Why MotoGP Tyres Allow Riders to Corner at INSANE Speeds
Переглядів 2,3 тис.3 місяці тому
Motorbike racing tyres are smooth almost all of the time. Which are more commonly known as slicks. They don't have any tread or grooves on them. But if you look at every bike on the road, you'll see that they all have tread some grooves on them.

In MotoGP, KTM, Ducati, Honda and Aprillia all have something in common, they all run V4 Engines. Yamaha is now the only team on the grid that runs an Inline 4 and an Inline 4 engine hasn’t won a single race in MotoGP since 2022. Funny how Aprilia's engine on paper sounded like a domination machine and ended up terribly bad whereas Honda was the other way around
How is a V5 "a different direction ENTIRELY" lol "entirely would be running a rotary or something not simply 5 rather than 4 cylinders.....just saying
Bike wasnt useless. You need to do more research
That meet and great with the tarmac was hilarious😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think its more bureaucratic crap that spoils racing
It's still unbeatable

Motogp bikes have additional braking system which similar to a handbrake = thumb brake. Unlike any streetbikes
Well articulated. Thank you.
There is no too complicated. Only people which are too dump to solve a damn problem. Face it guys.
Saved!!! Good info. Thank you
Are you recording in a bathroom?
Really interesting, especially sillustrating difference between good race car engine v bike. ( do find it ironic a reasons given why 2-strokes were dropped included engines were becoming too powerful & uncontrollable = Aprilla “hold my beer” 250hp😳...😂)
A loose gas cap was the source for the fire, confirmed by Colin Edwards
Um, no it is the torque applied that lifts the front wheel.
So basically cosworth made a crap engine
I max out at 48 degrees and even that feels insane. 64?!?!? That’s just bonkers
Dear aprilia(Cause youre definitly reading youtube comments) go back and remake this bike with modern components please. -Signed Random on the internet
The Dream Engine!!!
0:55 no you don't.
Asymmetrical shape
Pnematic valve springs RIbe by wire ? Cosworth several years in F1 ! Several decades more like . Man the spelling on this vid is as bad as the info.
No one was cheating . The tires are over heating and the teams where lowering pressure so the high heat did not blow tires . FYI manufacturers did not lower pressurers enough to gain an advantage of higher grip
Michlein acts like they they know something when all the did is engineer and build every aspect of the tire...how the hell does that make them the expert obviously riders and team techs know better....who cares if they no nothing about the chemistry and engineering
2005 never raced and…it was also rubbish? What a dick!😅
Great video!!! The bike might be a piece of shit but it looks amazing and the sound was even better!!!!
Who made the engine for the Mille R-SP again ?
Pretty sure Ilmore (noted CART & F1 engine builder, later became Mercedes F1 powertrain) did a similar thing @ roughly the same time..?
I'm sure Yamaha is developing an 850cc V4 right now for the 2027 regulations.
Still feel like they should be allowed to choose there own tyre company
As an F1 fan,I CAN'T ESCAPE REDBULL
I was at Donington in 2002, watching Regis Laconi fighting hard on that bike, toasting anyone’s nose who got close under brakes as the Aprilia shot 4ft flames out the back! 😂 What an animal! It sounded absolutely incredible, like no other 3cyl before or since! Colin Edwards’ summary that it was “Born Bad” was absolutely spot on…
and now they produce the Aprilia MotoGP rocketship
Didn't VW also make a V5? Not sure why they did it.
Which commercial motorcycle has a V4?
When?? The Italian brands cheat like hell and the fim helps them. The fim can't stand how dominant the Japanese brands have always been so they helped Aprilia and Ducati get to the front. Why do you think that as soon as they enforced the "controlled ECUs", all of a sudden Ducati and Aprilia had the most horsepower by some margin. Its a joke, look at the fims bias in formula one with Ferrari, Ferrari gets away with murder
They should build a 2+4 stroke engine combined. Two 250 cc cylinders running 2-stroke and three 330 cc cylinders running 4-stroke. On the same crankshaft.
Would a bit more mass on the crank have helped the electronics manage the power delivery much better? Surely today’s advanced electronics would have no trouble taming such a thing. Everyone who races motorcycles understands it’s not bout how much power you have, it’s how much you can use, especially while on the edge of the tire.
Maybe they should have looked at the failure of the Norton Cosworth, before going to Cosworth for another chopped down F1 motorcycle engine.
U forget to say they start this adventure with Dunlop in an era when having Michelin was 1second better. Bike was a masterpiece of aero, engine and electronics.
Sorry....but you talk BS.
A heavier flywheel would have solved the problem
Sounded good and looked good though 👍🏿
