You know it’s kinda funny how people keep saying that ghost being glitched to not affect psychic types is a huge deal when really, it damaging would barely change anything. That 20 bp lick would “definitely” make psychic types less op, “definitely” even funnier when you realize that ghost is physical and the only Pokémon that learn lick in gen 1 are special attackers.
I know, right? Maybe if Shadow Ball existed it'd be different, but the physical aspect to it really kills it. I can't believe they kept that shit until gen 4, by the way. The "psychic not effecting ghosts" thing would be a game changer though, I'm honestly kinda disappointed they never went through with that. That's what Dark is for, I guess.
@@Suprapika You know it’s kinda funny how hard psychic type has fallen off in recent gens, from arguably being the best type next to normal in gen 1, to being considered one of the worst types in gen 9 (especially when one of the best mons is kingambit) oh how the mighty have fallen.
@@Suprapika To cut it short, the type now just doesn’t offer much offensively or defensively. When you’re weak to one of the best offensive types in the game (ghost and dark) and you don’t offer much defensively it just makes the type really bad. The fairy type in gen 6 is basically just a better psychic type, since it also hits fighting super effectively, but also dark and dragon, along with having resistances to said types. Also only hitting fighting and poison for super effective damage just stinks for psychic. There’s a reason as to why people consider psychic as amongst the worst type in the game, only being beaten out by bug, for well… you know why.
It's definitely interesting that they programmed a whole-ass type for it to only have 1 evolutionary line that you probably won't see until Lance, and 1 move.

dragon rage being the only Gen I dragon move has always been so strange. not sure if it's by design, or just another rushed development thing
