Ff5 is my favorite game of all time, glad someone else enjoys it
It's nice to see an obsessed fan. Even if it's only for 1 title in the genre. I enjoyed FF5 but to be honest it was one of my least favorite games. The job systems on any final fantasy are just monotonous to make it seem longer than it actually is. 5 had the best story and implementation, but I can't be the only to think this game was pretty short compared to 4 or 6. The story isn't lack luster or lazy it's well made it's just so short. It feels like the job system was made to compensate for the shortness in the story
If anything I bet it was the other way around, the game is somewhat shorter than most because they spent a lot of time refining the job system. I also consider the shorter length to be a good thing, too many JRPGs are bloated.
7:22 That's somehow more psychopathic than the original
I still love blue mage, even if its metagame heavy, just cus i love the concept of it, and that it's actually good spells are just that good
I don't know if equips count, but on FF6 there's an accessory called Marvel Shoes, that applies Protect, Shell, Regen AND Haste on whoever has it equipped. And since you get those buffs from an acdlcessory, it doesn't run out, and it can't be purged.
so this is where Reverend disappeared to
I don't like Pokemon, yugioh, or monster rancher nearly enough.
galuf just being invisible for these jobs because he's supposed to be dead by the time you get them is so funny
Big Guard in OG FFVII is Protect/Shell/Haste.
i've been through the final fantasy games in number order, and when i got to 5 i was just sort of blown away because its mechanics are very engaging and compelling and i like it a lot. like i thought 1 was old and jank, 2 was actively anti-fun, 3 was pretty good for an NES game, 4 was ok, and then 5 was the first one where im like "ok i could see myself coming back to this multiple times." like this games job system is exactly the kind of thing i wanted out of an rpg. its story is kind of basic but the game is fun enough that I don't really care. my only gripe is that i think needing a thief or using an ability slot to be able to run is kind of annoying, because the default walk speed feels so sluggish.
The walk speed really sucks, that's why having auto run in GBA and PR is great, and Project Demi FFV just lets you run at sonic speed anywhere.
As a themed spell for a time mage who can also use blue. Sounds cool.
Depends on my mood. I go either way.
What’s the music in this video?
Above the Clouds from Paper Mario 64.
Wind and Water deserve some love too.
Ffvii might guard gives haste instead of float and fftactics no class princess and whatever Alma was have that crazy all buff move.
Wish wind and water magic wasnt so secondary compared to fire ice and thunder, its still really silly that enemies in ff7 can do Aero and Aeroga but you cant learn it
FFV loves the basics; basic elements, basic weapon types, stuff like that.
I actually didn't care for 5 way back but it's really grown on me.
3/10 not enough saying anything
Why is half this video blank
The background i made for the shorts and video rendered extremely dark for some reason, and I didn't notice until the video was up for a while.
@@Suprapika oh it’s the only one of yours that does that I usually enjoy them so I thought it was weird esp since I didn’t make use of Old in playthrough as much as I’d have liked to, it’s a cool “status” like Frog or Toad 🐸
Does a Mighty Guard with haste that has amazing utility exists? Yeah... it's Big Guard from ff7 lol... The same spell but better!
*Al:* Hey, do you want me to help you with that? *Marty:* ^Rolls eyes^ *Al:* And I took that personally.
~51mins Might and Magic 6 really liked spears, for whatever reason. The sword skill had no damage scaling on it, and unless you have the greyface patch (iirc that was the name of a fan bug fix patch) it's master tier skill wasn't even useful because of the insanely huge attack speed penalty for dual wielding. Not to say anything about magic ofc lol
I really want to like your videos as I love FFV but as mostly a background listener I don't enjoy the parts where you play the boss fight in the background with no commentary.
That's fair, and I've definitely started to move away from that the more I do; this video and the level 1 run are definitely the worst about it.
I've wondered: does this magic work on the Gil Turtle?
Not by default, you'll need to Dark Spark him once or twice to make his level even.
Final fantasy V was proably one of the first things to ever teach me getting old sucks, thanks ffv!
Galuf is a strong guy if he's still able to fight despite being in a permanent state of Old.
It is kinda funny they introduced the Old debuff and an old player character in the same game.
@@Suprapika feels like a Sakaguchi touch tbqh
Imagine casting old irl lmao " i cast back pain and ibs " lol even
I cast "cancel social security".
I just found use for Doom in real time: avoiding EXP desync in the Pyramid at the start of world 3. You avoid all chests, Doom the snakes and robots, and Firaga Spellblade instant deaths the one forced Mummy mash. The Gargoyles dont give EXP and they're the only boss before Lenna comes back. The demon you beat to add her back to the party also doesn't give EXP.
You take the Chicken Knife because it is optimal. I take the Brave Blade because I do not let my enemies live. We are not the same. 😅
Neceomancer is basically a bonus track, wven among the Advance jobs. It is truly unnecessary, it canbpnly be unlocked in postgame and it has passive Undead status (albeit a controllable version that doesn't count towards a game over). Gladiator's Finisher is also Insta-kill on enemies vulnerable to that element, but yeah if it reaists or worse absorbs that element you are shafted. And to be honest I think Cannoneer shouldnhave been Faris. Come on, she's a pirate. Missed opportunity. Still, great vid.
If this was the GBA version, I'd say throw the GBA bonus classes into their own separate bonus round for that game's own variant of the four job fiesta. But in that case, what would be the worst of the GBA jobs? All four of them are pretty useful in their own right, but Necromancer would probably be the most likely since 1: it is inherently undead status (albeit a controllable version) meaning healing drains and revive kills, and 2: by the time you have it, it's no longer really necessary since you literally need to get into the post game of the GBA version to access it.
I actually have a run up of playing through the game with the Advance jobs from the start of the game, and it's definitely Oracle. Both of its signature abilities are either too cumbersome to use, or don't work on most enemies that you'd want to use it on. But, if you take into account when you get them, then yeah Necromancer is the most pointless, but it's a hell of a lot more fun than Oracle.
5:45 me imagining my future with a random mcdonald’s cashier
Bro I never get tired of a good tier list. Don't think like that 😂 Imo it's kinda peak content when it's done well/about something you give a shit about...
Okay the four blue mages with bone male spamming roulette sounds like the world's shittiest casino but by God is it hilarious to think about
I can't stop winning!
@Suprapika I mean if roulette was affected by reflect yes you actually could set that up
4:08 "is there any spell like Mighty Guard but it also gives Haste?" hahahahahahhhahahhhaha Final Fantasy VII and VIII break rather easily and early. Shoutout to FFX Mix too.
Brave Blade is a straight upgrade to Excalipoor if you're using it to... Gunch... I guess.
:|
@Suprapika hey, I hate it too. It is faster type though.
Gunch is a state of mind.
Be quiet you 14 year old monk
You don't have to grind the "Flee" command to make the Brave Blade usable, and for that reason alone is the best of the two.
3:46 “I’ll tell you what it said!” “it’s not saying anything…”
Blue mage has one of my favorite video game-isms ever. Blue mage leveled up Blue mage learned Learning Wait... what?
Isnt WW also like, the only way to properly heal someone using the Bone Mail, or did I confuse it with something else?
Nope. Outside of poison or using flame rings and burning the dude, this is it. I think chemist can use a mix combo as well but I can't be bothered to use chemist 9/10 times
You can also use drain/drain sword on an undead enemy and double reverse the effect ending up in a regular heal
Quick in FF6 is like super broken if you have some good equip
I used aquabreath a😂nd white wind
Thanks algorithm
Hey man, just telling you, Crystal Project is a fucking banger. The game's difficulty can be hit-or-miss, and yeah the platforming is meh, but definitely go through with it if/when it goes on sale. I've dumped plenty of hours and done a couple of playthroughs, I'd recommend it.
A berserker with the thief's artful dodger ability along with hermes sandals is an absolute beast.
Setting aside the fact this is a special challenge run, I was floored when I learned how Level 5 death just ignores shit and the second I learned the side turrets were level 50... I hate the Soul Cannon so much, but that made the whole fight a hell of a lot easier, screw having to deal with Old status during that fight. lol
This is perfect timing. I actually started a 4 job fiesta last weekend after coming across your channel and learning the concept. It kinda hits the Pokemon Nuzlocke itch for me in a less frustrating way. I happened to roll a blue mage at the wind crystal so this is a great rundown of what spells are worth pursuing, which I won't be able to get unless I hit on beastmaster, etc. I'm probably more of a series-wide Final Fantasy fan than you based on how you describe yourself, but FF5 always stood out to me way more than it does to most people with how fun the job interactions are. 4 job fiesta is so good at making you think outside the box with them.
For the record, I probably mention this in the video, but you don't NEED Beastmaster to get the Blue spells, just a confusion spell. But glad to help!
