    What's coming, a train that isn't cancelled or at least on time, trains are a joke, ask the Dutch how to run them.
