I love this album, but I prefer the “Brian Wilson Presents Smile” version. I’m sure a lot of people would disagree with me because you don’t have all of The Beach Boys’ vocals, but man, it’s so connected and produced so well.

This one takes time!!

This is the kind of album that deepens the more you listen to it. The "dark side of the moon" represents what we hide and fear - how we deal with the pressures we face within and outside ourselves. Are we sane, connected, or just barely holding on? It's about the push and pull between light and dark, chaos and peace, and how greed, time, and isolation shape our lives. It’s haunting because the themes speak to what we all feel and experience but rarely talk about. The cover art ties in to these themes perfectly. The prism refracting light into a rainbow mirrors how light and dark, order and chaos, are part of the same whole. It’s also a visual representation of how we experience reality: fragmented, complex, and layered. The black background symbolizes the hidden, the unknown, while the rainbow suggests the possibility of clarity and understanding, even in a world full of confusion and complexity. There's a reason why this album stayed on the Billboard Top 200 for 741(!) weeks. That's more than 14 years. Hell, it still sells more than 8,000 copies a week. It's a work of art, top to bottom. Cinematic, as you say. Try listening some time with the lights off...

One thing that always impressed me about Dylan is how he can make some of the simplest rhymes, but they sound interesting and novel.
