    lol. Yah, I honestly don’t know why they didn’t dub Nick’s voice for the French parts. It’s pretty laughably bad, bless him. But he tried. Reminds me of when Joe scoffed at Kit in an interview when Kit says oui and he thinks that makes him good. Lol by the way, I live in Quebec also but my French is as bad as Kit’s… so who am I to judge?🤣

      The point of Nick's French not being perfect is that he only sees his Dad twice a year, and probably only for a few hours each time at the most. So his French isn't going to sound as good as a person who speaks and hears French with native speakers daily.

    • @guihuppe
      @guihuppe День тому

      That would make sense IRL. But that's not how the show portrays Nick's bilingualism. In Heartstopper Season 2, Nick is portrayed as being perfectly bilingual. The show goes as far as saying Nick has no accent when speaking French, which is not the case 🥴

      @@guihuppe I didn't get that in the show. The French ice cream vendor said his French is "very good" not "perfect." The kids, like Zahar and Charlie, think he's great at speaking it, but they don't even take French. 🙂

      Yes but in the context of this scene, I think it's an allusion to the elephant in the room. The show's executive producer said “If you listen really, really carefully, you can hear Isaac explaining to Nick the story of Radio Silence as Tao and Elle are talking about Nick and Charlie,”

I don't think any of the criticism of this series or books is justified - in the same way none of the behaviour towards Kit was justified either. I absolutely LOVE this show, and cant eait for Season 3 to come out! Some people call it "sanitized" or "unrealistic" or whatever, but I for one think we need more LGBT media that's sweet and wholesome (and not horribly tragic or over-sexualized) like this. If i had media like this 15 years ago when I was in highschool, my self-worth and ideas of love and sexuality might've been a little different... Not trying to bkame all my problems onto TV shows or anything (lol) but media has a big influence on us (particularly as young adolescents), and it would've been so nice to see such a sweet depiction of queer love at that age.

      Also, GREAT note on "highschool parties." My Mom was the same way (she's not stupid), and knew what was up. She may not have necessarily _wanted_ a call from me at 1am or whatever, but I always knew it was an option if I was in trouble or needed her, and I think that actually helped me stay _out_ of trouble sometimes. She always kind of had that mentality, but I think it was actually someone from Church (🫣 lol nothing against Church at its core) who validated her thoughts of "you were a teenager once, and you know they're gonna do it regardless, so instead of getting mad or shaming them, it's better for you to just be there for them, support them, and then talk to them about it afterwards" or something to that effect. And she also always said "Id rather you just be in the house or at a friend's house whose parents I trust, than worry about you running the streets and not knowing what you're up to" (which kinda just makes me think of that scene in Mean Girls where Amy Poehler says "why, do you wanna little? Because if you're gonna drink I'd rather you do it in the house," but less satirical LMAO)

      Great comment, and I 100% agree. I’m a little bit older than you, and your comment about media influencing our notion about what is ideal and what to strive for is spot on. Media strongly influences our perceptions of the world around us. For example, watching the news or listening to some politicians you’d think that violent crime is at an all time high and that the US is a crime filled cesspool. The truth is that violent crime has been declining steadily for more than 2 decades with stats from 2022 showing a 50% decline from the early 90s. Also, most LGBTQ storylines 15-20 years ago were written by straight writers who again just reinforced the negative stereotypes. We need more writers like Alice - a member of the queer community helping to change the image of what it means to be gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender. ❤❤

    What ALICENT should confess to RHAENYRA: "I'm lonely because my mom died & you got my only living parent fired for scheming to take the throne away from you. Hell, my father married me to your father for that exact usurpation purpose. I'm too docile to stand up to the real cause of my unhappiness, my father, so I use performative righteousness to attack you out of jealousy because you would reject being controlled to that extent. Your virtue is mine to question, emphasis on YOUR. Your lack of virtue makes you unfit to rule, but my 1st born's sexually predatory behaviour should not be considered before placing him as the rightful king." Valid cases to empathise with her aside, she is an extension of conniving little OTTO who DAEMON sees right through. "A second son (& by extension all THE GREENS) who stand/s to gain nothing he (they) does not (do not) seize for himself (themselves)." TEXTBOOK SNAKE BEHAVIOUR!

    I have two CKCS. Youngest, Bernadette, is 5 month old blenheim, and my other girl, Bridgette, is a 6 year old tricolor. Bridgette was meant to be a therapy/service dog for me for my needle phobia/medical anxiety as I have chronic health issues. That didn't end up working out as planned, and that's okay. She did train herself to get me up at about the same time in the morning after I moved out of my parents' house. I get my face licked until I get up now, which, while annoying sometimes when I'm exhausted, is incredibly helpful all the same. She's really the only reason I have as close to a regular sleep schedule as I can for the first time since I was a child. She was an odd one as a pup. She grew up with other dogs (a boxer and two westies, one older and one younger than her), but she didn't care to play with them. Or with toys, for that matter. She loved food, going out places, people, and cuddles, and that was it. Then came along Bernie. She's super cuddly, loves toys, loves people, and is a bit of a wild child. She wanted Bridgette to play with her so badly when we first got her. Bridgette, however, was scared of her for a bit initially, much like she was with the westie that is younger than her. But slowly, they became friends. All the way up until Bridgette actually started playing with her. Initially, it was just on the couch. And then Bridgette started running with and chasing Bernie outside. In both instances, I was so excited. Having had Bridgette never be one for playing much, her to start doing this was amazing to see. And now it's become a consistent thing. The past few days, Bridgette has been the one to initiate running together outside. They're best friends now.

    When does human life begin? Science says it begins at conception. What is murder? The taking of innocent human life. Abortion ends a human life, a life which did nothing deserving to be ended. Murder is evil. Abortion is murder. Abortion is evil. For extreme cases: A) Most abortions are not from victims of grape, its people who don't take responsibility for their sexual choices. B) Abortion covers crimes, the uncle who graped his niece gets her an abortion and nobody finds out. Killing the child stops really bad situations from being found out. A pregnant 10 yo mandates an investigation. C) Evil means never justify a good end, you can't commit evil for the good outcome. You can't murder even if the death of the person is helpful to you. Same for abortion. You can't end a life, even if carrying the child is inconvenient. Bad things happen to good people, killing a child in the womb isn't the solution. Real men protect life. I stand for the unborn, those neglected who don't even have a voice. I believe women are strong, and I don't think they need to kill their child to have a good life. The fathers need to step up, and women need good support in cases of unplanned pregnancy, but killing the child is not the appropriate solution. If you disagree, please show me how abortion doesn't end an innocent human life. I truly just can't see how it isn't murder, based on reason and science, presupposing that murder is wrong.

If you disagree, please let me know and since we're both trying to be academically honest, I wouldn't mind reading research papers if you have any about it. My mind is open to being changed, but I have seen no evidence that life begins later than conception (aka fertilization).

    Honestly I don't do a lot political talk, I dislike it. However when it comes to abortions there should be exceptions. A 10 year old should be able to get an abortion. And to be honest, the fact that this is even a discussion is disgusting. Children should not live in a world where they have to fear getting graped and perhaps leading to this procedure. But when it comes to women, I feel as if you should be more responsible, safe sex is something very easy to have, birth control is very easy to get, there are many ways to educate ones self in safe sex. But if someone is graped? That is extremely traumatic, especially if they are that young, they should be allowed to have that abortion. It would be more traumatic to go along with that pregnancy rather for obvious reasons, than get an abortion.

    • @gangstaboy9387
      @gangstaboy9387 8 днів тому

      Birth control fails more often than you think and men are often sloppy when it comes to condoms, sometimes putting it on after a while and as you know you can definitely come before orgasm. But the birth control fail is something not everyone knows about for some reason. So obviously abortions should not be illegal. And people who believe that it should they are most likely American and Christian.

    • @dark_wolf1572
      @dark_wolf1572 День тому

      I agree. However, I think it's also important to recognize times when the pregnancy could pose a greater risk to the mother. Additionally, for me, it's also important to recognize cases where being safe doesn't work. Sadly, birth control doesn't work 100% of the time. This means that those who are not financially or emotionally ready to have a child are faced with a life altering decision. For why I believe in abortions for medical reasons, I have a very personal experience. My mother had a very early stage miscarriage while in the first few years of her marriage. If this didn't happen at such an early stage, she would have sought out an adortion because of medical concerns for the child. These later contributed to the miscarriage, and if it didn't occur, there was a slight chance the baby would live to birth and a high risk for hurting my mother and her ability to get pregnant again. She also would have sought out one as my parents wouldn't have been able to raise a child. At the time, my father was extremely ill with assertive colitis, needing one intestine removed (it was sever and this was before many of the medications we have now) and was placed on expermental medications that led to him devloping steoporosis despite being in his early 20's. In that time, he was either in the hospital or bed riden. While my mother took care of him and worked. This would not have been the type of environment where a child would be cared for and given the attention and nessicary things needed for a good life as they were living off of her single income as a young woman that only had a high-school degree. Later on my parents had 3 children, I am the youngest. There is a 7 and 5 year age gap between my siblings and I because of infertility issues and health complications in the birth of both of my siblings that could have posed a great risk to both of them and my mom. We all needed to be tested in the womb for certain conditions, but my parents were able to afford this in the time it took from their days, its emotional toll and financially as it nessiciated a lot of time off work. Personally I am endlessly grateful that my parents were able to chose. I hope that this is something that others feel free to, if not, then to place the child for adoption without shame and guilt. Despite all that they did and continue to do, I was born with a learning disability. The work I do to keep up with others my age is incomprehensible but with aid and acess to technology I'm headed University with an average in the 90's. Without their ability to chose and plan ahead this wouldn't happen. Sorry this was so long, it's a very personal subject. I hope this comment came off in a respectful manner!
