      If you mean the cross sign next to his name, it doesn't mean he passed away. It means he won at least one world championship in lower classes (125cc/Moto3 or 250cc/ Moto2) but never in premier class (500cc/MotoGP). It's in the description on that webpage.

      Some race horses are lighter and faster BECAUSE they lack bone density.....so they win races! Until they break....then they are put down....luckily they dont put down human racers lol they just fix the breaks and carry on after healing ....horses dont have the luxury of laying around sadly...just saying maybe a small part of Dani's speed was low body weight due to lower bone density??

    I think he stayed too loyal to Honda. I just don't think he gelled with the really aggressive bikes they built. Had one or two chances in his career to switch to Yamaha. Probably would have been a better fit.

    • @mikenogen
      @mikenogen 2 місяці тому

      Yeah, he's biggest mistake was staying too long on a Honda. He was supposed to be Rossi's succesor when he left for Ducati but it didn't happened. He also had a chance to move in 2013 but then Rossi came back to Yamaha. By the time he went to KTM, it was way passed his prime.
      I remembered there's an interview where Dani said that he could've had a championship if only he went to Yamaha that time

    • @kjpr00
      @kjpr00 2 місяці тому +1

      @mikenogen All good points. Pedrosa was also SRT'S first pick to be on the Petronas Yamaha in 2019 instead of Fabio Quartararo. Meaning he could have been on a bike Fabio won 3 races on and a team that won 6 races and legit fought the factory teams for the title in the 2020 season. Who knows how things would have been different, but it's an intriguing situation to think about.

    With regards to 2012, although Misano was very unfortunate for Dani, it is also worth mentioning that Lorenzo was taken out by Bautista at Assen that year, as well as having that bizarre situation with Ellison at Valencia. Lorenzo did not finish lower than 2nd outside of those races all year, so I think the only way you would be able to say Dani should have won it would be to remove his bad luck but retain at least some of Lorenzo's, which is inconsistent

  • @AnReO
    @AnReO 2 місяці тому

    There's been quite some discussion in Spain about his missfortune in motogp. Many say it's just the bad luck, but there's also the argument that his tiny body worked against him to become successful in such powerful and big bikes. Many of the accidents were provoked by the fatigue for the extra work he had to put, and the damage he suffered from the crashes would be smaller if we would have been a bigger driver.
    Anyways, him jumping in current motogp at 38 and even beating some ducati riders already tells you not only how genius of a driver he is, but also what a monster the previous generation of drivers they were...

    Being recognized as the best to never win a world championship is no bad thing. Stirling Moss made a living off of being the best F1 driver to never win a Championship for decades, and arguably stayed more prominent in the public eye than any of the championship winners he competed against (Maybe not Fangio, but the others?)...

    He was liked and respected throughout the paddock and by the fans. You could see that when he got 4th in his KTM wildcard ride which the fans celebrated as if it was a win. Great video but you forgot the most important thing about Dani, and is that his biggest problem in Motogp unlike in the lower categories was his body and height, he was very small and underweight and that obviously doesn't help you and hurts you a lot when it comes to taming the beasts that were the 800cc MotoGPs, in 125 and 250 he crushed everything because those bikes were perfect for his height, if he were a little more bigger and stronger like Marc for example, he would have marked a glorious era in Motogp and would have been much more scary than he already was as a rider.

      Honda was always a dangerous bike but I think they stopped fixing because of Marc Marquez good result instead of listening to other riders and fixing the problem. Now looking at gp23 everyone is suffering but Marc somehow make it work. Gp23 is not devloped for Marc only but among all gp23 riders only marc is competitive. In 2019 once media asked to Marc about how good the bike is and he said bike have many problems but it was marked by my results but if you see my teammate they are suffering and we need to fix that problem for next year.

    If Dani had been 20cm taller and 10kg heavier he would have been champion in Moto GP at least once. But he wasn't and his career is a textbook example of being too small for a sport. Lots of wiggles and wobbles that a heavier rider (Rossi, Stoner etc) would have kept hold of launched Dani into space. It wasn't his fault, he was simply too light of a weight on the end of the lever, instead of acting as a damper, he acted as the projectile.

      That makes no sense, Nicky Hayden was the Rider he crashed out. Nicky Hayden WON the 2006 Championchip.

      @@killroy2014 My point was Pedrosa's poor race craft at Estoril NEARLY cost Hayden the championship, that's not something a teammate does when they're several positions back in the overall standings and not really in contention.

      Nailed it and said almost the same thing. He even blamed Nicky for it and has never taken responsibility. Karma.

    He was NOT considered an alien during his career, it's only the lately muppets exaggerate his ability. His "bad luck" was to ride against the real aliens...Stoner, Rossi, Lorenzo & Marquez.
    DP was not a complete rider....he had no killer instinct & was willing to follow & be satisfied with a lesser placing where the aliens would never settle. He was never a threat in rain races.
    He was blessed with being Honda's #1 rider with the best equipment even when Hayden was WC & the bikes he rode often flattered his lack of aggression. His weight & stature also gave him an advantage in acceleration & aerodynamics. He crashed WAY too often & was fragile.
    Everyone on the starting line has the same chance to win or crash, it's not luck that gets you the victory...the champions put themselves in the position to best take advantage of the circumstances. Dani was never the best...that's all there was to it.
