I live in a city where the humidity is very high, and my weavy hair becomes frizzy and dry quickly, and I want your suggestions on the best products please
Hey, humidity is def not a friend to wavy hair - mine does exactly the same in that type of climate. I'd recommend a leave in conditioner to help with dryness, layer a strong hold gel over this and lock it all in by not only scrunching out the crunch with an oil but then also smoothing a little extra over your hair - particularly ends and areas that tend to frizz. I love a lightweight leave-in such as NYM, Ceremonia UV Detangler and Olaplex No5 (If you want a cream rather than spray) and a gel such as giovanni strong hold, curlsmith souffle or UG Jelly. My favourite oil has to be Olaplex No7 as it's super light but for something thicker (and cheaper) L'oreal extraordinary oil is brilliant! Good luck, let me know how you get on 👍
This is a great video, but I still can't seem to do this! How does the curl not uncoil when you are twisting the brush to release the hair? It seems that motion would just undo all of your work?
Thanks so much for your comment. It’s really tricky to explain in words but you continue to twist in the same direction and gently pull the brush down and out so it doesn’t undo. You could always add gel prior to brush styling for more hold. I’m planning a video to show different ways to brush style in detail so that might be helpful for you? 🤞
I would like for you to fix them
😊
Hi my name is Angela and I have spare Eybrows I would like to have them fixed
Hi Angela the best bet is to find a brow specialist or artist in your area and book a consultation. That way you can get some advice as to which treatment would suit you best. 😊
Thanks for the awesome download. I'm an olaplex new curly person and have just managed to get the 10 in New Zealand . I love it too.❤
Thanks so much for your lovely comment, you’re very welcome. I love 3, 5, 6 & 10 ❤️
After having a life-long habit of giving myself a glam blowout, in the past few months I just airdried. It was a shock to find out that I have my mom's wavy hair, which she also habitually fries with heat, into submission. I'm now finding out whether I have 2A or 2B hair at the age of 40. Or even 2C, not sure where this transition will lead me. Thank you for sharing your journey too. I'm excited for good hair times ahead!
Ah good luck with learning all about being wavy let me know if I can help in anyway 💖 for me there is nothing wrong with sometimes blowdrying and achieving smoother bouncy hair it’s just about how and how often do hair doesn’t get damaged. In the winter I do this more often just for time saving sake but in the summer I wear my hair pretty much exclusively wavy/curly 😊😊
OMG Tori these results are stunning! Your hair looks absolutely beautiful and so shiny and healthy. I am going to try this method myself. X
I love the fact that the socks also secure everything in place - so efficient. My husband (-and the builder working on the bathroom) thought it was the funniest sight 😆😆 good luck with it, let me know how it goes x
I would love to have seen their faces when they first saw you! 😹 you still looked as pretty as ever though. 😊 I will let you know how I get on. X
Beautiful curls!! I bought some curlers called Cozy Curlers that work similarly. I use mine all the time!!😊
Instantly going to google Cozy Curlers 😆
Hello Tori, what is the eye brow pencil you are using please?
Hi it's a brow pencil you sharpen with a craft knife - a few places sell them - HD Brows, Buff Browz and you can even get them now on amazon - amzn.to/4extkHp I personally only ever buy the black ones and use them very lightly to create hair strokes - I've found the other shades not to be great colour matches; too warm or too ashy!
That looks relaxing
❤️
My hair was sleek for years, I was so sad to loose my curly wavy hair... After covid I had hairloss. Then I started to take supplements. Now 2 years later, my hair is wavy again. And curly at the ends (I have tailbone lenght) and it is 3 times the amount of it was years ago. During these 2 years I tried every topical treatment and other hair growth remedies, none of them made my hair grow faster. This is not possible. But my hair is so dense now, after all of these years it was thin and flat. Vitamin or mineral deficiency can affect not only your hair amount, also the hair type can change. Magnesium is very important, almost every person has too less in the body because stress reduces it. Selenium, iodine, vitamin d3
I must admit this is exactly what I expect from the results - perhaps an improvement in quality and density but not in how fast my hair will actually grow…but I’ll keep an open mind ☺️ Amazing that your hair went from wavy to sleek and back again but good to know that your happy with it now /m❤️
Hi tori, what are your thoughts on silicones? Do you still use them or avoid them? I love your videos!
Thanks for your lovely comment. This is not a straight forward yes or no answer but I will try to keep my explanation short, lol! I significantly reduced my silicone use when I first started on my healthy hair journey, particularly in conditioners and masks I swapped to silicone free products. I have always used oils to SOTC which have silicones. These days I'm actually reintroducing silicones into my hair care routines. Lot's of reasons why.... I was thinking of doing a live one sunday and talking about these types of questions. Sorry it's not a more simple answer!
Its me again ive just purchased the redken Acidic bonding concentrated leave in treatment as its on offer i use in mostly on my ends were the old bleach damage is and my hair feels so soft first time i used it was on dry hair and it felt lovely and hydrated and soft. Today i used it on soaking wet hair im really impressed and there's me saying im not going to buy anymore hair products 😂
Oh this is is very interesting as another person said they were really unimpressed… I’m definitely going to give it a go, sometime you just have to find out for yourself…that’s my justification for another hair product purchase and I’m sticking to it 😉😊
From the states how much would this cost from a professional? I am to nervous to try this myself. How much does it cost for a professional to shape eyebrows ? Mine are sparse like hers. I would love to get mine shaped and tinted but I have no idea who does this. Any recommendations. Can a beautician do this? Or ULTA beauty? How much? You did a very good job on her brows.
Hi I'm sorry I really don't know what this would cost in the states. I'm a Brow Specialist with over 10 years experience and I charge £45 for this treatment which is approx $58. My client has very blonde fine hair but a decent amount which is why lamination works so well for her, it gives much thicker looking brows. It's definitely a treatment I'd recommend seeing an experienced professional for - they should be happy to have a consultation with you and complete a patch test prior to treatment. I hope this helps - I would start by trying to find brow artists or experts in your area; perhaps on Instagram or Facebook. Good luck, I really hope you find someone.
Hi Tori, I love your videos! I just recently discovered my hair is wavy (2a/2b) and your quasi-bowl method video has been a godsend. Could you do a video tutorial on how to make coils with the Denman brush? Every time I try I just get my hair tangled up in it and get no curl at all.
Hi Abbott, thanks so much for your lovely comment and I love that description of my bowl method - quasi-bowl....I'm definitely using that from now on! Yes absolutely, I've been thinking about making a video showing different brushes and different curl clump techniques so I could include it in that. I do also have a dedicated denman styling routine to create thicker fuller looking waves - have you seen that one already? I'll link it here in case you haven't ... ua-cam.com/video/lwRriv5qMxo/v-deo.html
Oh and congrats on discovering you have wavy hair...it's the best! 💖
@@Tori_Hunter Thank you! I hadn't seen it. I'll check it out now.
@@Tori_Hunter I'm trying to get there! It's just not consistently nice, and sometimes I still wish it were straight.
Where are you located,? My brows never came back right after chemo..would love you to help
Hi Nancy, I'm in south west UK. Not really taking new clients on at the moment though. I'm sorry to hear you've been through chemo - did the hairs grow back in a different pattern or thickness? I've had a couple of clients who've been through chemo and their best option was microblading as they didn't have enough brow hair to shape and tint. Have yoy got hair to work with?
Thank you for your hair routine ❤ I tried it on my wavy hair and I got great results 🎉 I’m not new in this topic but your tips and tricks does make great difference 🫶
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment and let me know 🥰 so glad you got good results; a good wash day is always a lovely thing!
Just to let you know Tori the Vitabright Biotin hair growth tables are on offer at the moment i payed £18.99 and there only now £4.99 im gutted as i payed full price .They are really small tablets and are Biotin 400 high strength and 1 year supply the reviews are good they are on Amazon
Wow that's a BIG discount thanks for letting me know, I'll def look into that option 👍
please do a video on living proof- i’m also using it on my wavy hair but not loving the texture once it’s dried
I had a similar experience the first time I used it but I think I’ve found a way to make it work - maybe I’ll do a review or ranking of bond repairs I’ve used ☺️
oh my gosh same! A well known hair influencer uses it and recommend it but i find it makes my hair dry and also slightly brittle? Totally the opposite of what you are trying to do with a bond repair!
This is just up my street Tori I'm with you on this journey as soon as I finished watching this video i measured my hair i don't have a middle parting but I made one and when I measured it was 16 inches that's a coincidence 😂.Im not going to buy anymore hair products ive got to many I'm just going to use the ones I have i just brought the mielle rosemary and mint light scalp oil and also the Aldi Lacura hydrate and moisture scalp serum so im going to do the hair massage. Because im a old lady😂 my hair does not grow very quickly .I've just started this week vitabright Biotin hair growth vitamins so im going to see if they make any difference in hair growth it does take a few months to get into the system though. I bet your going to try the redken .I've only just brought another olaplex 3 so will stick to that as I love it im also trying out the L'Oreal Elvive bond set as its been highly recommended by others on UA-cam and it's a lot cheaper. Looking forward to part 2 ?
Oh I’m so pleased and excited you’re going to join me with this experiment. Sounds like you already have everything you need and how amazing that our hair is the same length 😄💁♀️ I think a lot of these things I do or have but it’s about consistency of use for me! I guess part 2 will be early 2025 x
I have similar hair as yours and I do not like that redkin acidic bond repair. I’m using it up but it makes my highlighted blonde hair feel so so dry.
Oh really that’s interesting, I def don’t need any help making my hair feel dry it does that easily all by itself 🤦🏼♀️ Did you have damage & if yes did it help repair it? Thank you
@@Tori_Hunter I am natural blonde with lots of highlights so yes to damage! I did not feel like it repaired my hair. When I use olaplaex 3 I it repairs/helps my hair.
Hmm this is very intriguing, because I too have highlights so I wonder if I'd get the same result. I'm still super tempted to try it but there is also Epres that I could give a go but it's pretty expensive! Have you tried that one too?
@@Tori_Hunter I do like the Epres. I haven't been using it consistently but I felt like it helped to soften my hair, help with frizz.
Maybe I should try the Epres once I'm done with the Living Proof...my issue is I really don't like using it because of how it first makes my hair feel 🙈
I only use the Olaplex gel and the oil on the ends. Wait a few days then use the leave in conditioner as a refresher.
I really like the leave in as a refresher - I find it really helps with dry ends/tangles. How do you like the gel?
I like the gel I wish it was a stronger hold.I deep condition on wash day after Rinsing out use your bounce curl defining brush then dry excess water with t-shirt or microfiber towel then use a spray heat protectant then add the gel flip over and scrunch scrunch scrunch with your hands then you need a hair diffuser use on low heat allover for defining curls after dry apply Olaplex oil to scrunch out the crunch I use hair spray for more hold.I use leave in conditioner on refresh days with very little water then hit your hair with the diffuser just a few times. Hope thiS helps
@silverlight6005 sounds like a great routine to me 👌✨
I purchased both of these products based on your recommendation and love it! Thanks Tori for sharing your experience. I was wondering whether you could share your heatless waves routine :) Thank you!
Hey @tatiana - they’re lovely products aren’t they? I reach for them every single wash routine at the moment. The other day I just used the gel for a scrunch only and it worked beautifully ❤️ I already have a video for the heatless unicorn method I’ll link that for you but I’m also planning a video on a different method this month so should be up in the next few weeks 👌 x

@tatianak1276 you’re very welcome ❤️
I was wondering wth faffy meant and then you provided a definition 🤣🤣🤣
😂👍
hi Tori… l guess having freshly washed hair before any routine is very important? 😊 you get amazing results every time! thank you for the video tutorial!
😂 ha ha yes apparently so, you noticed that after 5 wash routines 😆 You’re welcome and thank you for always commenting and supporting my channel 🥰
@ 😊
That was fascinating seeing the different looks that you achieved with the same two products and different styling methods. I can't manage the bowl method myself but my version of this product application method is applying styling products to soaking wet hair in the shower, then combing the products through before pulsing my hair. I generally plop in the shower while my hair is still dripping wet (sending mental thanks to you every time I use my Dock & Bay hair wraps - so good I bought more than one 💚) and these two steps achieve similar strong wave clumps and product distribution that you get from the bowl method. Best of luck with your bathroom renovation!!
It's amazing isn't it that you can create so many different looks with so little! I think when my bathroom is finished I'm going to try your method in the shower - I can imagine that creates some lovely clumps without the mess of water all over the place! I know aren't they amazing, I have a dock and bay hair wrap on my christmas list 😊 x
@@Tori_Hunter Yes, it definitely creates more defined clumps for me and I can be as enthusiastic (and make as much mess as I want) when pulsing products into my hair. My hair is coarse which means I have to glaze a bit more strong hold gel on my hair after I remove the hair wrap, post-plop, but you might not have this issue.
As I'm watching your video, I'm thinking of things that have helped me with hair that wants to tangle a lot, when it's wet, and two of them have to do with how hard your water is. We have medium-hard water and things I've done to counteract the effect of this on my hair are: 1 - a mild apple cider vinegar rinse after shampooing and conditioning - (one capful of ACV to 300mls warm water) my hair is coarse so I don't rinse this ACV out but if you have fine hair you might want to leave the rinse in for a minute or two and then rinse it out. ACV rinse makes my hair shine and makes it less tangle-prone. 2 - I bought a Hello Klean shower head filter (they have a few different types). I don't bother with the ACV rinse any more since getting the shower filter because my hair feels less tangly with this change. It might be worth looking on your local water company website to see how hard your water is. There are also shampoos that have chelating ingredients that might help if you have water-related issues. 3 - Pre-shampoo coconut oiling my hair helps to prevent tangles. This doesn't counteract water hardness but it does help to make my hair lengths less tangly after washing. I'm sure there's a great explanation of how and why it works somewhere on Abbey Yung's channel but I can't remember it off the top of my head 😬 I found your video very relaxing to watch although your relaxing Sundays are much more active than mine - I curl up with a book and some hot chocolate and proceed not to move until I absolutely have to 😊 Edit - forgot to mention that sometimes my hair gets tangly because it needs a trim or a dusting: www.lorealparisusa.com/beauty-magazine/hair-care/all-hair-types/hair-dusting-haircut www.allthingshair.com/en-us/hair-care/how-to-get-healthy-hair/hair-dusting/
You're right Nic; hard water definitely makes a big big difference. We have a water softener installed at home but I always notice the difference when we travel. I've never tried an apple cider rinse, anything that adds shine is a win as far as I'm concerned. Do you have any particular product recommendations? Glad you enjoyed the video, your Sunday's sound lovely - what are you reading at the moment? I love to read so much. I just finished The List of Suspicious Things, it was fantastic even though it reduced me to tears! x
@@Tori_Hunter I love a book that I can lose myself in to the point of feeling tearful or triumphant given what's happening to the characters. Currently. I'm re-reading Patricia Highsmith's Ripley series of books; I hadn't read them for years and they were on special offer for Kindle so I treated myself. I usually use Aspall's organic cider vinegar as it's easy to find in most UK supermarkets but, in a pinch, I've used Tesco and Sainsbury own-brand and had no issues. I keep a plastic pint glass, or a pack of disposable plastic cups, in my bathroom as that way it's easy to pre-fill the container with a capful of vinegar before getting into the shower and then fill the container with water from the shower head and tip it over my hair. Remember to avoid getting it in your eyes (don't ask me how I know this lol).
@Nic2C Lol oh no I can absolutely guess how you know to share the tip about avoiding eyes! I’m absolutely going to give this a try at some point, thanks so much for sharing the info with me and happy reading ❤️
I think the bowl method works so well because the water clumps the hair together super well and allows product to distribute easily in so much water. If you tried the bowl method without any product tho I think the result would be still be good thanks to the method itself 🙌
This is a very interesting thought - I personally think there would be a difference in the result overall if I didn't use product; but I'm quite tempted to try it and find out 😄 Def agree the water helps create the lovely juicy clumps!
I have thick course hair, with greys, which are even more course, and I'm trying to find something that will make my hair soft. Like you, I don't like texturizing products. I've been finding out how much leave-ins & creams my hair needs, which is a lot more than most and I've been using creams & leave-ins on my dry hair too.
I guess because of the texture of your hair you need a lot more - it's all a little bit trial and error to work out exactly what and how much our hair needs i think 😊
Hi Tori, how do you wrap your hair in a satin scarf? I have a similar wave pattern and struggling with protection over night!
Hi, if I take the time to use a satin scarf (I’m trying to do this as much as possible at the moment) this is how I do it … Wavy Hair Hack #shorts #wavyhairroutine ua-cam.com/users/shortsIn1SRq5HafI?feature=share
This was so very interesting Tori. I love the bowl method as I get really good hair clumbs and more moisture as my hair is on the dry side .I also like you, like my hair to feel soft but also with definition .My hair also goes like yours at the ends its a bit more thinner I did have a trim so it's not so bad now I add oil on the ends .I've just tried the Merwave and I was very impressed it lasted me nearly a week with so much definition and lovely waves I even had some 2c waves I also found the Merwave refresh spray really good I just spray a touch of water then use the spray it just brings back the waves and hair is soft .I still put my hair in a pineapple with silk scrunchie I use a satin pillowcase why don't you do that method anymore. It's taken me about a year to get my waves sorted and in better condition its definitely been a learning curve thank you for your help Tori much appreciated ❤
Hey Blondiejam So glad you found it an interesting video. It really does sound like we have very similar waves 😊 I have been struggling with a lot of shorter hair towards my crown and then I saw an IG reel about scrunchies potentially causing breakage; I’m not sure I believe that but I did think it wouldn’t do any harm to change my method and put the theory to the test 😆 Sounds like you’ve had really lovely results from the merwave system. I’ve ordered it and got it but until our bathroom is finished I won’t be able to film the process so thought I’d wait until I can, I hope mine goes as well as yours 🤞 Thanks so your lovely comments, a learning curve it absolutely is…x
Are you sure it's not new hair growth do you use a silk scrunchie and have it loose hope you get it sorted. Hope you got loads of cupboards in your new bathroom for all your hair products 😂
@@Tori_Hunter I found the Invisibobble satin scrunchies are very good at not causing damage because they don't put much tension on the hair while keeping it in place. They're really easy to take out of your hair again in the morning which also helps reduce breakage.
Brow mapping video please ❤
Ok I’ll start working on it 👍
Hi how do i come to do my eyebrows with you? Are You in London?
Hi, no sorry I'm not, I'm not really taking on new clients at the moment, sorry x
Hi Tori, is it okay to use castor oil on laminated brows?
Hi Katrina, yes absolutely I wouldn't use it for a week or so after having brows laminated though. I personally prefer to use a hair mask with protein in it but that's just a personal preference 😊
Appreciate you getting back to me Tori. I just followed this tutorial, worked so well. Thank you 😊
Thank you for this video. 😊Which hair dryer do you use?
Hi Dana, you're welcome. With this technique I use my shark styler with the diffuser attachment
Omg I love your hair pattern!! It's so beautiful <3. Definitely subscribing! Can't wait to watch more of your videos!!
Hey Emma, thanks so much for taking the time to write such a lovely comment and for subscribing 💖
What kind of wet brush do you use and do you use it after you have rinsed out the conditioner?
Hi @tanyagattinger9911 - my absolute favourite is the flex wetbrush, I just find it so gentle, won't snag or pull but does a great job at detangling! amzn.to/3YJdk0a (aff link)
