In our current cultural environment I feel bad for men. There is such an expectation to be/act/look a certain way or heavy judgement and ridicule is directed towards the non-conformers. I think with the rise of feminism it has reduced the expectations towards females and femininity (ie the old long hair, dress wearing, make-up wearing, petite damsel-in-distress) and so we women have become a bit more liberated from cultural expectations than men (it's still there but the judging is much less). When will there be a male revolution fighting against the man stereotypes of how men look and behave in society? We all need to liberate ourselves from the cultural norms being imposed on us so we can be ourselves and live in harmony together focusing on more important things than keeping up appearances.
I didn't know there was a term to a "masculine" gay man, since the majority of people don't figure out my gayness if i don't say i am and even say i am too straight to be gay, it's true that we suffer way less than more feminine gay man unfortunately, but it's good to see that this hate to gays and lgbts in general is getting weaker every day around the globe, (also i love your videos, it's like a good talk with a good friend)
Worth mention, unless trying to appeal to people who get up in arms about the term, cis man is a more accurate description than biological man for the purposes expressed in the intro. If anyone is wanting to know more I can explain under this, but tldr is that biology is far too complex to classify people in the boxes that we as humans have developed and use for sex and gender. All this said, I love seeing the increase of a range of folks speaking about masculinity from backgrounds that aren't far right hyper misogynists.
